JELI, April 12 (Bernama) -- Datuk Mustapa Mohamed has vowed to continue all missions planned by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the International Trade and Industry Ministry particularly to draw more foreign investors to Malaysia.
He said his new task was heavy amidst the world economic turmoil but he was confident that with cooperation from all quarters, the situation would be able to be dealt with so that the impact on the people would not be that severe.
"What were planned by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin when helming the ministry I will continue in collaboration with the others.
"I will perform the new task to the best of my ability especialy in promoting investments, both local and foreign," he told reporters after a thanksgiving function at his residence in Darul Falah here today.
Mustapa was previously Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister while Muhyiddin is now Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister in the new Cabinet unveiled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Thursday.
Mustapa said that the handing over of duties ceremony would be held tomorrow at his new office and thereafter, he would receive a briefing from the ministry's officers.
"I believe after two weeks, InsyaAllah, I can carry out the task efficiently after getting the true picture about the new ministry," he said.
tunku : with tok pa vast experiences especially in MoF,MeCD etc and hard working, i am sure he will do great in MITI with the help of his deputies which also has experiences in related fields.
