What is MCA formula?

by Awang (Utusan)
Like others, Awang hopes MCA will emerge quickly from its quagmire following the dismissal of its deputy president, Chua Soi Lek.
Soi Lek’s removal has become a controversy. On the one hand, Awang agrees on his sacking to protect the image of the party. But the
question is why now after he rose to become deputy president from vice-president after being chosen by the delegates at the MCA’s
elections.
It is not the first time MCA is embroiled in a political row. The party had endured it a few times before including the worst crisis ever during the in-fighting between Neo Yee Pan and Tan Koon Swan almost two decades ago.
In the latest episode, MCA President Ong Tee Keat’s position looks shaky. He is seen to be losing grip of the party. His image is affected as he is linked to the scandal-ridden Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ). If the Transport Minister portrays confidence, able to garner tremendous support quickly and get the backing of most of MCA leaders, he will pass the hurdle.
Awang is confident that MCA will regain its strength but what is the formula? Among them might be enlisting a mediator besides sorting things out at the extraordinary general meeting or reviewing the decision to sack Soi Lek. But to withdraw the decision is unwise and will open a floodgate to the opposition to exploit the issue.
So if all these formulas will not work, the last resort to salvage MCA is for both leaders - Tee Keat and Soi Lek to step down. Are they willing to do so?

tunku : soi lek and tee kiat should kiss and say goodbye to their post and position.the president committee should nullified their decision to sacked soi lek.the fight has become personal between them.both of them have to quit.this is the only solution we can see for MCA right now.

Well i totally agreed soi lek is not a good image to MCA and Barisan Nasional.

Meanwhile tee kiat also having credibility issue within his own party members and the peoples (voters) regarding his 5+1+4 dealing with kuala dimensi.

Both leaders are dragging MCA downhill.

But among two of them tee kiat having a better chances to lead Mca ONLY IF he survives this nose dive regarding PKFTZ.

Soi lek actually not a good choice by the voters anyway. If BN ever put him to contest any place he wishes i do not think the voters would go for him. Soi lek regardless is a liability to BN.

Biggest mistake ever by tee kiat is by sacking soi lek. Actually without sacking him time would tell anyway BUT due too nervous about soi lek makes tee kiat bluntly sacked him.

Actually too late to sack soi lek with the reason given. Come on the mca members are not that silly to not comprehend the real motive.

Resulted from the designed sacking currentl mca is under worst scenerio ever after March 2008 PRU12. Actually time is not on MCA side to resolve the issue prior to PRU13 UNLESS both of them resign and replace by the new leadership.

tok kemuning,
you are right that soi lek is not a good choice but if he joins the opposition he will be a "god" then.

MCA has no choice.

Ong Tee Keat is best choice now due to Ling Liong Sik many years overstay MCA now lacks any young leader worth our time.
