KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- A non-governmental organisation today questioned why Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat did not take any action against his son-in-law, Abdul Ariffahmi Abdul Rahman for alleged mismanagement of a government-linked company.
Pertubuhan Jaringan Melayu Malaysia national secretary Tengku Amalluddin Sani Raja Ahmad Sufian said until today no action had been taken against Abdul Ariffahmi after he relinquished his post as chief executive officer of Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated early last year.
Tengku Amalluddin Sani said Nik Aziz should have taken action against Abdul Ariffahmi instead of passing the buck to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Nik Aziz should not wait for the MACC to conclude its probe, he told Bernama here Monday.
The MACC started investigating Ariffahmi, who was appointed CEO of the corporation on Sept 20, 2009, on issues pertaining to financial misappropriation and on a sponsored haj trip at the end of 2009.
Tengku Amalluddin said as a responsible leader, Nik Aziz should take appropriate action against Abdul Ariffahmi, whom he had promoted as the CEO.
"Instead, Nik Aziz continues to defend his son-in-law," he said.
Abdul Ariffahmi's services was terminated by Nik Aziz following the advice of national PAS leaders and public outcry.
tunku : what make this ngo think that nik aziz would take action against his son in-law? he will never take any action against his family members or even his party members as they are all saint in his eyes.even though they do all sort of things, nik aziz will defend them no matter what.
