Umno General Assembly To Discuss General Election - Abdullah

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- The general election is likely to be heavily discussed at this year's Umno general assembly, said former Prime Minister and Umno President Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Monday.
"We are going to face the next general election, when is it we do not know, but from what I have heard this party meeting (Umno general assembly) will certainly address important issues to ensure we (Barisan Nasional) will be in power," he said in his speech when hosting an International Forum on Creation of a Global Citizen dinner reception Monday night.
The two-day forum, officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday was attended by 63 representatives from 22 political parties from 22 countries, the Overseas Umno Club (KULN), foreign embassy delegations and political analysts.
The forum was held in conjunction with the 2010 Umno General Assembly which will begin Tuesday.
Abdullah in his speech also said that he believed that Umno leaders had the determination to make the changes despite all the difficulties and challenges.
"If we want to reform, the party too must reform, this is going to be difficult and challenging task for the leaders of the party but I believe that they have the determination to make the changes which are necessary.
"We are now facing the world which is a new reality, a world that is becoming smaller, the world that certainly full with problems and challenges, we know what is happening all over the world because the communication, internet...this is a new world," he said.

tunku : all these problems are created by this sleepy head.during his tenure as the prime minister and president of umno, he had don't so much mistakes that Najib who had inherited a bad government from the sleepy head has to work very very hard to clean them.till now,the dirts are still there.Najib need to work extra hard and we wish he all the best and he has our full supports.

Dollah became PM was probably the greatest political accident in the history of this country.
They even gave him so many honorary PhDs'.
Whenever he or his SIL is mentioned, make me wonder what's wrong with this country.
