State Barisan Nasional Chief Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman
has appealed to young voters not to be emotional and vote based on
racial sentiments which have been played up by the Opposition in the
state.
He urged them to think carefully and not to place the future of the state and country in the hands of the Opposition.
Ghani, who is contesting in Gelang Patah parliamentary, hoped that the
fence sitters would also choose Barisan on Sunday to continue their
plans to develop the state.
"The Opposition is not united as
they have different ideologies. "I hope
young voters will not be carried away with all the tactics used by the
opposition to fish for votes in GE13," he said after his walkabout and
meeting with residents of Taman Impian Emas flats on Saturday.
He
urged voters to "defend Johor" from the Opposition to ensure all its
development projects would not be affected especially in Iskandar
Malaysia.
He also brushed off claims that the Opposition would
be able to win at least 12 parliament seats in Johor from the present
one that they have.
The opposition won the Bakri parliamentary in 2008.
He added that even the "grey areas" in Johor have warmed up to Barisan
and he was confident of a good victory for Barisan in Sunday's polls.
