KUCHING, April 12 (Bernama) -- Sarawakians should not vote for the DAP or its Pakatan partners if they did not wish to see people from the peninsula "taking over" the state should they win this Saturday's Sarawak state election, said Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Huan Cheng Guan.
"If Pakatan takes over Sarawak, they will import their people all the way from Semenanjung (Peninsular Malaysia) to Sarawak to 'cari makan' (for bounty)," he said.
He said the DAP had done the same thing in Penang when they won the state in the 2008 general election and treated the locals badly.
"They are number one in telling lies and spinning. They will promise everything under the sun, just to fish for votes. They promised to repaint 15 blocks of the Rifle Range Flats in Penang in one month if they won the state in the election, but till today nothing has been done.
"They also use strong arm tactics to bully small time traders and demolish hawker stalls which causes hardship to the locals. There is also no transparency and nobody knows to whom state contracts are awarded," he said in a statement today.
He said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was a short-tempered chief minister who liked to quarrel with everyone and till today ran the state like they were the opposition whereas they were in fact the government.
"They are the government with no vision. Where is the blueprint for Penang Island and Butterworth. They just know how to spin everyday. They are good at stirring up racial and religious issues and like to promote hatred. They also cannot take criticisms," he said.
Huan also claimed that the Penang state government was number one in issuing summonses (by Penang and Seberang Prai municipal councils) , which caused hardship to the people of Penang.
"They are also good at deceiving the public -- DAP means "Deceive All People". Upon taking over the Penang government, they increased the water tariff, parking fees...Saturday and Sunday also collecting parking fees till midnight," he said.
He said Lim was a man with a small heart, where upon capturing Penang, DAP kicked out their hardcore and long time supporters like Thum Weng Fatt and others.
Huan said they (DAP) also promised to implement road signs in Chinese in Penang but till today had not made good on that promise.
"I urge the brothers and sisters in Sarawak not to fall into Pakatan's trap, they can sweet talk and promise everything under the sun, but in the end nothing will happen," he said.
In this 10th Sarawak state Election, PCM is making its election debut by going for six seats in rural Malay and Iban areas, which are Simunjan, Balai Ringin, Ngemah, Machan, Kakus and Bekenu.
