KOTA BARU: Galas assemblyman Che Hashim Sulaiman died at 4.30pm Monday, at the Al-Islam Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, after a prolonged battle with colon cancer.Che Hashim, 48, a PAS assemblyman, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009 and went to China last year to undergo chemotherapy treatment.
The one-term assemblyman was also involved in a road accident days after the last general election and was warded at the Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital II here for cuts and bruises after his vehicle skidded into a ravine along the winding road in Gua Musang.
