Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir who is nominated to contest in Jerlun under BN will face Idris Ahmad of Pas. Idri Ahmad has contested in Jerlun in 2004 and lost to BN's Datuk Abdul Rahman Ariffin. In 2004 BN won in Jerlun by 2142 votes.In 1999 Pas won in Jerlun by 380 votes where pas candidate Dr Abu Bakar Othman defeated Bn's candidate Ismail Tayib.
