KOTA BARU: PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has predicted that Umno is doomed because its practices and policies are against Islam.He said Umno would have better chances of survival if it competed against another secular party.
Umno was against Islam as the main thrust of its policy was to champion the cause of the Malays, not Islam, he said.
“Umno is sure to die and it is only a matter of time before this happens.
“Umno made the biggest mistake by championing a policy that only offers worldly rewards,” Nik Abdul Aziz told reporters after launching a donation drive to build a RM7mil mosque at Bandar Baru Tunjong, a new Islamic-concept township, here, yesterday.
Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also Kelantan Mentri Besar, was asked to comment on the latest posting by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in his blog that Umno and Barisan Nasional were likely to share the same fate as Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, which ruled the country since World War II and was defeated by the Democratic Party of Japan in the recent general election.
Dr Mahathir also said the election result followed the trend of many political parties that had struggled and achieved independence that had disappeared.
tunku : nik aziz should remember that umno is about to fall but pas had fallen before it can even stand tall. even though pas has more seats than before but spiritually it has died.it has sold it's soul to others just because of greed of power.it has become so arrogant and it's is no longer the pas that practices Islam.now pas is practicing dap's and pkr's ideology.Islam and hudud laws are swept under the carpet.the senile old man should look at his party first before making statement at other party so that he won't look like stupid. what is pas doing for Islam in the state rules by them? there is no Islamic rule, Islamic principle or whatsoever. in fact there are more illegal immoral activities and entertainment outlets now than before under them.what Tun Mahathir said was an advice to all party generally which is right.it is totally different statement from nik aziz but as we know,who is nik aziz and who is Tun Mahathir.we can't expect nik aziz to talk smart when he's not.

Nik Aziz comments alaways very immature, embarassing and full of stupidity. With his Abu Lahab's turban and beard, he thinks he is a holy man.
Keep saying UMNO is against islam. So why he hugging DAP then. They support islam? Yes, for PAS' version.
Anyway, islam as Nik Aziz's or PAS perspective doesn't count because that's a fake islam. For them, taliban is islam, chopping head and cutting hands is islam. being a friend to the devil is islam.
Nik Aziz teaching is way out of from the truth. What was the news about? Donation for a mosque? This is what God says about people like Nik Aziz and PAS builds a mosque..
