S'gor MB: State civil servants to get same amount of bonus as Federal counterparts

SHAH ALAM: Civil servants in Selangor will get the same amount of Hari Raya bonus as their Federal counterparts.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the state government would ensure that civil servants in the state enjoy equality in terms of bonus payouts, if the Federal Government declares a bonus in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri next month.
“If the Federal staff gets it, so will the civil servants working in the state. This is not about one-upmanship.
“It will be the same (amount) because it relates to pension,” he told reporters at the state secretariat Monday.

tunku : why have to wait for federal government's announcement? pakatan said they are "negeri kebajikan" etc, they care for the people and whatsoever but when come time to help them they want to wait for BN's government decision first. you said your state's income has gone up tremendously under your administration, why just don't give the bonus or at least declare it right now? this clearly shows that they don't know how to manage, they just simply follow and copy others.

Some health guidelines for fasting

This article provides useful advice on how to avoid some common problems encountered in Ramadan. If followed, it would enable one to fast comfortably and enjoy fully the spiritual benefits of Ramadan.
During the holy month of Ramadan, our diet should not differ very much from our normal diet and should be as simple as possible. The diet should be such that we maintain our normal weight, neither losing nor gaining. However, if one is over-weight, Ramadan is an ideal time to normalize one's weight.
In view of the long hours of fasting, we should consume slow digesting foods including fibre containing-foods rather than fast-digesting foods. Slow digesting foods last up to 8 hours, while fast-digesting foods last for only 3 to 4 hours.
* Slow-digesting foods are foods that contain grains and seeds like barley, wheat, oats, millet, semolina, beans, lentils, whole meal flour, unpolished rice, etc. (called complex carbohydrates).
* Fast-burning foods are foods that contain sugar, white flour, etc. (called refined carbohydrates).
* Fiber-containing foods are bran-containing foods, whole wheat, grains and seeds, vegetables like green beans, peas, sem (papry), marrow, mealies, spinach, and other herbs like methie, the leaves of beetroot (iron-rich), fruit with skin, dried fruit especially dried apricots, figs and prunes, almonds, etc.
The foods eaten should be well-balanced, containing foods from each food group, i.e. fruits, vegetables, meat/chicken/fish, bread/cereals and dairy products. Fried foods are unhealthy and should be limited. They cause indigestion, heart-burn, and weight problems.
AVOID
* Fried and fatty foods.
* Foods containing too much sugar.
* Over-eating especially during the meal before Dawn (sehri. or suhur)
* Too much tea during the meal before Dawn (sehri. or suhur). Tea makes you pass more urine taking with it valuable mineral salts that your body would need during the day.
* Smoking cigarettes. If you cannot give up smoking, cut down gradually starting a few weeks before Ramadan. Smoking is unhealthy and one should stop completely.
EAT
* Complex carbohydrates during the meal before Dawn (sehri. or suhur) so that the food lasts longer making you less hungry.
* Haleem is an excellent source of protein and is a slow-burning food.
* Dates are excellent source of sugar, fibre, carbohydrates, potassium and magnesium.
* Almonds are rich in protein and fibre with less fat.
* Bananas are a good source of potassium, magnesium and carbohydrates.
DRINK
* As much water or fruit juices as possible between iftar (Breaking fasting) and bedtime so that your body may adjust fluid levels in time.
Common Medical Problems
CONSTIPATION
Constipation can cause piles (haemorroids), fissures (painful cracks in anal canal) and indigestion with a bloated feeling.
Causes: Too much refined foods, too little water and not enough fibre in the diet.
Remedy: Avoid excessive refined foods, increase water intake, use bran in baking, brown flour when making roti.
INDIGESTION AND WIND
Causes: Over-eating. Too much fried and fatty foods, spicy foods, and foods that produce wind e.g. eggs, cabbage, lentils, carbonated drinks like Cola also produce gas.
Remedy: Do not over-eat, drink fruit juices or better still drink water. Avoid fried foods, add ajmor to wind-producing foods.
LETHARGY ('low blood pressure')
Excessive sweating, weakness, tiredness, lack of energy, dizziness, especially on getting up from sitting position, pale appearance and feeling faint are symptoms associated with "low blood pressure". This tends to occur towards the afternoon.
Causes: Too little fluid intake, decreased salt intake.
Remedy: Keep cool, increase fluid and salt intake.
Caution: Low blood pressure should be confirmed by taking a blood
pressure reading when symptoms are present. Persons with high blood pressure may need their medication adjusted during Ramadan. They should consult their
doctor.
HEADACHE
Causes: Caffeine and tobacco-withdrawal, doing too much in one day,
lack of sleep, hunger usually occur as the day goes by and worsens at the end
of the day. When associated with "low blood pressure", the headache can be
quite severe and can also cause nausea before Iftar (Breaking Fasting).
Remedy: Cut down caffeine and tobacco slowly starting a week or two
before Ramadan. Herbal and caffeine-free teas may be substituted. Reorganize
your schedule during the Ramadan so as to have adequate sleep.
LOW BLOOD SUGAR
Weakness, dizziness, tiredness, poor concentration, perspiring easily,
feeling shaky (tremor), unable to perform physical activities, headache,
palpitations are symptoms of low blood sugar.
Causes in non-diabetics: Having too much sugar i.e. refined carbohydrates
especially during the meal before Dawn (sehri or suhur) . The body produces too much insulin causing the blood glucose to drop.
Remedy: Eat something at suhur (sehri) and limit sugar-containing foods and
drinks.
Caution: Diabetics may need to adjust their medication in Ramadan,
consult your doctor.
MUSCLE CRAMPS
Causes: Inadequate intake of calcium, magnesium and potassium foods.
Remedy: Eat foods rich in the above minerals e.g. vegetables, fruit,
dairy products, meat and dates.
Caution: Those on high blood pressure medication and with kidney stone
problems should consult their doctor.
PEPTIC ULCERS, HEART BURN, GASTRITIS AND HIATUS HERNIA
Increased acid levels in the empty stomach in Ramadan aggravate the
above conditions. It presents as a burning feeling in the stomach area under
the ribs and can extend upto the throat. Spicy foods, coffee, and Cola
drinks worsen these conditions.
Medications are available to control acid levels in the stomach. People
with proven peptic ulcers and hiatus hernia should consult their doctor well
before Ramadan.
KIDNEY STONES
Kidney stones may occur in people who have less liquids to drink.
Therefore, it is essential to drink extra liquids so as to prevent stone formation.
JOINT PAINS
Causes: The increased pressure on the knee joints during Salat. In the elderly and those with arthritis this may result in pain, stiffness, swelling and discomfort.
Remedy: Lose weight so that the knees do not have to carry any extra
load. Exercise the lower limbs . Being physically fit allows greater fulfillment,
thus enabling one to be able to perform solat with ease.

MCA's Loh censures Guan Eng over press freedom

PETALING JAYA: MCA has delivered a stinging rebuke towards Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over his intolerance towards unfavourable media coverage.
Central committee member Loh Seng Kok said Lim is “absolutely uncompromising” towards any criticism or unfavourable news from the media.
He said this was proven by Lim's actions in barring certain media from covering his functions but at the same time, turning a blind eye over verbal and online abuses by DAP members and cybertroopers towards the media.
“The phrase press freedom' is an irony coming from his mouth,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Loh said that before The Star described Lim as a street fighter' and his strained relationship with the Chinese press, Lim had already formed an opinion that the media was out to slander him and that any news reports on him were lies.
“But his arguments on these were weak. In the end, Lim's statement had insulted reporters by underestimating their knowledge and intelligence,” he said.
Loh said Lim's inability to accept criticisms and his rudeness were not conducive to press freedom.
“What is more shameful is that he continues to claim that he has good relationships with the Chinese press, but on the other hand he does nothing to stop DAP members such as Hew Kuan Yau from insulting and criticising reporters, creating a culture of hatred and violence,” he said.

tunku : for dap what freedom means is they can say whatever they want to anyone but other people can't say anything to them. they can critic other people but no one can critic them. they are just "untouchable".this is dap way of freedom. they walk the crap.

