Opposition MPs Refuse To Offer Explanation On Alleged Insult Against Malay Rulers

KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) -- Opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) alleged to have mocked and ridiculed the Malay rulers during the installation ceremony of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at Istana Negara on April 11, refused to offer any explanation or make any effort to deny the allegation.
Instead, Azmin Ali and Tian Chua of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Khalid Samad of PAS questioned the credibility of Dr Rahman Kadir, a medical officer who wrote about the alleged incident in his social web page.
Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, also held Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) responsible for sensationalising the issue.
"From the feedback I received, it's clearly a propaganda of Umno and BN. Who is this doctor? How can a medical officer sit in the Balairong Seri of the Istana Negara?" he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here Monday.
Meanwhile, Tian Chua also rejected the proposal to set up a Royal Commission to investigate the incident, saying that Dr Rahman did not have any solid evidence and witness in connection with the alleged incident.

tunku : opposition leaders are known to be traitors to the Rulers and nation. they do what they want without having the respect for the country and the Rulers. if dr rahman is lying why don't these jokers like tian chua, azmin and khalid samad are not suing him? sue him for defamation.if you keep denying like this with your stupid theories that means you are twisting the facts.if you really didn't say those words , sue him asap.why can't a doctor be at the balairong seri? is it wrong? under what law or regulation?
