KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- Lynas Corporation Limited, which has been receiving adverse publicity for over a year arising from its rare earth processing plant in Pahang, feels vindicated following an apology from Free Malaysia Today, an on-line news portal.
Its Chairman Nick Curtis said Lynas had always maintained that its plant at the Gebeng Industrial Estate, near Kuantan, was safe to the community within which it operates, and had based this view on scientific facts.
"The plant was thoroughly tested during the extensive and efficient reviews by the relevant regulators," he said in a comment emailed to Bernama when asked on the portal's apology.
In its website, www.freemalaysiatoday.com, Mtoday News Sdn Bhd apologised over articles it had published previously, claiming that the Lynas plant may be unsafe to the people.
"We apologise for these publications as such claims do not have a scientific basis. The regulatory review of the Lynas plant has been thorough and diligent," it added.
tunku : at last they realize their lies doesn't work.
