Najib truly aware of the need of revolution in Umno: Tun Mahathir

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today he was convinced Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was truly aware of the need for the party to institute change to regain the support of the people.
The former Umno president said Najib's policy address at the opening of the Umno general assembly today was high-spirited and he had outlined several measures for Umno to endear itself to the people.
"I feel that the emphasis on Umno endearing itself to the people is important because we find that many Umno leaders isolate themselves from the people and use force to gain their support, which is evidently futile," he told reporters after attending the opening of the 2009 Umno general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), here.
Dr Mahathir and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, were the focus of attention of the delegates and the media at the assembly and Najib's acknowledgement of their presence drew the applause of the delegates.
Another former prime minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, was absent. Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, contacted by Bernama, said Abdullah had called him and Najib to say he was indisposed.
Among the guests present were MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) president Tan Sri Dr George Chan, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO) president Tan Sri Bernard Dompok and People's Progressive Party (PPP) president Datuk M. Kayveas.
Dr Mahathir, while acknowledging that two years was a short time for Umno to institute change before the next general election, said he was confident that the change could be carried out.
"The time frame is short but I think it (change) can be implemented if they (Umno members) go to the ground and find out why the people are unhappy," he said.
Asked whether he was convinced that the proposed Umno constitutional amendments could stem money politics in the party, Dr Mahathir said he hoped that Umno members would not resort to it any more.
"I hope they will stop using money to get places (in the party)," he said.
Dr Mahathir also said that there was no end to political struggle.
"There is no end to political struggle. If it cannot be resolved during my time (as the prime minister), it cannot be resolved at any other time. The struggle is an ongoing one ... new challenges, new needs, new environment ... all these have to be taken into account," he said.
Dr Mahathir said he hoped that Umno would be able to fulfill its promises because it was not only the members but also the people who were watching the changes to be made. - Bernama

tunku : well najib is truly aware of the need of revolution in Umno and if all Umno members aware of it too then there is no stopping for Umno to win back the confidence of the people.it is a challenge like what Tun Mahathir said, on going one,new challenges, new needs, new environment etc. hence Umno must be on alert of all these and must be able to change from time to time. the most important think is to have a good leader who can lead through good and bad time.we have seen how a bad leader like pak lah can put Umno in deep trouble when he was the commander.Umno members must be matured and smart enough to elect their leaders.choose the wrong one, you had it.there are few in Umno now and one of them is kj.

Ong stays, Liow elected number two

Ong said he had directed party secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng to call for another extraordinary general meeting (EGM), this time to decide if there should be a fresh election of the CC.
"I still have a long list of unfinished business involving party and public interests, like the direct election of the MCA presidency and the Port Klang Free Zone issue. It is my wish to see such issues addressed without any abrupt disruption," he said in a posting on his blog that appeared within minutes after the close of the five-hour CC meeting at Wisma MCA.
Ong extended his congratulations to Liow, who was previously vice-president, for his election to the deputy presidency which Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek lost after he was sacked. The sacking was later replaced with a four-year suspension.
Prior to this, there were speculations that the CC could call for fresh party elections to pick a new leadership or elect Liow as president and elevate another vice-president, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, the Housing and Local Government Minister, to the deputy president's post.
The expulsion of Dr Chua on Aug 26 triggered an open split in the party which led to an EGM on Oct 10 that threw the MCA into a limbo after a motion of no confidence was passed against Ong.
Dr Chua was re-admitted into the party but his bid to be reinstated as the party number two was rejected.
Ong, who is Transport Minister, left today's CC meeting without holding a news conference but told the media to read his blog in which he maintained that the disciplinary action against Dr was a collective decision of the presidential Council and the CC and not his alone.
"That being the case, I had proposed to have fresh polls to seek a fresh mandate from the party, especially when the outcome of the EGM was inconclusive and indicated that the grassroots were divided. The best way out of this situation is to seek the re-affirmation of the MCA leadership," he said.
At the Oct 10 EGM attended by 2,307 delegates, Ong lost the vote of confidence by 14 votes.
"Last but not least, I need to tender my apologies to the people if they felt that I have not lived up to their expectations. I want to assure them that so long as I continue as a Member of Parliament and remain a discerning Malaysian, I will continue to pursue the PKFZ case in whatever capacity available to me.
"To my aspiring MCA colleagues, I must apologise if I stand in the way of your political ascendency. That has never been my intention," he said.
CC member Chai Kim Sen, the only one spoke to reporters, said the CC unanimously elected Liow after some debate.
Asked about Ong's status, he said: "We'll leave it to him to announce."
Since last week's EGM, Ong had faced mounting calls to resign but he gave no indication whether he would relinquish the post after just a year except to say that would act in the best interest of the party.
While the CC meeting began at 1pm, 13 busloads of about 600 supporters from Johor, Kedah, Selangor, Penang, Melaka and Perak arrrived at the party headquarters at 10am.
Despite the rain, they stayed on with banners in English and Mandarin which read, among others, "Please Stay!!! As our President", "MCA and Chinese community want your leadership" and "Stay! Support and appeal in the interest of the Chinese community".
Ong arrived 20 minutes before the meeting started and waved to the groups who chanted "Mr President, please stay" in Mandarin. - Bernama

