Penang CM claims island left out of ETP

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is unhappy that the state is not offered any project or development from the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
He said that the Federal Government had advertised in newspapers that there were 19 projects with RM67bil investment that created 35,000 jobs but Penang did not get a share.
As Malaysia had 13 states and the Federal Territories, Penang should at least get one of the 19 projects.
“Don’t discriminate against us. When electrical and electronic industry is the most dynamic in the world, we are supposed to have it here. But it goes to Malacca.
“Just like the heritage fund where Malacca got RM30mil while Penang got not even one sen,” he said in a press conference after visiting the Whiteaways Block in Beach Street Tuesday.
He added that Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Office Senator Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop have to answer to this.
“I want to ask Dr Koh as he looks after the Key Performance Index (KPI) and National Key Result Areas (NKRA).
“Is this his way of siding Penang, that is elek (none in Tamil), apa pun tak da (nothing at all),” he said.
However, he said Penang would continue to work hard and co-operate with the Federal Government so they could better develop Penang and Malaysia.
Projects under the ETP included agriculture, education, healthcare and tourism.

tunku : if the federal government wants to discriminate penang, penang will not have any FDI or DDI in the state.the pakatan government only talks in penang but no action.all they know is giving out the state lands to developers for quick bucks by chasing out the people from their houses.guan eng should be ashamed of himself,he should prove to the penangites that he is a capable cm and can bring investments to the state.now he's crying for federal's to help.where is the competent leaders in pakatan ? where is anwar the moron who claims to be superb in economics and finance and has billion of investments in hand?????? this is what happens when you elect morons to be the government.
