At Last, ISA for Hindraf leaders.

Five Hindraf leaders detained under ISA

PETALING JAYA: Police said they have detained all five leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) under Section 8 (1) of the Internal Security Act.
The five are P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, R. Kenghadharan, V. Ganabatirau and Vasantha Kumar. They were picked up at various locations in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Seremban.
They will be detained for two years.
Yesterday, was released on police bail after having been arrested on Tuesday for a second sedition charge.
Uthayakumar was among three Hindraf leaders who were charged at the Klang Sessions Court on Nov 23 for allegedly making speeches to incite hatred at a gathering in Batang Berjuntai, Selangor, on Nov 16.

tunku : GOOD JOB and well done, majority of malaysian support this move but there are others too which needed to put under ISA, one of them is wayta moorthy.

I do not support ISA, please count me out of your "majority". Nothing more than a sweeping statement

If your family member is caught under ISA...will you feel the same ?

ISA is a law that is only beneficial to government and not the citizen of it. Think again about it

World is condemning the draconian detention of these men who are giving their life for human rights.

Life is not just about being a parasite on others. It is about appreciating others human rights.

One day, you will realise

wasabi,
my family member has not done anything stupid or try to create racial tense, so "berani buat berani tanggunglah".

moral of the story "DON'T BE STUPID" and "ACT SMART".

detention without trial is wrong under every circumstance. it's as simple as that.

seem lots of people complaining about the ISA, let's see if the BN wins again then for sure majority support ISA.why don't opposition campaign on this, vote for bn means vote for ISA.let's see majority with whom, the opposition or the bn.as for me i'm with ISA thing, it's a very good preventive tool.

The government instead of listening to the discontent and grievance of the people, implemented ISA to curb the freedom of speech.

And you were a major part of it Tunku. The matter wouldn't have reached this far if only the government is serious and genuine in handling problems faced by children of this land. Shame on everyone who supports ISA including you.

It seems tunku doenst understand what is human right is, just like our politicians.

They need draconian ISA to make sure there isnt anyone to question them.

Have you heard any of barisan nasional members been arrested to ISA?

On second thought, may be tunku sound like a racist. If this is the issue then....
Today your neibours house is in fire so you're laughing as much as you can. but tommorow when the same fire burn your house will you laugh?

So tunku think before keying in anything.
Since youre very smart, pls help them to solve thier problem rather than condeming them.

true citizen,
shame on you because you don't understand the the constitutional of this country.if government is so ignorant of the people's plight, they won't be ruling this country for 50years now.and if you want to change them go ahead by all means thru the ballot boxes.

jonathan,
get your facts right, even umno leader has been arrested under ISA.i'm no racist, and i have more non malay friends than malay friends.but when someone tries to go over the limit we need to remind them.
they can solve their problems if they use their brains not thru rallies.

I'm all for the ISA!

The rakyat have the human right to have Public Order. The street walkers don't represent me and don't they dare say they represent the majority.

If any member of my family were a part of it, I'd kick his ass in the ISA even before the Govt recommends it!

This ain't Pakistan where they're stupid enough to go to the streets just to replace a dictator with a knowned corruptionist who had raped the country off billions and lived in exile. Paki idiots!!!

And you people ain't Thai citizens who can actually make a difference because unlike the street walkers here, they DO represent the majority there.

Oh, yes sir I will and BN is definitely going to lose my vote.

I don't wish to keep an apathetic government that choose to dictate with impunity

a "constitutional" is a walk for your health! (and we all know how unhealthy these days taking a walk can be!) maybe you mean "the constitution"?

the ISA was actually a very unfortunate hangover from colonial days, brought in by the british administration in 1948 to combat the communist insurgency

the first PM Tunku Abdul Rahman actually said that the act was to be used solely against the communists ... but his wishes were of course subverted later for political expediency

just hope these poor guys aren't subject to the humiliation and torture that other ISA detainees have faced

do you also condone that??

WAT IF UR FAMILY MEMBER IS CAUGHT UNDER ISA.THOSE WHO USE ISA ARE COWARDS!!!! VERY SOON WESTERN COMPANIES WILL THINK TWICE OF INVESTING IN A COUNTRY RUN BY FOOLS AND COWARDS

tunku said...

again i'm saying if my family member did something wrong and there are charged under ISA,well they DESERVE IT.
by all means true citizen, vote the opposition and try to get as many voters for opposition, it's your chance to change whatever you want to change, again i'm saying thru the ballot boxes, not like gangsters.
sharon bakar, have you ever been detained under ISA? what humiliation they faced?if the humiliation is because they are arrested then they deserved it.there are some detainees who completed their laws while being detained..
regarding foreign investment, they care a damn of the ISA, all they know is the make profits and they know the can make profits here because of the stability but the street rallies by the idiots may shy them away.