tunku : 13 busloads or 600 people does not represent to actual supports from the Mca members.we have seen last time the "i love you pak lah" stickers and banners everywhere but at last he was made to resign (kicked out). if ong really care for Mca he should not have asked the CC to call for an EGM on whether there should be a fresh election or not.ong should be brave enough to ask CC to hold fresh election and if he is really wanted/supported by Mca, he will be the president again, this time with pride and dignity.now for him to hold to the position is a shameful act.

Khairy and Anwar should be mindful of their sins

KUALA LUMPUR: In his maiden speech as Umno youth chief at the movement’s annual general assembly on Wednesday, Khairy Jamaluddin tears into the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim saying that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s leader should be mindful of his past deeds.
He said Anwar’s sins towards Umno and the Malays would never be forgotten simply because he was now in the opposition.
Khairy said Anwar had manipulated Malaysians with his rhetoric, claiming that he was clean, pure and a beacon of integrity while branding Umno as corrupt, voracious and racist.
He said Anwar’s past shadow would follow him no matter where he maneuvered in the political arena.
“Anwar tries to position himself as the voice of the marginalised, a champion of Islam, the Malays and human rights.
“But is this truly Anwar Ibrahim? Or is his political struggle motivated solely by personal ambitions?
“Anwar may have suceeded in deceiving some members of the younger generation, who never really knew his true nature - a political chameleon who changes colour according to season.
“But Umno and Umno Youth most certainly remember the real Anwar, and we will ensure that this forked-tongue teller of tales will never make it in his quest to Putrajaya,” Khairy said.

tunku: in fact it is for both of them kj and the moron should be mindful of the past and present misdeeds.while the moron's sin towards Umno and the country would not be forgotten let us not forget what kj and his father in-law did to Umno and the country.i guess kj too like anwar is motivated solely by personal ambitions and not for the people.let us make sure that kj and the moron will never make their quest to Putrajaya.

Najib: Fulfil promises before it's too late

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has reminded component parties of the Barisan Nasional (BN) to fulfil their promises in carrying out transformations to strengthen the coalition.
Najib, who is also the BN chairman, said component parties that were facing a leadership crisis must tackle the problem before it was too late to face the coming general election.
"The opportunity is there, and there is still time, but don't delay efforts in resolving the internal problems until the eve of the general election. By that time, it's too late for us to take action," said Najib in an exclusive interview with Bernama at his office in conjunction with the Umno general assembly.
Najib wanted to see that all the BN component parties were stable and strong so that they could contribute to the success of the BN.
Any problem, particularly a serious leadership crisis, could have an impact on the public perception on the BN although it was confined to one component party, he said.
"That's why I have suggested that they should try to resolve the crisis in their respective parties as soon as possible," he said.
Najib said that as the BN chairman, he always welcomed any party to give their views or advice.
Asked what were the fundamental changes that should be carried out by the component parties, he said: "They must undertake transformation. That's what they have promised."
Although there were signs that the process of transformation was taking place, the Prime Minister said it was still at the ''work in progress'' stage and had not reached the stage of firmness.
The process has not reached the stage where we can consider it to be completed. So, what they have pledged, they must proceed with it. As I had once said at one function, what is the point of holding a position in the party if we don't get the support of the people," he said.
Asked whether the component parties concerned should be given a time frame to carry out the transformation, Najib replied: "Well, they should know".
The Prime Minister said although in principle the power-sharing formula in the BN would be continued, the BN must put forward winnable candidates during the general election.
Asked whether the quota on candidates contesting in the general election would be changed if there were component parties that had yet not carried out the necessary transformation, Najib said the matter had to be discussed beforehand
"That's my responsibility as the chairman of Barisan Nasional. I still respect the power-sharing process in the Barisan Nasional. At the same time, we must carry out a realistic evaluation of our own capability.
"Because what is important is that we don''t sacrifice any seat. We must field winnable candidates. So, if he or she wants to win, he/she must work from now," he said. - Bernama