Aidilfitri Bonus For Civil Servants Being Studied - PM

PEKAN, July 21 (Bernama) -- Bonus payment for civil servants in conjunction with the Aidilfitri will depend on the capability of the government to do so.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak told reporters here that he would have to look at the 'account book' of the government first concerning the matter.
He disclosed this when asked to comment on the request for a bonus by the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) recently.
Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman had said on July 16 that the congress was looking for the best approach to ensure that the bonus paid to the 1.4 million civil servants would not result in certain parties taking the opportunity to raise the prices of goods.
Najib was approached after handing over cheques to Felda Phase 2 settlers and clothings to mosque officials as well as aprons to traders and spectacles to Pekan residents at the Pekan Umno Hall, here today.
In his speech, the Prime Minister reminded those who were dissatisfied with the government not to hinder efforts by the government to bring development to the country.
Citing the example of the listing of the Felda Global Ventures Holding (FGVH) shares on the stock exchange, he said those who had tried to obstruct the move had bad intentions because they did not like to see the government assisting the people in raising their income.
"Don't obstruct government efforts to develop the country and the people, not supporting is alright...in this matter (FGVH listing) we cannot obstruct because it is a good thing and it is for the benefit of the people," he said.
Speaking to reporters later, Najib said if the settlers wished to buy additional shares, they must buy the shares in the open market.
"Felda must assist the settlers to buy them in the open market at current prices...although the settlers were offered 800 units of the shares when they were launched, they would still receive the profits because 20 per cent of the FGVH shares had been put into a trust fund which would pay dividends to them every year," he said.
Asked on the press reports about the preliminary list of Barisan Nasional candidates, of whom 50 per cent had been rejected, Najib said: "We have not finalised the candidates and we will finalise it when the time comes...so everything is speculative now."

tunku : looks like there will be some good news for civil servants before aidilfitri. people first performance now.

The Virtues of Ramadhan

Ramadhan is one of the twelve Arabic months. It is a month which is venerated in the Islamic religion, and it is distinguished from the other months by a number of characteristics and virtues, including the following:

1 – Allah has made fasting this month the third pillar of Islam, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Sawm (fasts) that month…”
[al-Baqarah 2:185]
and it was narrated in al-Saheehayn (al-Bukhaari, 8; Muslim, 16) from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Islam is built on five (pillars): the testimony that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; establishing prayer; fasting Ramadaan; and Hajj to the House (the Ka’bah) ; paying zakaah;.”
2 – Allah revealed the Qur’aan in this month, as He says in the verse quoted above (interpretation of the meaning):
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong)…”
[al-Baqarah 2:185]
And Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’aan) down in the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree).”
[al-Qadr 97:1]
3 – Allah has made Laylat al-Qadr in this month, which is better than a thousand months, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’aan) down in the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree).
And what will make you know what the Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?
The Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months).
Therein descend the angels and the Rooh [Jibreel (Gabriel)] by Allah’s Permission with all Decrees,
(All that night), there is peace (and goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn”
[al-Qadar 97:1-5]
“We sent it (this Qur’aan) down on a blessed night [(i.e. the Night of Al-Qadr) in the month of Ramadan — the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]”
[al-Dukhaan 44:3]
Allah has blessed Ramadaan with Laylat al-Qadr. Explaining the great status of this blessed night, Soorat al-Qadr was revealed, and there are many haadeeth which also speak of that, such as the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month which Allah has enjoined you to fast, during which the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained up. In it there is a night which is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.”
Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 2106; Ahmad, 8769. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 999.
And Abu Hurrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever spends Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, will be forgiven his previous sins.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1910; Muslim, 760.
4 – Allah has made fasting Ramadaan and spending its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward a means of forgiveness of sins, as was proven in al-Saheehayn (al-Bukhaari, 2014; Muslim, 760) from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” And al-Bukhaari (2008) and Muslim (174) also narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever spends the nights of Ramadaan in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
The Muslims are unanimously agreed that it is Sunnah to pray qiyaam at night in Ramadaan. Al-Nawawi said that what is meant by praying qiyaam in Ramadaan is to pray Taraweeh, i.e., one achieves what is meant by qiyaam by praying Taraaweeh.
5 – In this month, Allah opens the gates of Paradise and closes the gates of Hell, and chains up the devils, as is stated in al-Saheehayn (al-Bukhaari, 1898; Muslim, 1079), from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When Ramadaan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.”
6 – Every night Allah has people whom He redeems from the Fire. Imam Ahmad (5/256) narrated from the hadeeth of Abu Umaamah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “At every breaking of the fast, Allah has people whom He redeems.” Al-Mundhiri said: there is nothing wrong with its isnaad; and it was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 987.
Al-Bazzaar (Kashf 962) narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah has people whom He redeems every day and night – i.e., in Ramadaan – and every Muslim every day and night has a prayer that is answered.”
7 – Fasting Ramadaan is a means of expiation for the sins committed since the previous Ramadaan, so long as one avoids major sins. It was proven in Saheeh Muslim (233) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The five daily prayers, from one Jumu’ah to the next and from one Ramadaan to the next are expiation for (sins committed) in between, so long as you avoid major sins.”
8 – Fasting in Ramadaan is equivalent to fasting ten months, as is indicated by the hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim (1164) narrated from Abu Ayyoob al-Ansaari: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan then follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be like fasting for a lifetime.” Ahmad (21906) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan, a month is like ten months, and fasting six days after al-Fitr will complete the year.”
9 – Whoever prays qiyaam in Ramadaan with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him that he spent the whole night in prayer, because of the report narrated by Abu Dawood (1370) and others from the hadeeth of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays qiyaam with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him that he spent the whole night in prayer.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Salaat al-Taraaweeh, p. 15
10 – ‘Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to Hajj. Al-Bukhaari (1782) and Muslim (1256) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to a woman among the Ansaar, “What kept you from doing Hajj with us?” She said, “We only had two camels that we used for bringing water.” So her husband and son had gone for Hajj on one camel, and he left the other for them to use for bringing water.” He said, “When Ramadaan comes, go for ‘Umrah, for ‘Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to Hajj.” According to a report narrated by Muslim, “… is equivalent to doing Hajj with me.”
11 – It is Sunnah to observe i’tikaaf (retreat for the purpose of worship) in Ramadaan, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) always did that, as it was narrated in the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to spend the last ten days of Ramadaan in i’tikaaf until he passed away, then his wives observed i’tikaaf after him.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1922; Muslim, 1172.
12 – It is mustahabb in the sense of being strongly recommended in Ramadaan to study the Qur’aan together and to read it a great deal. You may study the Qur’aan together by reciting it to someone else and by having someone else recite it to you. The evidence that this is mustahabb is the fact that Jibreel used to meet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) every night in Ramadaan and study the Qur’aan with him. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6; Muslim, 2308.
Reading Qur’aaan is mustahabb in general, but more so in Ramadaan.
13 – It is mustahabb in Ramadaan to offer iftaar to those who are fasting, because of the hadeeth of Zayd ibn Khaalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever gives iftaar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 807; Ibn Maajah, 1746; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 647. see question no: ( 12598 )
And Allah knows best.

Azizan Lied Over Purchase Of Felda Shares

ALOR SETAR, July 20 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak had lied to save himself following the purchase of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH) shares by Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK).
Kedah state assembly opposition leader Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said as the menteri besar and chairman of the state subsidiary, Azizan would know about the purchase of the 500,000 shares.
"I used to be the menteri besar and chairman of PKNK. All cheques above RM1 million issued by PKNK must be signed by several people and one of them was the chairman."
Mahdzir said in a statement here today that PKNK would have to issue a cheque for RM2.275 million to buy the 500,000 shares priced at RM4.55 per unit.
"A cheque for this amount must be signed by Azizan. I wonder why he lied to the people by saying it escaped his knowledge."
He said Azizan's attitude is regrettable as he often took the escape route and refused to be responsible for any issues that did not favour him.
Recently, PKNK bought 500,000 FGVH shares at RM4.55 per unit although Pakatan Rakyat opposed its listing on Bursa Malaysia.
The Kedah state government then directed PKNK to sell back the FGVH shares.
Azizan had said the purchase of the shares escaped his knowledge and common practice as PKNK was given the right to purchase shares deemed profitable.

tunku : azizan enters ramadhan with a great lie.what a shame.

