BN confident of retaining two-third majority

The ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) government is confident of retaining its two-third majority in Parliament in the 12th general election, likely to be held next month.
“Yes, we will get the two-third majority. I am positive. We will achieve that,” Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today after chairing a meeting of the National Social Council at his office, here.
Speculation is rife that the BN government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will call a snap election by the end of next month.
In the last general election, in 2004, the BN romped home to a convincing victory with a total of 198 of the 219 parliamentary seats contested. This time around, the contest will be for 222 parliamentary seats, after three new seats were added on following the redrawing of electoral boundaries in Sarawak.
Replying to a question, Najib dismissed an election promise of the opposition Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to make payments to housewives if it came to power.
“That is an opposition promise ... that’s not reality,” he said.

tunku : so what say the opposition? any chances to deny bn a two-third majority or there's no chance at all ? my only hope that the public will be wise enough when comes to voting.for bn to lose is not good for our country future but a landslide win also not good for our country.BE WISE. choose only the clean, smart and sincere candidates. are there any ?
