Differences Within BN Should Not Be Openly Discussed, Says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak advised all Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders not to publicly discuss differences, problems or engage in polemics on issues like Malay supremacy.
"Actually, when we formed the BN structure, one of the aims was for any differences or problems or polemics to be discussed behind closed doors through special channels the coalition has made available.
"But of late, these channels are not being utilised. Some quarters are more interested in discussing things openly," he said when asked to comment about component parties of the BN openly raising issues concerning Malay supremacy.
He said this to reporters after chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Sports Development at Parliament Monday.
Najib said openly discussing such matters did not bring any benefit to the BN.
"It is counter-productive as the people will view the BN as having so many problems all the time. I do not deny the component parties have the right to voice out their grievances but it must be done properly.
"It can also lead to other component parties that are not involved to feel uneasy," he added.

tunku : this is najib biggest challenge, to have firm control on bn and umno. if he can do it, then bn will be in power again with big majority other wise very very tough times ahead for bn and umno.najib should not make the mistakes done by pak lah, he needs to learn from the mistakes fast.

i believe that we have to know when to discuss issues either openly or in closed door.

this is not necessarily means "sealing the truth from the masses".it's just that to avoid other quarters to be dragged along and make assumptions of their own thus making BN looks as if they're always in trouble.

just like what Najib said "It can also lead to other component parties that are not involved to feel uneasy,".so when people feel rather awkward and uneasy they will open their mouth and express their concern that maybe gonna add more fire to the fuel.

Kalau memang dah lemah tu, ambik perhatian la. Jangan asyik nak 'cover-cover'. Kalau macam tu, sampai bila pun tak kan maju.
Lebih penting kan air muka dari kemajuan.
