DAP Practising Double Standards, Says Noh

TANJONG KARANG, May 23 (Bernama) -- The DAP is practising double standards as the party has kept silent on the alleged corruption involving Selangor-owned sand mining company, Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB), state Umno deputy liaison chief Datuk Seri Noh Omar said.
"Why is the DAP keeping silent on alleged corruption when it involves a company linked to the oppostion-ruled state government, but will make an issue when it involves the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration?
"What has happened to DAP' s original struggle to combat corruption in the country. It is clear that the party is practising double standards," he told Bernama after opening the annual conference of the Parit 2 Umno branch, near here, Sunday.
Noh was commenting on the allegation made by Kapar member of parliament S. Manikavasagam that there were corrupt activities involving senior officials of KSSB, a subsidiary of the Selangor government, that is responsible for sand mining in the state.
Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had said that the allegation of corruption in KSSB would be referred to the Special Select Committee for Competency, Accountability and Transparency or Selcat.
Noh, who is Agriculture and Agro-based Minister, felt that the allegation of corruption should be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and not Selcat.
He said the opposition including DAP was losing its sense of direction and was no longer relevant in struggling for Malaysia's multi-racial society.
"The opposition, especially DAP, had on numerous occasions insisted on the formation of a special commission to investigate allegations of misappropriation involving the BN government but chose to keep silent when faced with the same allegations.
"This shows that the opposition's fight against corruption is mere rhetoric," he added.

tunku : dap is only fishing for votes when they shout about corruption etc.in penang, the party get kickbacks from the contractors who are awarded contracts from the state government.in selangor, pakatan get kickbacks from almost all the contractors awarded with state's projects. they talk about CAT etc but it is all lies.they accused BN but they are doing all that in the state they are ruling. for them, corruption is for BN and for them is donation like preached by nik aziz.for BN is haram but for them is halal. any royal commission is for BN not for them. they are untouchable.God curse them.
