There is no reason to oust Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin as he has performed well as Johor Mentri Besar, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
He said Khaled had done well in attracting foreign investments to the state and had a good relationship with the people of Johor.
Dr Wee, who is also Johor MCA chairman, was refuting an online post claiming that there was a plot to topple Khalid.
If the plot is successful, the post said, Khaled would be replaced by a deputy minister.
Dr Wee said the rumour was baseless and illogical.
“Only an assemblyman of the state can become the Mentri Besar,” he said at a press conference after witnessing the signing of an agreement between Brecon Synergy and 1541 Ltd here Thursday morning.
The agreement will see the setting up of the King Henry VIII College in Cyberjaya.
The college, which is scheduled to be opened in 2018, will cater to students between the ages of seven and 18.