Don't Miss Ramadan's First Night

When Allah Favorably Looks at His Servants

With the approach of Ramadan every year, I always recall the following Prophetic hadith:
"My people (Ummah) are granted five gifts that no prophet before me had been given. First, when it is the first night of Ramadan, Allah looks at His servants. He will never punish those at whom He looks. Second, the smell of their mouths when night approaches is more pleasant [to Allah] than the scent of musk. Third, angels seek Allah's forgiveness for them everyday and night. Fourth, Allah commands Paradise saying, 'Be prepared and adorned for My servants; they are about to be relieved from the pains of the worldly life and move to My Home and Honor.' Fifth, when it is the last night (of Ramadan) Allah forgives the sins of all people." Thereupon, a man asked, "Is it the night of Qadr (Power)?" He (the Prophet) said, "No, don't you see that once workers finish their tasks, they take their wages?" (Ahmad and Al-Bazzar)
In addition to enjoying common merits of the nights of the blessed month, the first night of Ramadan is singled out with particular virtues. According to the above hadith, in Ramadan's first night Almighty Allah looks favorably at His servants and He, Most High, will never punish those at whom He looks.
Reflecting on the great divine gift that a Muslim, man or woman, could have in the first night of Ramadan, some questions came across my mind:
Why the first blessed night of Ramadan is singled out with such a unique position over the other nights?
At whom will Allah look in that blessed night?
How could I — as well as my beloved Muslim brothers and sisters — be favored with Allah's look on that night?
Of course, Ramadan's first night is blessed with these great favors of Allah for a divine wisdom that He, Almighty, knows. It may be — among other reasons — because it is the opening gate to the month of mercy, forgiveness, blessings, and freedom of Hellfire.
Many people, unfortunately, ignore and don't prepare themselves for the special merits of the first night of Ramadan. Some people busy themselves with the day-to-day affairs and live it as the other nights of the year. Some people go shopping, enjoy entertainment, etc., and miss being among those whom Allah will favorably look at in that night.
Blessed with such a great divine gift and blessing, Ramadan's first night does deserve a special program and due attention. Due prior preparations should be made and a plan should be set. It is a very precious night that occurs only once every year. So, we should not miss it.
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) drew our attention to the this unique and blessed time. He said,
"When the first night of Ramadan comes, the devils and rebellious jinn are put in chains, and the gates of hell are closed, none of them remains open. The gates of heaven are opened and none of them remains closed. And a caller calls, "O seeker of goodness, come forward, and O seeker of evil, desist. And Allah has many (in this month) who will be freed from Hell.' This announcement is made every night." (At-Tirmidhi)

Special Program
If a Muslim, brother or sister, wishes to be among those at whom Allah will look, he or she should work for it. They should expose themselves to Allah's favor, mercy, forgiveness, and blessings. The following program may help us gain the divine gift of Ramadan's first night:
1. Determine to refrain from doing evils and sincerely repent your wrongdoings. 2. Intend to fast the whole month of Ramadan with unswerving faith in Allah and looking for taking the reward from Him alone. 3. Say the night dhikr (remembrance of Allah) shortly before the sunset of the last day of Sha`ban, preferably in the masjid. 4. Go to the masjid to offer the Maghrib Prayer in congregation; sisters may pray at home if they like. 5. Sit in the masjid, with the intention of i`tikaf (spiritual retreat in the masjid), and engage yourself in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and Qur'an recitation until `Isha' Prayer. 6. Pray `Isha' and Tarawih in congregation with devoutness and sincerity. 7. Smile when you meet your fellow Muslims and wish them a happy Ramadan. 8. Before sleeping, do some virtuous good deeds such as giving in charity, reciting the Qur'an, making dhikr, visiting sick people, etc. 9. Wake up for the suhur (predawn meal) and pray qiyam (Night Vigil Prayer) before Fajr. 10. Go to the masjid to pray Fajr; sisters may pray at home. 11. Sit after Fajr in the masjid, reciting the Qur'an and making dhikr, to pray Duha after sunrise. 12. Remember to supplicate Allah for the suffering Muslims everywhere. 13. Throughout the night, earnestly ask Almighty Allah to favor and look at you with His mercy and forgiveness in this blessed night. 14. Encourage your family and friends to take the chance of the blessings of the first night of Ramadan. May Almighty Allah look at and bless us all with His favors and blessings. May He guide us to what is best in this world and the world to come, Amen.

Making Malaysia's Days In The Sun Last

New York, Hong Kong, London...Kuala Lumpur? Malaysia is going gangbusters. Now, it must sustain the momentum.
The Southeast Asian nation is home to the world's second and third largest initial public offerings this year—the $3.3 billion listing of Felda Global Ventures and IHH Healthcare's $2 billion IPO. Meanwhile, the benchmark KLCI hit a record Wednesday after rising almost 7% this year.
State backing for Malaysian equities is a factor. Felda's IPO was largely bought by government-backed investors such as individual Malaysian states. Mandatory retirement savings boosts domestic pension funds that typically invest a lot in the local market too.
The economy is also performing well. Unemployment is low. Inflation is benign at about 2%. Gross domestic product growth is around 5%. That is important because the Malaysian stock market is mainly comprised of domestically focused companies.
Diverse exports are also relatively robust. Commodities like palm oil, petroleum and gas make up about a quarter of exports, while electronics and manufactured goods make up the rest. HSBC notes that Malaysia's exports are down just 2% since last August, compared to a 13% aggregate decline for shipments from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The country's banks look healthy too. Asset quality is strong and deleveraging by European banks isn't a big threat, says Moody's. "Their claims on the Malaysian economy amount to a mere 5% of GDP," notes the rating company.
Still, there are risks that warrant caution. A prolonged slump in global trade would hurt. Net exports are equal to about 16% of GDP—much higher than the ratio for neighbors such as Indonesia and the Philippines.
Politics is a wildcard too. Prime Minister Najib Razak wants to improve infrastructure and boost investment in sectors including oil and gas and tourism. Investors must hope that agenda stays on track regardless of the outcome of an election expected by early 2013.
Much of the good news may be priced in. Malaysia's benchmark stock index trades at about 15 times current earnings. Some analysts say that is rich. Malaysia has momentum. But much now depends on domestic politics and the depth of the weakness in global trade.

PKNK CEO Might Be Sacked?

Y.Bhg Dato’ Hj. Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK) risks the probability of being sacked for humiliating PAS through the issue of buying FGVH shares.
Dato’ Abdul Rahman previously confirmed that PKNK had bought 500,000 FGVH shares which became controversial because it was fully objected by the opposition. His actions gave a huge blow to Dato’ Seri Azizan Razak, Kedah's Chief Minister because it clashes with the mission of Pakatan Rakyat.
Mazlan Aliman who championed this issue within PAS was said to have been raged with the action and expressed the matter to leaders of central PAS.
Central PAS previously gave a special order to its members to help Mazlan Aliman by joining the Orange rally last Saturday with the objective of suspending FGVH shares. With PKNK buying the shares, this had put PAS in a tough, and weird position, while Mazlan Aliman is seen as a clown.
The objection towards FGVH listing is not a small issue. That matter was raised by PAS that it turned to one of the biggest issue for the coming election. Thus, PKNK's action in buying the shares which was objected by PAS is surely their biggest mistake. For that, a person should be fully responsible.
Dato’ Seri Azizan Razak who is often blurry, confused and 'empty', tried to repair the situation by saying that it was 'technical error' and that PKNK could sell off the shares.
It is clear that the PKNK Chairman did not want to be responsible, as usual. That is the burden goes to PKNK's CEO, Dato’ Abdul Rahman.
When the fact is, the decision made by Dato’ Abdul Rahman was not fully on him, it should have been decided by the Board of Directors of PKNK. There is no way that they would invest RM2 million of their money without discussing the matter with the Board.
Dato’ Abdul Rahman has been in the industry for a long time, obviously with his knowledge, he had given it a long thought before buying FGVH shares. He was obviously looking for profit.
Too bad, no he faces the pressure to sell off the shares.
It seems like his experience did not really matter among PAS who puts politics in front of everything. Dato’ Abdul Rahman would probably end up being their scape goat for this issue to safe Azizan's face and to relief PAS's rage.
If this happens, then PKNK would suffer two losses where they had to sell of their FGVH shares and that they would lose Dato’ Abdul Rahman. But all that do not really matter for PAS, as long as they have issues and materials for the campaign in the near future.

tunku : if azizan is saying that he's not responsible and do not know about the buying of FGV shares, then he as the chairman of PKNK must take action against the person who bought the shares or else he's lying that he doesn't know about those shares bought by PKNK.

