Stop Personal Attacks On Zaid, Urge DAP

PENANG, April 19 (Bernama) -- DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today urged Barisan Nasional (BN) to stop personal attacks against Datuk Zaid Ibrahim as respect for "someone who has repented".
He said campaigning for the Hulu Selangor by-election should be clean and morally correct with no attempts to touch on any candidate's personal matters.
"We respect Zaid when he says he has repented and I feel that it sets a good example compared to those who refuse to change," he told reporters here today.
Lim, who is also Penang Chief Minister, said the opposition pact also did not make personal attacks on the BN candidate and instead focused on current issues such as land and corruption.
The Hulu Selangor by-election this Sunday will see a four-cornered contest involving BN candidate P.Kamalanathan, Zaid from PKR and two independent candidates, V.S.Chandran and Johan Mohd Diah.
Yesterday, Zaid was quoted as admitting to being a heavy drinker and reports in a newspaper regarding his past behaviour was said to be old news.

tunku : i guess BN is learning it from the opposition on personal attacks.whenever there is election, the opposition had always attacked the BN candidates personally.at this time around they have nothing against Kamalanathan, so they are urging BN to stop attack Zaid.taste your own invented medicine.the funny part is when come to their leaders, they will say that the leader had repented...bertaubat.

The DAP urging others to "stop personal attacks"?! Pegidah! What a bunch of hypocrites -- when it comes to personal attacks, this party is way up there in the league. Or was it some other DAP who had made ceaseless, assorted attacks against Najib and Rosmah, for instance?

Now it's suddenly riding the high horse with this preaching. Wonder why... ahahaha! The baggage carried by the PKR candidate - yeah, I guess this doesn't go down well with conservative Malay-Muslim voters.

Get off the high horse, SHORTY!

1. Correct, let them have a taste of their own medicine. That had been having a field day during past by-elections ; and now the table has been turned !

2. With the BN candidate having an almost flawless and a very clean record, these PR hypocrites and their leaders have got the cheek to "beg" for a clean campaign when all this while theirs had been nothing short of dirty, vile and full of lies !

3. I fervently hope that this time the voters will keep a calm head and NOT be riled and influenced by the lies, deceits and false accusations of the PR. On record i.e to expect good guidance from their leaders is actually asking for the moon. Worse still, their 'beloved leader' whose antics at creating illusions, in and outside of his private life', is clear testimony of the kind of ill-guidance that he would thrust upon his followers.

4. So it is no surprise if these crazy supporters show their ill-mannered dispositions throughout this campaign, starting from the Nomination day right to the day when matured voters go to the Polls. It wouldn't be a surprise too, in fact even expected, for these election-hooligans to create disturbances at the voting centres. You'll have an opportunity to see Malaysian hooliganism at its best at these centres esp when 'cajoled' and encouraged by irate and immature & undisciplined leaders !

5. To the BN candidate I say, "Good Luck" ! May the people see the truth !
