KUALA LUMPUR: The Bersih 3.0 sit-in rally is not a security issue, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hueesin.
He asked that the organisers talk to the police to ensure that the Peaceful Assembly Act 2011 is not contravene.
Although the Act has not been gazetted, the spirit of the law should be upheld, he told reporters at Parliament lobby.
He hoped the organisers would pick a suitable venue so as not to disrupt the daily public life.
The organisers of the rally calling for immediate reforms of election rules have named Merdeka Square as the venue of the rally on April 28
tunku : i don't undertstand why hisham and his ministry is so soft when comes to the opposition. just give the ultimatum, you do whatever you want to do in the stadium.period. no marching on the streets or merdeka square etc. do in every state, every district you wants to but do it in the stadium.the police should not be liable and be responsible for the security matters , the organizers should be held responsible for everything.if they don't follow these rules, then take stern action on them.no mercy.
