Four State Police Chiefs Appointed


KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has appointed four senior officers as the police chiefs of Selangor, Perak, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.
The posts became vacant following transfers or retirement of the respective state chiefs.
Bukit Aman Public Relations chief Supt. Rasdi Ramli in a statement issued here today, said Acting Kuala Lumpur Chief SAC I Zul Hasnan Najib Baharudin has been appointed to head the city police with the rank of DCP.
The post became vacant following Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Yusuf's retirement in December.
Bukit Aman CID Deputy Director 1 Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar is the new Selangor Police Chief, replacing Datuk Ismail Omar who has been transferred to Bukit Aman's Management Department as a director.
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah will replace Datuk Aziz Bulat who has retired as Perak's CPO with the rank of Acting DCP, while Sabah Deputy Commissioner SAC I Noor Rashid Ibrahim takes over as Sabah Police Commissioner with the same acting rank.
Rasdi said a few other officers were also affected by this latest reshuffle of the PDRM top brass.
They are Bukit Aman Narcotics Department Deputy Director Datuk Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin who has been promoted to be its director, replacing Datuk Abang Julai Abang Wahap who retired last month; Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes Deputy Director II Datuk Abdul Razak Ab Ghani who will take over as Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner and Perak CID Chief SAC II Patrick Jiges Sijore who will be Kuala Lumpur's new Deputy Police Chief.
