Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi promised that there would be no political interference in the police force.
He said the police have full jurisdiction to uphold the law.
"There will be no interference whatsoever from me, my deputy or others at the ministry.
"The police will carry out its law enforcement duties to the fullest
extent," he told a press conference after his working visit to the Bukit
Aman police headquarters Monday.
He also said the police and
the Armed Forces would be holding discussions with the Attorney-General
Chambers in order to strengthen their case against four persons of
interest, who were involved in the Lahad Datu intrusion.
Ahmad
Zahid said complete documents had been obtained to build a case against
the four individuals involved-two from Peninsular Malaysia and two from
Sabah.
“We have obtained all the documents against the individuals.
“However, the police and the Armed Forces will have a discussion with
the AG Chambers regarding the matter in order to build a solid case
against those involved,” he said.
