KOTA BAHARU, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said there was no need for discussions with Umno as long as the party's struggle was not for the Islamic cause.He regarded a statement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in Kuala Krai yesterday on his willingness to discuss with PAS issues concerning Islam as an old issue and an attempt to play up the issue for the forthcoming election.
Nik Aziz, who is Kelantan Menteri Besar, also doubted the federal government's sincerity in helping the state.
"If (Najib) wants to protect Islam, it's better that Umno changes the party struggle from nationalism to fighting for Islam. Then only will it reflects its sincerity," he told a news conference at his office in Kota Darul Naim here on Tuesday.
However, he thanked the federal government for providing allocations for the state's development, especially for the Manik Urai constituency.
Speaking at a gathering and breaking of fast with the people at the Mara Junior Science College in Kuala Krai yesterday, Najib said he had approved RM8.9 million for development projects in Manik Urai as promised in the July 14 Manik Urai state seat by-election.

Nik Aziz cuba menampakkan dirinya masih relevan walaupun semakin menjadi 'duri' dalam PAS.
Islam dipergunakan sebagai pakaian untuk menutup jasadnya yang sudah mula reput dan hatinya yang berbau nanah.
Dia sepatutnya sudah di anugerahkan Phd Darjah Tertinggi oleh mana mana IPTA/S..
Di hatinya hanya kerja 'berperang' sesama saudara Islam.
Pay no heed to this senile old man. If you care to reflect you would observe that this man, this so called ulama, had been making contradictory statements time and time again. Somehow people tend to forget and forgive him for whatever contradictions and about-turns he had made. Why ?
Many a times I had said and I still stand by my conviction that had he NOT become a politician first and an ulama second, there'll be less reverence for him ! I would think if he had just stuck to his enigma as an ulama, people wouldn't care two hoots for whatever he says. Rightly so, as an MB he could make an impact with whatever statements he espouses, rightly or wrongly.
My advice is just ignore him and his tantrums coz just as the tide comes in and goes as is nature's way , so will his inconsistencies !
I pray to God that his power-weilding days in his party will come to an end, fast and surely ! There are many of us who have a bigger picture of things political in the country. A narrow-minded approach would not work in the present circumctances.
Sifat ulama tidak sombong dan angkuh. Mereka sentiasa bersangka baik terhadap sesama Islam. Mereka tidak akan menolak sesuatu yang boleh menyatupadukan ummah.
Jelas sifat-sifat diatas tidak ada pada Nik Aziz. Maka pada saya dia bukan ulama. Dia hanya seorang ahli politik yang mementingkan parti dan dirinya.

PAS tidak ada pemimpin yang lebih ikhlas dan lebih berkaliber ke? Kata perjuangkan Islam tapi akhlak tidak berlandaskan ajaran Islam:
1. Membenci sesama orang Islam dan lebih menyanyangi orang kafir.
2. Mempertahankan orang kafir yang menghina Islam
3. Tidak mahu merapatkan hubungan silaturrahim sesama Muslim walaupun ahli-ahli UMNO bersedia melakukannya.
4. Tidak mengamalkan konsep bermaaf-maafan sesama Muslim walaupun dalam bulan yang mulia ini
5. Sifat bongkak dan angkuh kerana menyangka diri lebih Islamik dari orang lain.
6. Mengeluarkan pendapat yang menyalahi akidah Islam yang sebenarnya sehingga mempengaruhi penyokong-penyokong yang cetek asas-asas ilmu ugama.
7. Lebih rela bekerjasama dengan orang yang buruk akhlak seperti "pengkhianat bangsa" dan orang kafir yang terang-terang anti-Islam(DAP).
Sebenarnya banyak lagi fakta yang boleh dibangkitkan tapi cukuplah setakat ini sebagai contoh.
Semoga Allah mengampuni dosa kita semua dan mengurniakan kita taufik dan hidayah supaya dapat membezakan yang hak dan yang batil.

Tuan-tuan dan Puan-puan, sekiranya kita tidak bersetuju dgn TGNA, kita secara beradab dan hormat berikan alasan kita. Kita harus mengawal perasaan kita dan cuba elak menggunakan perkataan yang kasar dan menghina saperti moron, nyanyuk, use your brain dsb etc. Kalau kita mengatakan mereka salah tidak bermakna kita berhak menghina dan mencerca mereka. Kita bentangkan alasan-alasan kita dan sampaikan secara beradab dan berhemah. Semoga Allah SWT mengampuni kita atas keterlanjuran kita.
It is about time for us to really think and learn about what the Tok Guru is saying in a positive and creative way, regardless.
We could not change the way of Tok Guru thinking overnite. I do not think after went thru with the BN during his parliment years. Furthermore with almost 20 years we have being treating him adminstratively whilst governing Kelantan doubtful he would easily change his perception about us. Tok Guru for sure would look deep into our eyes with 1001 and more things still to say about us.
Sorry to say we have denied this "old man" good governing gesture for almost more that 40 years. Even as of today with the issue of gas royalty to Kelantanese still we are bullying him. So then is it illogical then for us to expect him to be soft as a tofu overnite towards us. I do not think so.
More on our approach in Kelantan to regain trust with the Kelantanese for almost 20 years actually have failed. If we are keep using the same approach the Kelantanese would not bring us back to power.
Sadly to note after PRU12 we are using the same approach for Kedah, Penang and Selangor (and temporarily with Perak). Are we going to get a different results. I doubt. Our almost 20 years approach in Kelantan actuall is indirectly working against us.
We should respect the Federalism concept and for sure we would have the equal right to regain trust from the peoples of Kedah, Penang and Selangor.
Actually it is about us and the peoples. Our instrument of using PR for each misery facing by the peoples would not be a good selling to the peoples anymore.
Come on we should be more realistic before being further branded by our voters because we blamed every problem facing by PR states as Pakatan solely problem. One of the new reason...they do not know to govern. WRONG. Most of the independent voters that voted for them know better before accepting our propaganda.
In contrast are we advocating "Politics first, Rakyat later on" instead of 1Malysia. Or are we saying 1Malysia is for pro BN and not for peoples that pro PR.