OPPOSITION’S INTERPRETATION OF PUBLIC ORDER AND PUBLIC FREEDOM

Public freedom and public order – two different terms and meanings – but to the oppositions, whose aim is to take over Putrajaya, public order is meant to allow them to stage street protest in the name of public freedom.
To the oppositions, particularly Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and PAS, public freedom is staging street protests and writing twisted and slanted articles that created doubts towards the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders.
Articulate and refined in their writings, the issues and allegations they raised and the manner they were presented were thought provoking to the upper class population whose minds are filled with idealism, as propagated by the oppositions.
That is public order to the oppositions where street protests reflect democracy practice ignoring the need to care for the feelings and economic beings of others who have different minds than theirs.
Public order to them is for the authorities to allow them to do what they want in public because that is their public freedom, not withstanding to later claim police brutality, complete with videos and photos.
The recent Bersih 3.0 rally is a good example of how they managed to mould the public’s minds on who is right and who is wrong…even Suhakam’s inquiry seems to put the blame on the police who, the public acknowledged was very soft in their handling of the situation.
And this is where the pro-BN bloggers fail to compete as they (pro-BN bloggers) lack information to disseminate to counter the allegations. The BN leaders are not co-operative in this sense as knowledge is power and without that, pro-BN bloggers have not much to go with to counter the offensive.
Failure to effectively counter the issues raised and allegations made have dampened efforts to ‘turn over or influence’ members of the public whose doubtful minds have been slowly moulded with the so-called ‘idealism’ of public freedom and public order.
One thing the opposition bloggers possess which beats pro-BN bloggers – they have the stamina and drive to continue attacking, at times driving the hammer on the same issues again and again such as scorpene and Altantuya – while pro-BN bloggers are seasonal and always keep deviating from one issue to another.
But whatever the ‘cyber war’ is coming to, both side of the political divide seem very determine to fight till the end.

CM Ordered To Sell FGVH Shares: Kedah Do Not Know Business

Just to 'care' for his party, Dato’ Seri Azizan Razak made a statement for PKNK to 'let go' of their 'luck'.
However, this is not surprising because all these while PAS do put politics in front of rakyat, or even religion.
The excuse given by Azizan was the it was a 'technical error' and that proves that he truly do not know anything about things that are happening within his organization, his state nor even his party, perhaps everything is just a little too late for Azizan.
Perhaps Azizan was not aware that he is the Chairman of PKNK? How can a Chairman, cum CM can miss such huge investment, RM2 million, which was done by the main organization in the state government to generate the socio-economy of the state?
How can such good decision been taken as 'technical error'?
Actually, the error is not the share, it is Azizan himself.
Azizan probably got confused when he was asked upon this matter. This can be seen when he stated that the decision made by PKNK do not clash with PR, when the big issue here is that 'PR rejects the Felda listing'. Thus, how can he say that there was 'no clash' between PKNK's decision with PR?
Azizan also seemed to be unable to provide concrete answer when he said that he "left PKNK to consider and make the next decision including to sell off the shares". It seems that Azizan did not get to know or do not know how to make decision and putting the burden back to PKNK. When the fact is, he is the backbone of PKNK.
There is no way that PKNK had never done any meeting without its Chairman and there is no way that the Chairman was not informed on the purchase of such controversial share. As Chairman, Azizan should have sat together with PKNK's Chief Executive Officer to analyze FGVH's shares before coming to any decision.
We understand that PKNK is not the only organization which is under the responsibility of Azizan but PKNK is the main organization for Kedah. So, there should be no excuse for Azizan to miss such issue especially when it involves on RM2 million deal. We are aware that Kedah's financial state is in a chronic stage and RM2 million is quite a huge amount for the state.
Who knows what lies for Kedah, under the administration of a Chief Minister who do not know anything. Not just that they do not have projects that could generate the state's income, they also cannot invest or make any business.
Azizan should have made the right decision for the state and its rakyat. Rakyat had chosen him to take care of them and to manage the state, not the party. Thus, he should think wisely on who should he focus more on. By putting politics in front of rakyat, and putting his own responsibility to others, Azizan himself had shown that he is not the right person to be the Chairman of PKNK or even the CM.

tunku : what a stupid excuse given by azizan. he is the mb of kedah and chairman of pknk.how come he doesn't know anything about it. this clearly shows that kedah is ruled by a dumb mb.

Haram to try to topple Muslim gov’t, says Mecca cleric

A member of the Masjidil Haram fatwa council has said that it is forbidden in Islam (haram) for Muslims to support groups that intend to oust a Muslim country’s government.
Utusan Malaysia quoted Sulaiman Saloomi (right) as saying that demonstrations are forbidden even if the leadership had gone against Islamic teachings, and that the leader should be “advised” instead.
Sulaiman, who serves at the mosque that surrounds the holy Ka’abah in Mecca, reportedly said that toppling a Muslim government was wrong, especially if the replacement brought greater danger to society.
Utusan quoted Sulaiman as citing the Prophet Muhammad while speaking in Kuala Terengganu on the topic of Islamic unity and saying that those who tried to divide Muslims should be killed.
The prophet was narrated by the authority of ‘Arfaja to have said: “Different evils will make their appearance in the near future.
“Anyone who tries to disrupt the affairs of this ummah (Muslim community) while they are united, you should strike him with the sword whoever he be. (If remonstrance does not prevail with him and he does not desist from his disruptive activities, he is to be killed.)”

tunku : here in malaysia pas want to topple muslim government and replace it with a kafirun government.

Was Dr Mahathir A Politician Or A Doctor First?

BANGKOK, July 19 (Bernama) -- Was former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad a politician or a medical doctor first?
Contrary to common belief that he joined politics after practising medicine, Dr Mahathir said he was first a politician and then obtained his medical degree to gain credential in pursuing his political career.
Dr Mahathir, who served for 22 years from 1981 as the fourth prime minister of Malaysia until he stepped down in 2003, mentioned this when he was being interviewed during "A Power Dialogue" here last night.
He was interviewed by Abdul Halim Ismail, who is also the Asean secretary-general widely known as Dr Surin Pitsuwan.
Dr Surin, a Muslim who hails from Nakhon Si Thammarat in the middle south of Thailand and was attired in a dark suit and a white skull cap in a rare public appearance, posed the question during a dialogue between them at a gala dinner in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of "Pondok Bantan" (the local Islamic religious school).
Dr Surin, a former Thai foreign minister, became the Asean chief in 2008. His term will expire by the end of this year.
Proud to declare himself "a Pondok student," Dr Surin holds a Master's degree and a PhD in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University.
Asked where would Malaysia be now without the Vision 2020 he introduced to make the country a developed nation, Dr Mahathir said the country would still progress but probably without any focus as the vision determined its direction and plans.
Touching on the formation of the Asean Community by 2015, Dr Mahathir said the regional group must avoid the mistakes made by the European Union.
"The European Union is in trouble today because it can't work for the benefit of all members as it focuses on the rich members only. Asean must make sure the poor countries would benefit from the community too," he said.
Asean, he said, must avoid the mistake of introducing a common currency which, he added, benefits the rich countries only but makes the cost of living in the poor countries to rise dramatically.
As for globalisation, he said, Asean must look into the interest of the poor countries too as they would not benefit from a freer market.
"The globalisation comes from rich countries and we must not adopt it 100 per cent. We must examine ourselves. We don't want the rich to become richer and the poor, poorer."
Answering a question from the floor, Dr Mahathir said Asean needs to ask fellow member Myanmar to stop what he said was oppression against the Rohingya ethnic minority.

