Mugilan Says No Letter Of His Sacking From Samy Vellu
KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has sacked deputy Youth chief V. Mugilan, according to close party sources.
However, Mugilan who yesterday asked Samy Vellu to step down immediately after the president announced his retirement plan, said he had yet to receive any letter from Samy Vellu.
But he has been flooded with phone calls and SMSes and heard of his expulsion from news flashes.
If confirmed, Samy Vellu had broken the pact they had made in Kuala Kubu Baru prior to the Hulu Selangor by-election with the party chief promising that he would not take any action against him, said Mugilan.
He said if he received an official notice, he would take the matter up with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
"Samy Vellu said I sabotaged BN in the by-election. This is a very serious allegation as it involved the whole BN. So, it is only right I seek the PM's attention on this matter," he told Bernama.
When contacted, he said he was in Tanjung Malim.
On Tuesday, Samy Vellu announced that he would step down eight or nine months before his term ends in May 2012.
The MIC president could not be reached for immediate comment but a close party source said he had used his presidential power to expel Mugilan with immediate effect.
Mugilan said the issue of him sabotaging the party and BN during the Hulu Selangor by-election was not touched upon at the CWC meeting last week.
"If I had sabotaged, MIC would have lost by 3,000 votes. Instead, I worked hard to make sure Indian votes were delivered to BN," he said.
He also accused Samy Vellu of thinking of himself as the "king" of the Indian community.
"He is a dictator if he sacked me," said Mugilan.
He said that he and Samy had a discussion at the MIC Kuala Kubu Baru office where the president had asked him to support BN candidate P. Kamalanathan and the MIC election machinery.
In exchange, Samy Vellu promised that he would not take any action against him for the alleged sabotage.
"We made a pact. I said I would support BN and MIC. So, what is this now? It has been a few weeks since the by-election. Why only now he thinks of wanting to expel me?" Mugilan asked.
Barat Maniam To Appeal Sacking From Mic
KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- V. Subramaniam, or Barat Maniam, who was sacked from the MIC a week ago after sending an SMS to party president Datuk Seri Samy Vellu questioning his authority, said Thursday that he will appeal the expulsion.
He also told a news conference on Thursday that the proposed sale of Maika Holdings should be stopped and the government should appoint a independent audit firm to investigate and resolve the Maika Holdings issues.
He said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should also be involved in view of the many reports made by various parties so that the real culprits were exposed.
Subramaniam thanked port tycoon Tan Sri G. Gnanalingam for coming forward with a rescue plan to buy over Maika Holdings.
However, he said, Maika Holdings should call for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to consider and adopt several resolutions, among others, to ascertain the true value of the Oriental Capital Assurance shares belonging to it and the balance of the land bank in Tumbok Estate near Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, in order to sell the assets transparently in the open market.

Samyvellu is a liability to BN.If he resigns only in 2012 as indicated it will too late to salvage the MIC.Its best if he go now to enable younger leaders to revamp the party. His sacking of Mugilan is typical gangster filem Tamil punya cerita!
