BN Is Confident Of Two-Third Majority

2/3 majority in my hands.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- After a week of campaigning, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is confident that the Barisan Nasional (BN) will secure a two-third majority based on reports received from the states.
The prime minister also called on the voters to give their full support to the BN which had proven its ability to take care of the people's welfare and bring about progress to the country.
"As for the BN's position at this stage, InsyaAllah, we will obtain the two-third majority," he told reporters after opening the Conference of Terengganu Religious Leaders 2008, one of the three programmes he attended during his one-day visit to the east coast state.
The BN chairman was asked to comment on the progress of BN's campaign so far.
The campaigning period for the 12th general election now entered its second week before the March 8 polling day, with house-to-house campaigning and poster war expected to intensify in the efforts by political parties to woo the 10.92 million voters nationwide.
Abdullah said the fruit of development enjoyed by the people would be value-added further.
Meanwhile the BN today launched a special website at www.warkahuntukpm.com.my to allow the people to convey their views and suggestions to the prime minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who launched the website said it would enable the prime minister to access the views or issues of concern among the people, as well as to get feedback and suggestions to improve governance in the country.
BN's candidate in Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil summed up the BN government's commitment to serve the people.
She reminded the voters nationwide that they should make sure that the candidates whom they voted in, could start working for the people as early as March 9, the very next day after the polling day.
BN's candidate in Mersing parliamentary seat, Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad said the government was spending almost RM10 billion a year to make sure that the people would get the best possible health services at a low cost.
He said in terms of health and medical services, the BN government had been implementing a welfare state policy since the past 50 years.
Dr Abdul Latiff also said that that Pas was merely "trying to paste the party's label to what has been implemented by the BN for so long" when the opposition party spoke of implementing a welfare state policy in the country if it was elected.
"The people have been enjoying low health services cost from their cradle to the grave," he said.
Another effort to make sure that the problems faced by the people are attended to, is the appointment of a group of 2,000 graduates as Price Monitoring Officers.
Meanwhile among the interesting event on the campaigning front today was the presence of popular singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin in Taman Gemas Indah where Zainab Nasir, the BN's candidate in Gemas state seat, was campaigning.
In Batu Pahat, Ahmad Rais, 67, the father of BN candidate in Parit Sulong parliamentary seat Datuk Noraini Ahmad, is seen assisting his daughter in her campaign trail.
"I'm happy to follow Noraini to offer support. She is a chip of the old block," said Ahmad who was once the Semerah Umno Youth division secretary and Parit Sulong Umno division committee member.

tunku : well BN is so confident about it,after all this is report from experts. what about the oppositions, well they surrender? i guess the opposition should change their campaign strategy, everywhere i see, they only accuse the government but nothing on what can they deliver if they wins.