Learn From The East, Mahathir Tells Islamic Nations

BANGKOK, July 19 (Bernama) -- Islamic nations must learn from the countries of the East if they wish to overcome the challenges of modernity and globalisation, said former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said many countries of the East have mastered the knowledge and skills of industrialisation so that they are able to compete with the West and to grow their countries into rich economies and powerful nations.
"Such is their strength that they are able to ward off Western hegemony and overcome the challenges of modernity and the threats posed by globalisation," he said.
Speaking at a gala dinner in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the "Pondok Bantan" (local Islamic religious school), here, last night, he said the first need was to acquire and upgrade their knowledge of sciences because modern technologies were based on science and mathematics.
"We must also acquire skills in modern administration and governance as well as knowledge of the workings of the modern economy and its management," he said.
Dr Mahathir said all these would take time but countries like South Korea have been able to accelerate the process.
"While we have to be patient, we must find out how (South) Korea has transformed from a backward country into an industrial giant," he said.
Touching on Malaysia's desire to become a developed nation by 2020, he said the country needed good government in realising its dream.
"In the democratic system, when a government fails to deliver it can be overthrown in the next election. No uprising by the people, no violence would be needed.
"Good government requires good leaders, particularly the man at the very top. He should be someone who loves the country and the people more than himself. Such a person would be less likely to abuse his power or succumb to corruption," he said.
Dr Mahathir said Muslims must continually upgrade their capacity to overcome the challenges of modernity and globalisation so as not to lose again as they did in the 15th century.
He said the struggle to overcome the challenges of modernity and globalisation was endless.
He said the Muslim civilisation once dominated the world but about the 15th century, the situation changed when Muslims decided to forsake the acquisition of knowledge other than what they considered to be concerning their religion.
He said that at that time the sciences, including Alchemy or chemistry and mathematics, were considered to be non-religious and which gave no merit for the afterlife.
At that very time, he said, the Europeans, impressed by the greatness of the Muslim civilisation, decided to acquire the scientific and mathematical knowledge of the Muslims.
Dr Mahathir said they studied Arabic in order to do this and it was the challenge of modernity of that time that they had to face and overcome, and they overcame.
"Not only did the Europeans reconquer land lost to the Muslims, they went on to conquer most of the Islamic countries. By the end of the 19th century, almost all Islamic countries were under European rule," he said.
The gap between the Muslim civilisation and the European civilisation widened and, even after the Muslims regained their lost land, they were constantly being defeated by the new ideas, ideologies and strategies developed by the Europeans to perpetuate their dominance.
He said the changes that they initiated and carried out became the standard for the whole world and these changes represented modernity which Muslims were forced to accept or be left behind.
"The Muslims were literally left breathless as one change followed another. No sooner do Muslim countries adjust and adopt the new ideas and ideologies when another idea is conceived, promoted and forced upon the world by the Europeans," he said.
In the financial market, he said, Islamic countries had fortunately avoided going for easy profits but there would be new ideas coming out of the West for making easy money.
"The challenge is to recognise them and to decide when to seize the opportunities created by them and when to reject them," he said.

tunku : no doubt this great statesman is born as a brilliant politician. so he was always a politician first before other things.

Land Beneath Water: Khalid Ibrahim & Tony Phua Lied

In trying to defend the Selangor Government's decision in buying land owned by Talam which 80 of it consist of water, Chief Minister, Khalid Ibrahim and DAP Publicity Secretary, Tony Pua had lied to rakyat, Selangor rakyat especially, by claiming that Bursa Saham and Security Commission had made evaluations on the price of the land.
In short, DAP and Selangor government tried to defend their decision in buying the overpriced land which do not bring any profit and at the same times uses the names of Bursa Saham and Security Commission. What they are trying to tell is that the purchase is legit and the price has been evaluated by through the right channel.
However, everything changes on July 12 when Trinity Corporation Berhad (previous name for Talam Corporation Berhad) came out with a notice to Bursa Saham saying that the statement given by Khalid Ibrahim and Tony Pua claiming that Bursa Saham and Security Commission had made evaluations on the price of the land is NOT TRUE.
Here is the link which can be used as reference:
http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/company-announcements/1010201
This then raised another question about the credibility of both of these leaders who dared to lie to rakyat just to cover the scandal within the administration for spending people of Selangor's money.
We need to remember that prior to 2008, Talam Corporation owed money to Selangor government, but when Pakatan Rakyat took over, things went the other way round - state government owed money in order to settle Talam's financial issue when Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) bought all of Talam's debt to a few other state government subsidiary companies worth RM392 million.
That is just the cash part, other transactions including transaction of property asset worth RM676 million is one of the things that are being debated now.
And while Khalid Ibrahim as the CM tries to convince Selangor rakyat that the debt management actually follows all of the procedures, we were then shocked by statement made by Talam themselves saying that the evaluation process of the property did not include any third party (Bursa Saham and Security Commission) like what was claimed by Khalid & Tony Pua.
So can we say here that it is true what MCA Youth Professional Bureau Chief, Datuk Chua Tee Yong said that the land at Bestari Jaya which was bought by Selangor government from Talam is actually RM42 million more expensive than regular market price?
Writer cannot see why we cannot say such thing. Even though during a press conference, they did say a lot of things, but to make things short, Khalid Ibrahim and Tony Phua only defended the transaction with one excuse - Bursa Saham and Security Commission had made evaluations on the price of the land, which is now proven to be a lie.
This actually show that, within two weeks, Pakatan Rakyat was caught red handed twice. First was when they used the names of Bursa Saham and Security Commission to justify their purchase, and the second time was when yesterday, a pro-opposition media portal, Free Malaysia Today (FMT) openly admitted that they had given wrong facts regarding Lynas Corporation Berhad – fact which was used 100% by Pakatan Rakyat supporters in objecting the operation of Lynas in Malaysia.
Conclusion is, there are a lot of doubts when it comes to financial management for Selangor since it was controlled by Pakatan Rakyat. Being at the top, obviously companies such as Talam, who had severe debt prior to March 2008, could influence Selangor government, under Pakatan Rakyat to take over the debts that by the end of the day, rakyat had to suffer from Khalid Ibrahim's actions.
And that is just one matter, there are more big issues ahead and the big one would be near, water that is.

tunku : welcome to selangor where everything is possible under the pakatan government. lying is the top policy of the state government.

DAP Received Bribe From Scorpene

We are aware of how Pakatan Rakyat, through SUARAM had made a heavy accusation to the Malaysian Government and the Prime Minister that they were involved in corruption, and even murder, during the transaction of purchasing Scorpene submarines by the Defense Ministry.
To justify their accusation, SUARAM had linked the government and France's legal system by saying that the case is on trial at the country and a few names, including the PM, would be given subpoena.
But, recently, SUARAM had taken the action of keeping themselves quiet when the government managed to prove that there is no trial involving any Malaysian politicians nor the government. Thus, no subpoena is going to be given to anyone. Even the french embassy in Malaysia was confused with SUARAM"s rudeness where they used the name of Judges, Court and even the French government just so that that could bring down Malaysian government.
Companies such as Thales and Terasasi had no involvement with the business transaction for Scorpene. Even Perimekar clearly not the one who receive any commission, but legitimate pay on their service in preparing places to stay, allowance, holiday tickets, training cost for officers, crews and staff and the management cost and coordination for six years.
French police then confirmed that SUARAM lied when the name Altantuya which was linked to the PM and Abdul Razak Baginda had never entered France when the transaction was on process.
Things get more interesting when SAUARAM was found to be registered as business organization and that they receive funds from some mystery entity which makes then the NGO who 'fights for human rights'. That became doubtful, and up until now, SUARAM is still yet to explain the background of their establishment.
Whatever it is, everything is out, SUARAM now became passive and they are no longer agressive in handling issues.
From there, DAP began to take over by raising this issue which is now dying. For that, newspaper TheROCKET on July 15, 2012 published a flow chart showing the relationship between the government, PM and a few companies which were claimed to have received bribes during the purchase of the submarines. They are saying that the flow chart is a concrete evidence and rakyat should believe everything it says.
It is always easy to draw a flow chart with 'explanations' to create issues, accusations or just about anything, For example, the flow chart and the headline for the article itself. Anyone can accuse by writing article and creating the chronology and flow chart and push rakyat to believe in it.
Writer or anyone who plans for the PM's political strategy could also create documents to show that DAP has its role in accusing the government and the PM for this Scorpene issue and that they receive finds from Singapore and CIA.
But not everyone are liars like DAP and SUARAM. The Malaysian government is a responsible government and it is often prepared to face the enemy (opposition) professionally.
The government do not need to accuse anyone to raise rakyat's support/ As of for now, SUARAM, opposition's tool, have failed. DAP, PKR and PAS themselves are facing various scandals with evidence and witnesses. There were even cases where the main witness for DAP's corruption case was found dead where it made rakyat realize that DAP is not just corrupt, they are gangsters as well. And all of this is true, not made up by the government like how the opposition simply create the issue of Scorpene corruption.
We are well aware that the strategy to accuse without evidence is a culture for the opposition and it is eating them. The peak of it was when their 'famous fiction writer', Raja Petra Kamaruddin had to surrender after creating the spark towards the government in the Scorpene issue.
And now, it seems that SUARAM is giving up as well. The only one that is left would be DAP who really want to raise up the issue again. Hence, this raises question, is the flow chart just another one of their fantasy?

