FT Gerakan backs Koh; calls Lim "old and senile"

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory Gerakan has come out in force to back its president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon against former chieftain Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik’s outbursts since Monday.
State treasurer Alan Chan Fui Gan called Dr Lim’s methods as “old” and “cannot pakai” (no longer applicable).
“I think Tun Lim is getting old and nyanyuk (senile). Maybe his methods cannot pakai anymore. There are changes coming to the party. Let the president handle the changes.
“You can’t force yourself in (to party matters) when you are not welcomed,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday.
State secretary Dr Wong Ruen Yuan said the state liaison committee backed Dr Koh in staying “neutral” from Penang Gerakan’s current leadership crisis.
“He is keeping neutral. Maybe it’s better that he doesn’t attend the EGM (on Oct 10) and let Penang solve its matters democratically,” Dr Wong said.
He added that Dr Koh may hold the position that by attending the state EGM, he could influence its outcome with his presence.
“It’s not that Dr Koh is afraid of attending the EGM but rather it is out of respect and democracy that Penang Gerakan is mature enough to solve its matters,” he added.
Dr Koh is also chairman of Federal Territory Gerakan chairman.
Dr Lim had resigned on Tuesday as party advisor, citing his frustration with Dr Koh’s “soft” handling of the Penang leadership crisis as a major reason.
At a separate press conference, national Gerakan Beliawanis chief Chia Ting Ting announced their acceptance of Youth’s proposal to merge the two wings.
“We strongly support that the Youth wing should be able to accept women youth in order to increase the rate of participation and representation of women in politics,” she said.

tunku : this ignorance will kill off gerakan soon but then again i don't think it will kill off gerakan as such as gerakan is already as good as dead.they forgot how pak lah made the party(umno)in bad position because of his ignorance attitude.learn from the past mistakes, don't repeat it.FT Gerakan too as good as dead, so it is not appropriate to call your ex boss as old and senile, at least the old and senile man made the party alive not like what it is now.

singaporeans do not respect their elder (government)leaders, the law force them to do so, you talk a little about them, the next hour lawyer letter comes to you.you end up in the jail then.