tunku : there is still time for BN to win over the people.go to the ground listen to them and do your best to help those who needs help.fulfil all your promises.BN leaders must be down to earth always. time has changed so must BN.they have to move on to a new dimension with a new vision. what DS Najib said is very true,BN should field winnable candidates from now on, they can't just put a candidate if it is known that the candidate will lose. each components party in BN should start doing their homework(finding a suitable candidate) from now on and discuss this always in BN's committee meeting from time to time so that when the time comes, BN is well prepared to fight the battle .

Khairy proposes aid for new families to get a leg-up

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth has proposed that the Government gives a one-off RM200 cash gift for the firstborn of all families as an initial deposit to the National Education Savings Scheme Fund.
The movement also proposed that the Government gives a special discount for the purchase of national cars to first-time parents who have yet to own a car.
These are among the list of initiatives proposed by the movement to help alleviate problems faced by those who have only recently begun working and started their own families.
With numerous responsibilities to bear, including paying off study loans and looking after ageing parents, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the Government should provide certain incentives in order for these people to get a good head start.
In his first address at the Umno Youth annual general assembly on Wednesday, Khairy said the Government should also set up a fund to give housing loans with the lowest interest rates for the first few years upon marriage so that newlyweds could afford their own home.
The Government, he added, should also offer vouchers to parents with infants for purchases such as milk and diapers.
He said as an inclusive party, Umno Youth wanted to be the voice of the younger generation within and outside the party.
"This is what people-friendly should mean in Umno Youth," he said, adding that the list, which had been put forward by the movement in the run-up to the tabling of the 2010 Budget, was specifically geared to the needs of young people.
He said other suggestions include urging the Government to ensure increased job opportunities, especially in strategic sectors like service, information technology and biotechnology.

tunku : by promising lots of thing like what the opposition did during last election, kj is hoping that people will stop hating him and will love him from now on.he wants us to forget what he had done together with his father in-law to umno and bn.he wants us to forget all those issues like ecm libra etc. he wants us to forget his misconducts during the umno election in march.at least other leaders in Umno when found guilty was penalized but not him.he escaped all that.

Mukhriz: ‘PAS votes’ may have led to big BN win

KUALA LUMPUR: Dissatisfaction among PAS supporters with the party’s choice of candidate in Bagan Pinang could have swung votes in favour of Barisan Nasional, said Jerlun MP Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir.
This, he added, could have contributed to Barisan’s thumping 5,435-vote majority.
Furthermore, Barisan candidate Tan Sri Isa Samad was well-known and well-liked in the state, he said.
He also said that it was not unusual for Barisan candidates to get PAS votes during elections.
“In Jerlun, where I contested the parliamentary seat, PAS members and supporters’ votes contributed to our landslide majority.
“As we get support from across the political divide, we must serve and look into the welfare of all rakyat,” he said.
On PAS’ threat to dispute the by-election results in court, Mukhriz said it was not proper for PAS leaders to cry foul as Isa won fair and square.
On the proposed amendments to Umno’s constitution to be tabled during the party’s general assembly tomorrow, Mukhriz said it was pertinent for the party to maintain its focus on its original struggles.

tunku: no doubt lots of pas supporters(not the die hard one) have swung their votes in bagan pinang and may be in the next GE as they had lost confidence in pas leadership especially after pas had diverted from their principles and struggles.pas had disappointed many.Mukhriz should siege this opportunity now in Jerlun and tries to win as many hearts(pas members) as he can.we never know there would be another by election in Kota Seputeh which is under Jerlun.

