Malaysia is on the right track to becoming a developed nation by
2020, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak reiterated Monday.
In his monthly address to staff of the Prime Minister's Department,
Najib said the country has shown an impressive growth in its trade,
investment and economy due to the Government's inclusive and solid
policies.
He said savings gained from the Government's subsidy rationalisation
measures would be used to finance more development under the 11th
Malaysia Plan.
"There are many projects to look into, such as more schools to be
built and increasing the capacity of water plants, and each of these
requires large costs.
"We are sensitive to the people's concerns over the rising cost of
living, and we take measures to monitor these prices and provide
targeted subsidies.
"These are for the growth of our economy and I hope we will all give
our support (to the Government's policies)," Najib said at the assembly
here.
