Saiful questions ‘VVIP’ treatment given to Anwar

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who accused his former employer Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sodomy, has questioned the “VVIP treatment” given to the Opposition Leader.
“Perhaps this is the advantage of being an accused with a VVIP status. If he was an ordinary person, it (the application) would have never seen the light of the day,” he wrote in his blog http://mohdsaifulbukhari.blogspot.com on Friday.
Mohd Saiful was commenting on the leave application by Anwar to disqualify the entire prosecution team in his sodomy trial.
Anwar had named Solicitor-General I Datuk Idrus Harun, Solicitor-General II Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden, DPP Datuk Nordin Hassan, DPP Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria, DPP Wong Chiang Kiat, DPP Shamsul Sulaiman, DPP Noorin Badaruddin, the Public Prosecutor and the Government as respondents in his application.
Anwar had filed the application for judicial review on Aug 11.
Mohd Saiful, who used to be a personal aide to Anwar, said the PKR leader was asking the entire prosecution team to be disqualified just because they were appointed by the Attorney-General.
“If this application goes through, then no one can prosecute him (Anwar).
“This is because the power to elect the prosecution team lies in the hands of the Attorney-General,” said Mohd Saiful.
Mohd Saiful said the same Attorney-General would have been pressured by Anwar to prosecute his “enemies” as soon as possible, if they had been accused of offences.
“But when he himself is accused, the Attorney-General is not allowed to prosecute with thousands of excuses given.
“What a hypocrite,” he said.
Mohd Saiful said he agreed with Senior Federal Counsel See Mee Chun’s submission that Anwar’s application was baseless and a mockery of justice.
On Thursday, See had told the High Court that Anwar had no constitutional right to choose the prosecutors for his trial.
Anwar, 62, pleaded not guilty on March 10 to sodomising Mohd Saiful at a condominium in Bukit Damansara on June 26 last year.

tunku : we too don't understand why this melodrama moron queen gets VVIP treatment from the court.who is he? is being an opposition leader gets more privileges than a government leader? what a lucky sodomizer he is.