Umno needs to change: Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno does not expect resistance from members on proposed amendments to the party constitution, its president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said on Tuesday.
“Judging from the mood of party members during my briefing session with them, things look good.
“They responded well to my speech. Let us see (what happens) in the next few days,” he told reporters after briefing Umno delegates who will be attending the party’s 60th general assembly that begins Wednesday.
Najib was responding to questions if there would be any resistance from within on the move to amend the party constitution and if he would be able to overcome it.
The party president said that during his session with Umno delegates Tuesday, he explained the philosophy and reasons behind Umno’s constitutional amendments, adding it was mainly to curb money politics or vote-buying.
“The amendments can prevent money politics as the number of those involved in choosing leaders are very big and any attempts (to practise money politics) can be easily detected.
“It is rather easy to deal with 2,500 delegates. You can do it in the dark but not when the numbers are big,” he said.
Under the proposed amendments, a total of 146,500 party members will be involved in choosing Umno leaders.
To a question if amending the constitution would result in frequent changes to the party leadership at all levels, including the president, Najib said it would depend on the members.
“If the leadership is good and effective and accepted by the people, surely they can maintain their posts.
“We must realise that our accountability as leaders is heavier now. With the changes to the constitution, if leaders do not perform, they will be open to challenge, including the party’s top leadership,” he said.
Najib said that during his 70min closed-door session with delegates, he explained the changes in the national political landscape where he had stressed the crucial need for Umno to change for the better.
“Whether it is change in strengthening unity, our culture and even our own attitude, changes need to be made,” he said.
The party president also stressed on the importance of close co-operation and unity among members as this could help Umno achieve bigger success as reflected in the results of the recently-concluded Bagan Pinang by-election,
“This is an examplary election where the machinery led by (deputy president Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin) was effective. We must be willing to work hard and implement various programmes for the people,” he said.

tunku : it is very simple, if there is resistance from members on proposed amendments to the party constitution, Umno will face very dark future ahead of them.the proposed amendments will rejuvenate the party and time will make the members for discipline and putting people's interest first and the 1Malaysia concept, People First, Performance Now.If each Umno member can adapt to this concept,Umno will come back strongly.

Dr Mahathir, Abdullah To Attend Umno General Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- Former Umno presidents Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi have confirmed their attendance to the Umno General Assembly's opening ceremony on Thursday.
Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told Bernama that the two statesmen had been invited as guests of honour.
He said Abdullah would also be a delegate to the assembly owing to his position as the Kepala Batas Umno division chief.
This will be Abdullah's first Umno general assembly as a guest of honour after relinquishing his posts as party president last March and as prime minister in April.
For Dr Mahathir, this will be his first attendance to the general assembly after rejoining the party in April 4 this year.
Dr Mahathir left Umno on May 19 last year, saying he had lost confidence in the leadership of the party he once led for 22 years.
However, in the Umno General Assembly in March this year, he attended the closing ceremony as a guest.
He rejoined the party shortly after and retained his Umno membership number 0000001 while his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali retained the number 0000002.
Dr Mahathir was once expelled from the party -- on Sept 26, 1969 -- during Tunku Abdul Rahman's tenure for criticising the leadership of the country's first prime minister but was accepted back on March 7, 1972 when Tun Abdul Razak Hussein became the prime minister.
When met at a Hari Raya get-together organised by Police Special Action Force, Dr Mahathir said he would attend the opening ceremony.
He also hoped that Umno would restore confidence among the people and return to its true struggle as spelled out in party constitution.
Asked on Barisan Nasional candidate Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad's victory in the Bagan Pinang by-election, Dr Mahathir said it should be seen in the larger context of preparing for the 13th general election.
"We should not be overzealous. Don't let this victory lull us into complacency," he said.

tunku : for the first time in Umno's history two former president will attend to the Umno General Assembly's opening ceremony.one former president which has put Umno on a high note and full of achievement and one former president which has put Umno on life support machine.we hope the current president will bring Umno's glorious day again and will not repeat the mistakes made by past leaders.learn from the past.

