Sensitive issues a no-no at Umno general assembly

SEREMBAN: Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin has expressed his hope that delegates would not bring up sensitive issues at the party’s general assembly scheduled to be held next week.
“I hope delegates will not raise issues that touch on racial and religious sensitivities. We have to be cautious, not to be overzealous, as we have to consider the sensitivities of other races while championing the Malay agenda.
“There are ways in which we can deliver our message in pursuing our agenda without hurting the feelings of others. We cannot use the Malay agenda as an excuse because the BN represents all the people,” he told reporters after attending a workshop on the National Agriculture Convention 2007, where he was one of the panel members, here yesterday.
Khairy expects issues on agriculture to be the main topic when discussing the economy at the assembly.
“I hope the discussions will focus on specific measures for Umno to forward to the Government to develop the agriculture sector, especially in the economic development corridors,” he said.
Khairy also said Umno Youth would beef up its preparations for the next general election at the assembly to ensure a bigger win for the Barisan Nasional. – Bernama

tunku : it's ok not to raise issues that touch on racial and religious sensitivities but what about the current leadership? i bet that is what kayjay meant, don't touch on the leadership issue, anyone who touch it can say goodbye, nothing will be offered to you.just accept the leadership and worship them then you will success. Is that what we want and expect from our representatives?
