Tun Daim Confident BN Can Wrest Back Kedah

Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin is confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) will be able to wrestle back Kedah as the PAS-led state government had clearly failed to administer the state throughout its five-year term.

As such, he said it was important for all BN component party members to stay united and set aside all their differences and personal interests to ensure victory for BN in the 13th general election.

"I believe that the PAS-PKR-DAP pact will not win in Kedah...and I see BN component parties are now strongly united because the failure (of 2008 polls) have taught them a lesson to unite.

"Leadership come and go but parties remain. That's the most important thing. The (BN component) parties must be good and unite," he told reporters after meeting with Umno Youth and Puteri members here Wednesday.

In his speech earlier, Daim also reminded the people in Kedah not to make another mistake in choosing their leaders as it could only cause problems not only to the state, but also to the country.

He said the people should choose a government that was capable of implementing its policies and fulfilling its promises, instead of the one that was good only in making policies or promises without the intention of implementing or fulfilling any of it.