IT IS OFFICIAL THAT TUNKU & ALL THE PPL SUPPORTING ISA ARE STILL IN THEIR 3RD CLASS MENTALITY. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS CERTAINLY HAVE NO VALUE IN MSIA. ALL THE RALLIES HELD DOES NOT DISTURB THE PEACE NOR DOES IT EFFECT THE ECONOMY. THE CONSEQUENCES AND THE TROUBLES FACED BY PUBLIC IS DUE TO POLICE ACT(ROADBLOCKS)
50 YEARS BY SAME GOV.... HOW SURE R U TAHT THE ELECTION IS TRANSPARENT. THE CURRENT GOV CAN SIMPLY CAST PHANTOM VOTES AND EMERGES AS THE WINNERS IN THE ELECTIONS.
IF THE PPL ARRESTED IN ISA DESERVED IT...SO DO THAMBIK CHIK, HISHAMUDDIN AND NAZRI FOR THEIR INSENSITIVE RACIAL COMMENT AND OUTBURST
WHAT A DOUBLE STANDARD!!
THESE RALLIES,BERSIH,HINDRAF AND BAR COUNSIL IS A SHOW OF DESPERATION THAT HAVE FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. WATS THE POINT OF DEMOCRACYIF U CANT EVEN SEND A MEMO TO A MP ELECTED BY YOU.I HOPE MORE MALAYSIAN ARE AWARE OF UMNOsation and plz dont be IGNORANT LIKE TUNKU.

Hey Biblio,

ISA detainees here are well fed and if read Tunku's poting up there, you'd see that some even did post graduate while in there. The 5 monkeys who were detained got to see their family the first day they were in.

Why don't you impose your righteousness on the Americans and fight for thoses detained without trial and were proved tortured in Gitmo and denied access to their families instead?

Don't be a hypocrite and condemn Malaysia like they we don't know how to run our own country while your caucasion brothers murdered and mamed half a million based on lies!

Go back to your cotton picking self and stay out of Malaysian politics.

real deal - one criticises what one cares about, you know!

i don't condemn malaysia - just know that things could be ruin a whole lot better.

yes it is fun being ISAd - i forgot that. time to read s. husein ali's book again i suppose

or maybe i should go and have a cup of tea with my friend whose husband was detained under ISA 9and whose fear and desperation i well remember) ... or with another friend much scarred by the experience but now getting on with life

i know we'll have a chuckle

i don't condone at all Guantanamo and never have

why do you think i would not hold fast to my basic principles?? i repeat again, imprisonment without trial is wrong in all cases.

since i live here and have probably been here and involved in this country since or well before(i guess judging by the maturity of your comment) you were even born , i feel perfectly entitled to comment on things here. i could be more malaysian than you mate!

there is always 2 side on a coin. in this particular sense, ISA is the right thing to do. I have hindu neighbours and after the hindraf hoo ha they are so afraid to come mix with malays. Even their kids seems to have 'dissappeared'.

The govt should have done this long before. But they do not want to be seen racial. Its common ppl like me who is calling for them so
that they will be a stop to all these nonsence.

Detention without trial is wrong ??! Yeah, freedom comes with a price you yob. You dont simply
do what you please dog. Its NOT FAIR to others who toe the line.
Especially racial and sensitive religious matters.

you can claim you are more malaysian than others .. talk is just talk. others too can say the same. in the end the rubbish being uttered does not help the situation because none of it is moving us anywhere. Stern action has to be taken just as what they did to al-maunnah.

now you hear this. I never supported the BN government but in general they are wise when dealing with this kind mess. The majority on the contrary is not, do you know who the majority i am talking about .. do you??? So ISA is the only way to condemn the responsible
cows and spare the innocent ones mr call malaysia your second home or whatever you think you are sir.

Now, this is directed to mr or miss peacelover. We are all aware of phantom voters. That why we have BERSIH and we made the govt look stupid that they have to spray and harassed the rakyat. But comes along this pariah and swing the advantage over to the govt.. overnight they become saviour. Because more and more ppl do feel that such demo is deemed improper.
Dey Pundek! even NUBE have to cancel their piket you know????

You can say ppl have 3rd class mentality but long before we can see a change in governance in this beloved country, opposition pariahs with zero class mentality like you should be romoved first. thats the only way I see the opposition in this country can influence current and future administration to be better, you moron!

I believe the above represent my freedom of speech and eventhough i think the tone are rather rude (but not out of context) yet it serve you freedom of speech provocater. You give the people who believe in freedon of speech a bad name. We dont fight like this in Malaysia so you go to hell. You make it difficult for us everytime!!!! niamah!!

And I forgot to say that any action taken by the govet should benefit the WHOLE Country. Indians, Chinese or Malat that you is not just in Kuala Lumpur lahh! niamah! In this sense its correct.

p/s: In communist china they line ppl up, covered their eyes and execute military style.
