Kedah Government Urged To Act On Entertainment Outlet Operations

ALOR SETAR, July 16 (Bernama) -- The Kedah government has been urged to monitor the mushrooming of entertainment outlets in the state and act against those operating without a licence and staying open until the early hours of the day.
State Umno liaison chief Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said many bloggers and social media Facebook users had raised the issue and expressed concern, indicating that society was against the proliferation of such entertainment outlets.
"Some people have likened Alor Setar to Danok (Thai border town) for having too many entertainment joints that operate until early morning and we don't know whether these joints are licensed or not," he said after chairing a state Umno Liaison Committee meeting, here, today.
Ahmad Bashah said the situation was contrary to what Pakatan Rakyat had promised in their manifesto for the last general election.
"It appears that they promised not to do this and that just to garner votes, but after they won Kedah they've washed their hands off many issues of concern to the public."

tunku : pas can do anything to get votes, they can sell their values, principles , struggles and event their religion to get votes. alor setar was a town of peace and harmony has been turned around by pas with so much "development" of new pubs and discos.shame on pas and their so called ulamas and ustaz.
