PKR's Accusation Of Dynasty, Cronyism In Umno Backfires - Shafie
SEMPORNA, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The oft-repeated accusations by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) that Umno was building a dynasty and practised cronyism in its leadership has now backfired on PKR, said Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
"They (PKR) can say Umno is a dynasty and has groups but they are even worse than what they accused us of," he told reporters at the Aidilfitri open house here.
He was commenting on the offer by Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah, who is also PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's daughter, to run for the vice-president's post in the party's forthcoming election.
Shafie said he did not rule out the possibility of money politics in the election process.
He said, all this while, PKR had accused Umno of having cronies but the latest development showed that PKR was the one which practised cronyism.
On the move by certain quarters to revive Usno, the United Sabah National Organisation, as its former leaders were sidelined by Umno, Shafie reminded them that Umno's entry to Sabah was to unite the bumiputera in the state.
tunku : if it is the pakatan's party then its ok, nothing is wrong, everything morally right but if it umno or bn component parties than they will bark day and night, shouting up and down of nepotism ,cronyism ,family dynasty etc. at least in umno, its members are brave enough to act against family dynasty but in pakatan it's members are cowards. dap is controlled by kit siang and karpal, meanwhile pkr by anwar.
