Sarawak Churches Association Disappointed With Opposition Leaders

KUCHING, April 14 (Bernama) -- The Association of Churches Sarawak has expressed regret that DAP, PAS and PKR leaders held a press conference on the association's meeting with them Thursday concerning the Bahasa Malaysia bibles issue.
ACS secretary-general Ambrose Linang said the breakfast meeting was held behind closed doors after they agreed to the association's request not to hold a press conference regarding it.
"Our association received an invitation from Selangor state executive councillor Teresa Kok of PKR to have a breakfast meeting with the leaders of these opposition parties and agreed on condition that political issues would not be discussed as we are non-partisan.
"Shortly after the meeting we left. However, we were disappointed to learn that these leaders held a press conference later," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Ambrose said the association would study the statements made at the press conference, and if there were political elements, it would issue an official statement.
"We are open to discussions with any party just like we had with the prime minister yesterday. However, we expect people whom we meet to keep their word," he said.
The meeting was attended by Opposition leaders PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, DAP Advisor Lim Kit Siang, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali, and PAS MP for Shah Alam Khalid Samad.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim skipped the meeting although he had been scheduled to attend it.

tunku : you can see very clearly the attitude of the pakatan compared to BN. after meeting with pm, pm did not gave any press conference about the meeting and what have been discussed with ACS but the pakatan used the meeting to their advantage in their election campaign.hope the christian in sarawak will not vote the party that had disappointed the ACS.

This clearly shows that the Pakatan does not keep its word.
The Sarawakians are not that stupid as to belief that Pakatan will honour all its promises to the people.
What political mileage can the Pakatan gain by doing this stupid act!