Staying vocal for Umno’s sake:Tun Dr Mahathir

TUN Dr Mahathir Mohamad must be among the minority of Malaysians who are not enslaved by their handphones.
He owns a sleek Blackberry Storm that, he admitted rather sheepishly, he only uses to receive and occasionally make calls.
“Mostly calls are to and from my family. Not many people know my number,” he said.
In any event, not many people would dare call him even if they had his number.
He also uses the computer mainly to update his blog (24 million visitors to date), surf a few websites and Google for information.
He is still very much a print-material person. Ironically, this is the man who facilitated a technological shift in this country during his tenure as Prime Minister.
Dr Mahathir was chewing on a Snickers bar at the start of the interview because it had been a long morning and his blood sugar level had dipped somewhat.
He is looking forward to attending the opening of the Umno general assembly on Thursday where Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will make his first presidential address. His presence will be a clear signal of support for the new Umno president.
This will be the second time he is attending the opening since he left office.
He had been to Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s first assembly as president but things went downhill between them after that and he has since stayed away from party’s assemblies.
Things are still not going well between them although his tone softened when he related how Abdullah had stayed back after Friday prayers recently to shake his hand.
This assembly is about amending the party’s constitution but Dr Mahathir pointed out that amendments are not a magic cure for ills in the party. The members’ mindset about politics and leadership must also change.
“It will not do the party any good if the people do not reject corrupt leaders. Members must not think of themselves only but of the party and the community.
“There is no point in having people who succeed in winning a party post through dubious means, but who cannot help the party win in elections. For example, they have chosen a Youth leader, but when there is a by-election, they say there is no need for him to come. This is very peculiar.”
Like all Umno members, he is pleased about the outcome of the Bagan Pinang by-election. He had been vocal about picking Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad for the seat.
“I didn’t want Isa simply because of his track record, nothing personal. But I really wanted Umno to win. A loss would have been disastrous. I thought the majority would be reduced but it was overwhelming.
“The people there really wanted him. Sometimes my views are not correct but I was only partly wrong.” he said in a rare admission that he is not always right.
Dr Mahathir had been vocal in the run-up to the party elections earlier this year, telling Umno members to choose clean and capable leaders who can help the party recover from the political tsunami of the last general election.
He observed that there has been a lot of improvement since the new Umno leadership took over.
“There is still a lot of work that needs to be done especially in winning over the general public, especially those in the middle class. They have yet to feel the impact of the economic policies. That is important if they are to be convinced that things are improving.”
Dr Mahathir said Najib did not have much time to accomplish his agenda as there are only two more years before the next general election.
“Most of the Barisan Nasional component parties, except those in Sabah and Sarawak, are still in trouble. The coalition has to improve very quickly which is not an easy thing to do.”
There are also a few nagging issues where he is concerned about. He is still disappointed over the policy reversal on the medium of instruction in the teaching of mathematic and science.
The Johor bridge project is still an issue. Is the bridge so important to him because it will boost the economy or is it because it is part of his vision?
“It’s not about my vision. There is this perception that the Government is afraid of Singapore, that it does not want to build it because Singapore is against it.”
Knowing Dr Mahathir, this issue is not likely to fade away soon.
“Speaking out is not something I enjoy doing. It’s something that I must do. If everything is fine, I don’t think there is a need for me to open my mouth.”
At this juncture of the interview, Dr Mahathir’s staff signalled that it was time for his lunch - a homely spread of curry chicken, stir-fried french beans, salted fish, papadam, green salad and rice.
When he was the Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir was specific about not being photographed during his meals. He does not mind opening his mouth to speak out but he dislikes being photographed with his mouth open.

tunku : Umno needs vocal leaders in order to survive.there must be check and balance within the party itself otherwise it will be carried away with only "good" news and info.wish there are more "Tun Dr Mahathir" in Umno but definitely no more anwar ibrahim like in Umno.there is one right now, the youth chief. anwar ibrahim wannabe.

Six Sentenced To Death Over Xinjiang Riot

URUMQI, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Six men who were convicted of murder and other crimes in the July 5 riot in Xinjiang were sentenced Monday to death after a first-instance trial, and another man was jailed for life, according to a report by China's Xinhua news agency.
Abdukerim Abduwayit, Gheni Yusup, Abdulla Mettohti, Adil Rozi, Nureli Wuxiu'er, and Alim Metyusup were sentenced to death at the Intermediate People's Court in Urumqi.
Tayirejan Abulimit was given life imprisonment, a lesser punishment as he admitted charges of murder and robbery and helped the police capture Alim Metyusup.
All seven men had been convicted of murder, and some of them were also convicted of arson or robbery.
The seven were the first to be sentenced over the riot, which left 197 people dead and more than 1,600 injured in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

tunku : that is what happened to a minority group in some countries.they are sentenced in an instance trial(like instance noodle) and the other group which involved in the riot too are free to roam around though they too had killed people. where is the justice here?

