KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- People's Progressive Party (PPP) advisor S. I. Rajah said Wednesday the party would not leave the Barisan Nasional (BN).
"I met the BN chairman and the secretary-general at the Parliament House today, and gave them an assurance that PPP would not leave the BN coalition," he said in a statement.
Prime Minister and BN chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had said yesterday that it was up to PPP to leave the coalition, following its threat to do so if the Internal Security Act (ISA) was not abolished before the next general election.
The government sticks to its decision not to abolish the ISA as it was deemed necessary in safeguarding the country's security.
Rajah said PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas should have obtained the consensus of the grassroots members' support first before issuing an ultimatum to BN.
tunku : will ppp follow the footstep of sapp? like sapp, most of it's members and it's deputy president were against the president's decision to quit bn.now we can see the same with ppp.we will wait for kayveas's statement now, what he has to say, whether he will stick to his words or not.

will PPP do the same move as SPP?.since his advisor said they they gonna remain in PPP,this shows that PPP is on the verge on conflict within when the advisor and the president aren't on the same lane of their view.
Hah, pulak dah. Haritu garang sangat, ni sama je lah kes macam SAPP tu. Yang bercakap punya pendapat tak sehaluan dengan yang lain. Sekarang dah makan diri, siapa2 yang cakap pasal tu haritu, sekarang jawab lah