Water Crisis: Khalid Ibrahim Is Taking Too Much Risk

Water is the source of life. Without water, the effects would simply be catastrophic.
But in Selangor, the state government is looking at this issue as something small and they are much more comfortable to play politics rather than looking for the long term solution for the betterment of 7 million consumers including in Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya.
The report from Association of Water and Energy Research Malaysia (AWER) stated that Selangor would suffer water crisis by 20014, that matter should not be ignored.
The report was even backed by National Water Services Commission (SPAN) whych confirmed that clean water supply is critical with only 6 percent.
Looking at the Selangor Government's attitude where they seemed to be ignoring the project of Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant, clearly shows its failure in managing the future of the state.
When the reason why the new plant (Langat 2) is developed, along with water tunnel through Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Transfer Project (PPAMPS) to ensure that the supply of clean water would be constant to avoid the 1998 water crisis from repeating itself.
But when Selangor Government harassed the development of the project, up until now, a few areas in Klang valley including Selangor had to suffer water rationing considering that the water reserve in water treatment plants are decreasing.
Selangor Chief Minister, Khalid Ibrahim shared his though by saying that clean water supply could last until 2019. The statement is simply illogical and unjustified. The only reason why such statement was made is because he do not want the public to worry about anything. So, he simply sweep everything under the rug.
The fact is, from 33 water treatment plants around Selangor which provides water for Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, only a few of them are still working under the maximum capacity.
One of them include the water treatment plant in Sungai Rasa which operates at the capacity of 138.71 MLD when the maximum capacity is 250 MLD (Million Liter Daily)
However, due to the fact that a few of these plants which are barely working do not have any pipe that connects to other places, the rest of the plants had to operate within maximum capacity, for instance, Sungai Langat plant which operates with 447.42 MLD compared to maximum of 386 MLD.
Sungai Semenyih in the other hand supplies 665.92 MLD worth of clean water when the capability is only 546 MLD.
Plants which operates over the maximum capacity would soon suffer issues which could happen simultaneously, the domino effect would not only cause trouble to rakyat, it would also give a heavy impact to factory operations which generates the country's economy.
Overall, Klang Valley consumers use around 4,219 MLD while the amount of clean water supply that could be provided by all 33 water treatment plants is only 4,326 MLD.
Each day, demand for water would increase and if no new plants are developed, this might cause losses for consumers and the chain reaction would cause a heavier crisis.
Isn't it clear here that Selangor Government's ignorance for the Langat 2 project development would not just increase the development cost, but it would also give negative impact to rakyat?
Is this what we want?

No Mobile Phones To School Please! - PTA

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) is against the Education ministry's proposal to allow students to bring mobile phones to school, contending that it would have more negative than positive implications.
Its national chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Ali Hassan said students should not be allowed to bring any electronic gadgets to school, including mobile phones or iPad because this would not only distract them from their studies but also create an unhealthy 'show-off' culture among them.
He further pointed to the possibility of such gadgets being illicitly used to make recordings, besides adversely affecting the students' health in the long run.
"Mobile phones should not be allowed during school hours. If it is after school hours, that is up to the parents or guardians," he told Bernama here, when asked to comment on the ministry's decision to allow students to carry mobile phones or iPads to schools, beginning next year.
Deputy Education minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong had said the ministry would set guidelines.

tunku : i am against this proposal to allow students to bring mobile phone to school. not all the students can afford mobile phone or i pad and when one does not have, he/she will persuade or force the parents to buy one. it will be a burden especially for the poor parents.then it will be a show off culture where one will compare with others how advance their mobile phone is.the education ministry should rethink about their proposal.it bring more harm than good.

Free Malaysia Today Apologises For Calling Lynas Plant Unsafe

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- Lynas Corporation Limited, which has been receiving adverse publicity for over a year arising from its rare earth processing plant in Pahang, feels vindicated following an apology from Free Malaysia Today, an on-line news portal.
Its Chairman Nick Curtis said Lynas had always maintained that its plant at the Gebeng Industrial Estate, near Kuantan, was safe to the community within which it operates, and had based this view on scientific facts.
"The plant was thoroughly tested during the extensive and efficient reviews by the relevant regulators," he said in a comment emailed to Bernama when asked on the portal's apology.
In its website, www.freemalaysiatoday.com, Mtoday News Sdn Bhd apologised over articles it had published previously, claiming that the Lynas plant may be unsafe to the people.
"We apologise for these publications as such claims do not have a scientific basis. The regulatory review of the Lynas plant has been thorough and diligent," it added.

tunku : at last they realize their lies doesn't work.

Lynas: 20,000 Vs 28 Million Rakyat

On July 14, an NGO that goes by the name of Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas (SMSL) had raised a vote in 19 cities around Malaysia to get support in their effort to stop the operation of Lynas plant in Kuantan.
All 28 locations in Malaysia were scheduled to join the program but they only run the vote in 19 areas while other places were used to hold activities such as raising signatures, pickets and flash mobs.
The voting which began at 5pm and closed by 9pm raised 20,194 support of which those who objected on Lynas while only 6 supported the operation.
Based on the calculation, SMSL in their official website in a way announced that majority Malaysians do not want Lynas to operate!
The question is, how can SMSL justify 20,194 as the majority when the number of Malaysians overall are 28 million. As for the distribution, from all 19 cities which they raise the votes, with only around 20,000 votes, it means that not more than 1,000 people object Lynas in each of the 19 cities.
Thus, how can they justify that 1,000 is the majority voice of each cities? How many people are there in each of the cities?
The fact is, 20,000 from 29 million is such a humiliating number for SMSL. What's worse is that the votes also show majority of the votes come from Chinese community, that do not reflect voice of Malaysian as a whole.
Moreover, how can they guarantee that their votes are fair>How can we be certain that none of SMSL members cast their votes?
Do they use indelible ink? Biometric system? What procedure? Who observes SMSL votes> Why do they do it in small areas and the organizers put on BERSIH shirt?
And can we trust SMSL when they mixed their survey with the issue of Teoh Beng Hock's death, where his pictures were decorated over banners and voting boxes during the whole program. When the fact is, his death did not die because of Lynas's radioactive waste but he could be the key to reveal DAP's corruption scandal in Selangor.
So, how can we trust an organization who politicize the death of their own people just to cover the corruption scandal which involves the political party which they support?
All of these showed that SMSL practices double standard, unfair, no integrity, morally wrong, hence, they do not have the rights to question anything especially about Lynas.
The conclusion, it is now proven that only 20,000 objected on Lynas compared to the whole 28 million Malaysians. With that, it is official that SMSL had lost the whole game. And if it is true that SMSL really fight for Malaysia, they should accept this democratic decision. Like people said, if you lose, just accept it, do not go around making noises and harassing people.