Majority Of Indian Votes In Bagan Pinang Went To BN, Says MIC

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- The MIC believes that the Indian voters have returned to the Barisan Nasional fold based on the results of the Bagan Pinang by-election in the four Indian-majority voting streams.
Its vice-president Datuk Dr S.Subramaniam said initial survey by the MIC revealed that the BN had won in all the four voting streams within the state constituency namely Ladang Atherton, Pekan Siliau, Ladang Brandwall and Sua Betong.
"We are very happy with the results in the four polling stations where the MIC was put in-charge," said Dr Subramaniam, who is also the Human Resources Minister, in a statement.
He said the results were an indication that the Indians were returning to the BN fold.
Dr Subramaniam also stressed on the need for unity within the Indian community to speak with one voice.
The Minister thanked all the MIC division and branch leaders who had worked very hard to ensure victory for the BN in the by-election.
In the by-election yesterday, BN candidate Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad garnered 8,013 votes to beat PAS state commissioner Zulkefly Mohamad Omar who polled 2,578 votes.

tunku: there you go, they start to claim that they are the one(Mic) who made the Indians vote for BN.the Indians have other parties too in BN.no doubt in bagan pinang, the Chinese and Indians (majority) have supported BN but let us not get carried away with this.Indian may be returning into BN's fold not because of Mic(as long as samy is there), but because of BN itself.now there is new party called makhal sakhti who supports BN.

Ong And Dr Chua Should Resign - Dr Mahathir

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad feels, both MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and his former deputy Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek must take the cue from the outcome of the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) Saturday, and resign.
Mahathir said MCA must choose a neutral candidate to regain the confidence of the grassroots and strengthen the party.
"From a moral aspect, both must relinquish their posts. MCA must pick a leader who is not tainted so that he can gain the support of everyone. Then MCA can be united under one leadership.
"It is clear that both the MCA leaders had lost. So, they must reorganize and look for a new leader. Members of MCA are not happy with their leadership and that is the reason why they rejected both of them," he said when met at a Hari Raya celebration hosted by the Cempaka Umno branch here on Sunday night.
Commenting on the newly formed Makkal Sakti Malaysia party that was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday, Mahathir said he welcomed the formation of the party.
"I feel the time has come for us to accept this Indian party into Barisan Nasional since MIC's influence has dropped," he said.
He also reiterated his call for MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu to resign.
"I ask Samy Vellu to resign as well. If he resigned, MIC will be given a new lease of life," he said.

tunku : for sure ong and chua must say goodbye to their post in Mca. after all the delegates had showed what they want.It is not advisable for them to contest again in the party's hopefully election soon.either one of them if wins will not stop the problems in Mca and will split the party.Mca will not be strong enough then to go for a battle in the next general election. both of them have to sacrifice if they put Mca above them.a third party can reunite the members again and prepare Mca for the battle ahead with confidence. as for Mic, hmmmmmm...samy vellu.......hmmmmmmmm.

1Malaysia Concept Wins Support Of Bagan Pinang Constituents, Says Isa

PORT DICKSON, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- The big win by the Barisan Nasional (BN) in Bagan Pinang shows that the BN has regained the support of all races, said the BN candidate Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.
The 1Malaysia concept, 'People First, Performance Now' introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, was the main factor for the success as it succeeded in drawing the support of all races for the BN, he said.
"This is a good sign that the people are supporting the BN government under the leadership of Najib and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Only the BN government can provide good governance for the country.
"I'm thankful to the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan as well as party leaders who had worked hard for the by-election," he told reporters, here on Sunday night.
Mohd Isa retained the Bagan Pinang state seat for the BN in the by-election after beating the PAS candidate, Zulkefly Mohamad Omar with a majority of 5,435 votes.
Mohd Isa garnered 8,013 votes while Zulkefly received only 2,578 votes.
Mohd Isa said: "We were confident of the victory based on the campaign carried out as well as the body language of the voters".
Among the main factors for the victory, he said, was the clarification why he was chosen as the candidate by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
On the postal votes which favoured the BN, Mohd Isa said as members of the security forces, it was appropriate that the police and military personnel supported the government.
In addition, he said the various allegations made by the opposition on the postal voting process had backfired on them.
Asked on the majority obtained by the BN in Bagan Pinang compared to the eight by-elections previously, he said it was a significant win and a beginning that the BN had regained the confidence of the people.
"I thank all the voters in Bagan Pinang for their confidence in the BN and for having responded positively to my appeal," he said.
On his future plans, Mohd Isa said he already knew the problems of the Bagan Pinang constituents and the problems could be attended to in stages.
Meanwhile, PAS candidate Zulkefly Mohamad Omar said he accepted the defeat as the choice of the people in Bagan Pinang.
"I will continue my role as the state PAS commissioner and endeavour to convince the people in the state on the struggles of PAS and the Pakatan Rakyat," he added.

