PETALING JAYA: Kota Alam Shah state assemblyman M Manoharan says he "deeply regretted" his tweets criticising national shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei's silver medal performance at the London Olympics on Sunday.
“I deeply regret the comments I have made and tender my heartfelt apologies to Dato' Lee Chong Wei and his family,” he said from his twitter account @mmanoADUN on Tuesday afternoon.
“I sincerely hope my apology will be accepted.”
Manoharan had taken to Twitter after the Olympic Games Badminton final on Sunday night, calling Lee Lee Chong AWAY' and calling for suggesting the PM to give monetary rewards promised for Lee to “poor boy” Lin Dan.
“If Chong played better than Lin Dan, why Chong Wei did not win? So who is talking nonsense?” he Tweeted, to outrage from the local Twitter sphere who pointed out that Lee had been injured and therefore had less time to train.
tunku : we only accept apologies if manoharan did this once but he had on many occasions twitted on sensitive issues and disgrace either a person or the country's flag.its very easy today you say something, day after tomorrow you apologies and then few months later you do it again and again you apologies. to hell with manoharan and his apologies. LCW should never accept his apologies ever as this apologies came after pressure from the party,it was not made sincerely.there is another species like manoharan in pas, that is nizar.