GVH Shares: Kedah CM Humiliates PAS

So it is true that Pakatan Rakyat can never work. Not just that the allies cannot work together, but the whole coalition itself is a failure. PKR has been known for its internal issues between Azmin supporters and Khalid Ibrahim's. And for PAS, it is between Anwarinas and pro-Ulama.
But, recently, the problems get more obvious when a group or an individual within PAS who does not support anyone, not involved in any plans, aspiration nor parti strategies, Ustaz Azizan Razak, Kedah's Chief Minister.
Previously, Ustaz Azizan Razak had created problems to PAS and PR in a few religious issues which somehow offended DAP, and administrative issue that a few EXCO became rude and rejected his leadership publicly. From there, he was then put under 'observation' by Kedah Pemandu Committee to ensure that he would not bring Kedah towards a direction which PR do not want.
As of among rakyat, Ustaz Azizan is seen as a CM who do not know anything. There is not a single project implemented along his leadership. Even issues such as timber turns chronic, KUIN crisis and even Kulim Hi-Tech Park was ignored and he described those issues as 'UMNO's illogical attacks' on him.
Other issues such as water and waste management was said to have been results from previous government. In short, it seems to be very easy to become a CM in Kedah where everything can be ignored by saying "no problem" and "everything is settled".
Why all these happen is because Ustaz Azizan never really cared about media reports even if it is from pro-government nor opposition. He does not know much about IT and he refuse to listen to anyone. He 'settles' issues by listening from people around him only. If the reports were lies, then he would trust the lies.
Thus, it is not impossible that Ustaz Azizan do not know anything about PAS's stand which rejects the Felda listing all these while. Perhaps he also so not know about the 'official request' which asks PAS members to join the Orange Rally.
That is why when Executive Officer of Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK), Datuk Abdul Rahman Ibrahim proposed to invest RM2,275,000 or 500,000 units to Felda shares, Ustaz Azizan approved of it straight away, thinking that it would be beneficial.
What else needed to be explained by PKNK. They gained RM47,500 in profit when they sold 50,000 unit at the price of RM5.50 per unit compared to when they bought it for RM4.55 per unit.
Due to Ustaz Azizan's ignorance, PKNK had gained profit, but PAS had suffered loss on form of political issues. Ustaz Azizan somehow accidentally humiliated PAS and proven to PAS members that PAS's decision was wrong. Thus, proving that the government's decision to put Felda on the list was a smart move.
A few PAS leaders had began to express their rage over Ustaz Azizan. But we believe that as long as the media do not ask him about the matter, Ustaz Azizan would not know anything about it. And when he realize that he made a mistake, he would act all cool.
Now, what is certain is that PKNK had raised profit from the listing and whatever reason that Ustaz Azizan comes out with, it would not change the fact that FGVH listing had brought benefit towards many sides, including the stated that is being administered by PAS.
Thus, objections made by PAS towards FGVH is not logical and it only reflect their jealousy.

tunku : pas please walk the talk, you object FGV's listing but your own state government agency buying the shares of FGV. this clearly shows you walk the crap.

NAJIB AND MUHYIDDIN MUST SYNCHRONISE THEIR ACTS

Barisan Nasional needs to synchronise its act given the political scenario at present is very volatile and precarious.
The oppositions are in an all out ‘war’ to tear apart the ruling coalition and bury the BN in history and the BN, on the other hand, particularly chief Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is fighting ‘tooth and nail’ to win back lost ground and influence.
The political war is no small matter as this 13th general election is a matter of ‘life and death’ for both sides of the political divide.
However, recent acts or speeches or comments by Najib and his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin have given rise to various interpretations, not only among the opposition members and the general public, worse is within Umno itself.
Najib had said many times the general election would be called anytime when the ruling coalition was ready, which means anytime from now until March next year.
However, last week Deputy Umno president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the election could be held anytime even during the fasting month as he planned to meet ‘troubled’ Umno divisions during the fasting month to solve all matters.
When he mentioned ‘troubled Umno divisions’, the beans are spilled as all this while, the oppositions and public at large have only heard among disgruntled party members over the selection of candidates.
It is normal during every election that Umno faces such problem but this time around, the problem is more acute as many party members, particularly the incumbent state and parliament representatives felt they are the winning candidates.
Changes would create resentment and the chain reaction will be boycott during campaigns and so on as mentioned by Najib himself.
The contradictory statements by the two top leaders have opened up several interpretations which reflects weaknesses in Umno, the backbone of BN that is being seen as the only party that is strong enough to take on the ‘charging enemy’.
First, many opposition leaders are now relief as they know now Umno is having problems and as such, they do not expect the general election to be held ealier or before the party general assembly.
Muhyiddin’s statement to them was like a God’s sent message – don’t worry – just continue spilling the beans out of the sack as the general election will not be held any much earlier.
In short, the oppositions can continue spin and raise issues while at the same time, dig up more dirts among the BN leaders, particularly the Cabinet members.
Secondly among Umno members, who have already read the ‘so-called underlying message’ as though there is a friction, are now weighing the chances of another challenge in the coming party election.
Given such scenario, it is best that Najib and Muhyiddin synchronize their acts so that their statements and comments would be of same contents no matter how the people try to interpret them as this will reflect unity and one force.

tunku : we need one captain for a ship.there can't be two captains for a ship. we hope muhyiddin will not repeat such mistake again. whatever you said to pm, that is between you and him, do not bring it to the public without his consent as he is your boss.

Pakatan has forsaken the people’s welfare by politicizing water issues

17 July 2012

Press Statement by MCA Central Committee Member and Deputy Chairman of MCA Publicity Bureau Sdr Loh Seng Kok

Pakatan has forsaken the people's welfare by politicizing water issues

I urge the Pakatan Selangor government to put the people's interest first and foremost and to find an immediate solution to the increasingly serious water supply shortage in their state.

The Pakatan state government of Selangor has obviously placed their own interest over the public by politicizing the fresh water supply and refusing to continue negotiations with the federal government on overcoming the water shortage problem.

Yesterday, Selangor's water supply company, SYABAS, had requested permission from the National Water Services Commission to conduct water rationing in Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Langat and Klang. Although this will definitely affect many businesses and the public's daily lives, nevertheless the state government continues to be unconcerned, ignoring the plight of the people who are troubled by the water shortage problem.

SYABAS chief executive officer Dato' Ruslan Hassan was quoted yesterday as saying that the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur region was facing a water crisis with reserve being down to an average of 2%, which is way below the safety margin of 20%.

Water supply shortage already felt

While the Selangor state government continues to insist that Selangor's dams are at maximum capacity and question the building of the Langat 2 water reservoir, they should then answer why do certain places in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Langat and Sepang face water shortage problems?

The state government has also yet to clarify why they think Selangor will not face water shortages, therefore how can they expect us to trust their data given to us?

2012 water crisis maybe worse than 1998

Recently, SYABAS had warned that 134 areas will face water cuts this week, of which 86 are located in Shah Alam, Klang and Hulu Langat. Moreover, the Water Association of Selangor and Putrajaya (Swan) had also warned that the current water problem in Klang Valley would be worse that the water crisis of 1998.

The water management should place the public's interest first, but the Selangor state government continues to ignore the problems faced by the people and try to evade the problem by blaming others. Thus, how can the rakyat be expected to continue their daily lives under the governance of Pakatan?

tunku : i just can't understand why pakatan government in selangor is so stubborn. don't politicize the water issue.what is important is the rakyat. rakyat will suffer by your stubbornness. put rakyat first then your ego.

PAS Cheats To Take Over Settlers' Shares

Not enough with forcing its supporters to join the Orange Rally, PAS also did it by lying to settlers.
They even sell off orange and green short, as if to request so that FGV share could be suspended, but even PAS themselves are chasing after FGV shares.
This is proven when Kedah government, ruled by PAS, confirmed that 500,000 FGVH shares which is provided by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) which was offered to Bumiputera. This matter was confirmed by Chief Executive of Kedah State Development Corporation (PKNK), Datu Abdul Rahman Ibrahim.
PKNK earlier applied for 1 million share unit but MITI only approved half of it. PKNK subscribed to the share with RM4.55 per unit and invested as much as RM 2,275,000. PKNK even gained gross profit as much as RM47,500 when they sold 50,000 unit at the price of RM5.50 per unit.
We do accept the excuse given by PKNK their share do not have anything to do with politics because PKNK obviously focuses on the profit. In other words, the listing brings benefit to many sides.
But, we are confused with PKNK's stand because PKNK is an organization under the administration of PAS government and they should move under the objective of PAS.
By taking different aspiration, we do wonder whether PAS Kedah do not agree with PAS Centre once again? All these while, the leadership of Ustaz Azizan, Kedah's Chief Minister was often criticized for being 'different' with PAS Centre that they had to establish Pemandu Committee to 'guide' Ustaz Azizan.
This time around, when PAS worked so hard to push members to join the Orange rally, Ustaz Azizan let PKNK take a different action by buying shares which was objected by Orang Rally.
Does this mean that PAS Centre and PAS Kedah could not think alike and that Orange Rally is just another cheap political gimmick? Perhaps some PAS leaders are lying to supporters just so that they could buy those shares?
We do believe that PAS is aware that the listing is a great move and PAS knew that Orange Rally would not bring any difference where the listing cannot be suspended. That is why the purchase of FGVH shares is a blessing in disguise for PAS.
It seems that Orange rally supporters were cheated by PAS. We were lucky that the rally did not turn to a riot like Bersih 3.0 where people are prone to injuries and even death.
However, PAS only managed to lie to a few settlers and supporters where the rally was only attended by less than 5,000 supporters, compared to their target, 20,000 supporters.
Perhaps most PAS supporters have realized that their leaders do cheat on them and they are tired on the fact that none of the rallies bring any benefit to them.
No one can tell when PAS would stop lying to its supporters. Election is getting near but PAS still could not stop using their cheap political strategies which by the end, would eat themselves.

tunku : i really hope some of the settlers wont be fooled by pas. they should know that even the pas leaders are buying FGV shares and their state government too bought shares.

The Woman Linked With Azmin Ali Has Fled Overseas?

Last April, the whole country was shocked with a few pictures published by a few blogs showing a man who looks almost as PKR's Vice President, Azmin Ali.
Somehow, a couple of days after the photos were published, Azmin came up denying that he was the man in the picture.
Thank god he did not mentioned that he had smaller butt or 'sharper sword' compared to the man in the video.
Of not, obviously rakyat cannot help but to laugh while comparing the 'sword size' between Azmin Ali and Anwar Ibrahim.
Many are asking on why can't Azmin lodge any police report so that an investigation could be made over the photos.
It is not hard. All he need to do is spend a little of his time to any nearby police stations and lodge the report.
If he is confident that he was not involved in the incident, why be scared with the risk that he might lodge false police report?
At the same time, sources told that the woman who was involved with the incident which was linked with Azmin has now fled Malaysia, is that true?
The lady was sent out of country by an individual probably to avoid from being investigated and probably to protect the man in question.
As for now, there are no justification for the claim, hopefully it is just rumor.
Whatever it is, we hope that Azmin Ali could gather his strength to lodge a police report so that we can find out the truth behind the mystery man.

tunku : he dare not make a police report because he knew that it's him in the picture. with this pictures out, azmin is at par or just about there compare to his boss(anwar).

Kedah Government Urged To Act On Entertainment Outlet Operations

ALOR SETAR, July 16 (Bernama) -- The Kedah government has been urged to monitor the mushrooming of entertainment outlets in the state and act against those operating without a licence and staying open until the early hours of the day.
State Umno liaison chief Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said many bloggers and social media Facebook users had raised the issue and expressed concern, indicating that society was against the proliferation of such entertainment outlets.
"Some people have likened Alor Setar to Danok (Thai border town) for having too many entertainment joints that operate until early morning and we don't know whether these joints are licensed or not," he said after chairing a state Umno Liaison Committee meeting, here, today.
Ahmad Bashah said the situation was contrary to what Pakatan Rakyat had promised in their manifesto for the last general election.
"It appears that they promised not to do this and that just to garner votes, but after they won Kedah they've washed their hands off many issues of concern to the public."

tunku : pas can do anything to get votes, they can sell their values, principles , struggles and event their religion to get votes. alor setar was a town of peace and harmony has been turned around by pas with so much "development" of new pubs and discos.shame on pas and their so called ulamas and ustaz.

MCA AND GERAKAN HAVE STILL A LONG WAY TO GO

MCA and Gerakan, the two Barisan Nasional (BN) parties representing the Chinese community in the ruling coalition are fighting hard to regain lost ground, against all odds as the opposition DAP go on a fishing spree.
MCA which is Chinese-based and Gerakan which is multi-racial but Chinese-based seem to be losing the psychological war in winning the hearts and minds of the community as the opposition DAP has managed to do that based on racial sentiments, the basis it has failed to do the past 50 years.
With growing resentment against the ruling BN from the Chinese community, DAP gains much leverage while the MCA tries hard to stand its ground and Gerakan still lost in oblivion as the party has no specific direction.
Penang is still a far-fetch goal for BN as Gerakan and MCA have much work to do to win back the trust of the community, which had moved to DAP following the 2008 political tsunami wave.
Until today, both the parties do not know ‘what hit them’ – as to why the community rejected them when economic development benefitted the community while the Malays were shouting of being sidelined by the ruling Gerakan during those time.
Malays have never had it good in Penang, particularly on the island as their only dominant place ‘visible to the world’ is Balik Pulau, just beside the rapid economic development spot of Bayan Lepas.
Yet, the Chinese community still complaint of being ignored and Gerakan and MCA was voted out and only Umno managed to hold on their respective state seats.
With the 13th general election around the corner, the race is on and MCA and Gerakan are pushing hard despite having nothing to offer the Chinese community as it seems at present.
Highlighting the purported secret affair of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng does not benefit much as the episode has not erode much of Lim’s influence and support from within the community.
The debates which he had with MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek had also not moved any influence to his side nor erodes his influence - its status quo – as some Chinese voters said.
While Gerakan has yet to find any real issues that can help erode DAP’s support in Penang, MCA has gone far forward trying to ‘untie the knots’ that bind the community to DAP.
However, MCA’s effort is not confined to Penang alone but the whole country in general as the party sees the community is going further from the traditional BN platform.
Thus far, the party has yet to gain much ground and is still fighting hard.
Given such a situation, it is back to BN chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak to shoulder the burden of regaining lost ground, the job he has been doing since he took over the premiership in 2009.
Knowing that MCA and Gerakan have lost support from the community, Najib goes all out to help them win back confidence and trust by meeting their demands and needs.
Najib has been going round meeting people, introducing transformation programmes and fulfilling pledges and promises made during the 2008 general election to regain lost influence and trust.
While support and reception of Najib’s actions have been tremendous, the question that lingers even among Umno leaders and members is: “Are those that we see and have seen are real and can it be translated into votes?”
And Najib’s ‘engagement’ with young voters through the modern media tool such as facebook and twitter received positive responses that encourages and inspires the youngsters.
Again the same question being asked by supporters of both sides of the political divide when they talk about support and influence.
And Najib’s new approaches to gain trust and confidence of the Chinese community is getting some backlash from the Malays although this is seen as minimal.

tunku : mca and gerakan has taken for granted all these while that the chinese will vote them again. they think that 2008 result it's not because of them. looking at the situation now, the malays (majority) are back with umno but chinese still shying away from mca and gerakan. both mca and gerakan are depending too much on pm to gain support for them. they should put more efforts on the ground. the people should see them on the ground and working for rakyat not only for their community.if they can do that, i am confident that they will get back the supports not only from their community but malaysian at large.another winning formula for mca and gerakan would be working closely hand in hand for the coming election.

Indian community being marginalized in Pakatan.

Axed Johor DAP leaders torch rocket in protest

JOHOR BARU: Two axed Johor DAP leaders, sacked for tarnishing the party's image, set fire to a handmade five-foot red rocket to express their dissatisfaction with the party.
The duo, former Taman Saga branch chairman V. Thulasi Das and Taman Nesa DAP publicity secretary K. Murugan, along with seven other DAP members, held a protest in front of the Johor Baru Central Municipal Council building in Skudai here at around 3.30pm Sunday.
Heavy rain delayed their plan to burn the rocket but they resumed when the rain stopped an hour later.
Kurugan claimed that Johor DAP leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau had turned a blind eye on the Indian community.
"He is not fit to represent the people because he only makes empty promises and lies," he said.

In Penang yesterday a group of Indian community gathered up at Taman Sejahtera Machang Bubuk Bukit Mertajam to voice their dissatisfaction at Pakatan State Government.

tunku : Indian community indeed are being marginalized by the pakatan everywhere. they promised the moon and stars and gave them nothing.Indian community should not look at pakatan anymore as they are big liars.