tunku : it is a morale booster for bn with this win but they must not be comfortable with the win and get carried away.people like samy vellu tends to get carried away with wins like this.there is still lot of things that have to be done and changes in order to get the support from the people. bagan pinang landslide win is because of the candidate itself.the right candidate is also a very important thing in election.bn should start choosing their candidates for the general election and make them go to the ground from now on.bagan pinang is not a gauge for bn's victory in the future.they must work 24/7 to get back the supports they used to get.i am sure that najib as the captain is doing his best and hopefully his troops are doing their best too.we have seen enough of by elections, hope there will be no more after this till the next GE.

MCA delegates did the perfect job

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Embattled MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat lost in a vote of no-confidence against him while suspended Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek was reinstated as a party member but not as the deputy president at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of the party here on Saturday.
A total of 1,155 delegates voted for the no-confidence motion, which was the first resolution, while 1,141 voted against it. Eight ballot papers were spoilt.
A total of 1,204 of the delegates agreed that the presidential council's decision on Aug 26 in accepting the recommendation of the disciplinary board and the subsequent decision of the central committee to expel or suspend Dr Chua be annulled, as per the second resolution, meaning that he would be reinstated as a party member.
A total of 1,184 of the 2,304 delegates also decided against the third resolution - that suspended Dr Chua be reinstated as the deputy president.
The results were announced by Speaker Datuk Yip Phooi Hong at 4.10pm after two recounts of the votes for the first resolution.

tunku : it is the best decision by the Mca delegates.it shows that they are matured enough to decide the best for their party.both ong tee kiat and chua soi lek should let go their position in Mca for the sake of their party.if either one of them stay in power, the party will split.we hope now both ong's and chua's supporters will unite again and will make Mca a strong party like it used to be.

Coward Raja Petra Still Cannot Be Traced

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The Sessions Court on Friday was told that a warrant of arrest issued against blogger Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin could not be served as he still could not be traced despite various efforts by the police.
Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Hafiz Mohd Yusoff said the show cause notice to Raja Petra's bailor, Mable@Marina Lee, also could not be served.
He said this at the trial of Raja Petra, who is charged with defaming the prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and two others.
Today is the second time the case was called up for mention. The first was on May 26 when the arrest warrant was issued.
Raja Petra, 59, is charged with defaming Rosmah, Lt. Col Abdul Aziz Buyong and his wife Lt. Col Norhayati Hassan, in a statutory declaration made at the Jalan Duta Court complex here at 10.25am on June 18 last year.
Investigating officer ACP Aziz Zakaria, who was testifying under oath, said police had taken various steps to locate Raja Petra, including placing an officer to monitor his house in Sungai Buloh.
"We do receive information on Raja Petra's movement and have tried to locate him at several locations where he would normally be, but until now we don't know where he is," he added.
He said efforts to track down Raja Petra would continue as he also had a case at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court, which had also issued an arrest warrant against him.
Aziz also said he could not ascertain if Raja Petra was still in the country or not.
Judge Mohamad Sakeri Mamat set Nov 13 for final mention of the case.

tunku : i wonder where this coward is hiding.he think he is above the law, he could just write what he wants and accuse anyone he likes.at last he showed Malaysian that he is the product of the melodrama queen moron who actually is the biggest coward and loser of all time.his boss ran to Turkish Embassy , i wonder in which embassy he's hiding now.

Indonesian Minister : Ignore stupid invasion group.

PETALING JAYA: Don’t pay any attention to Indonesia’s STUPID Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat (Bendera), , advised Indonesian Minister Counsellor for Information, Social and Culture to Malaysia Widyarka Ryananta.
“It is not an issue at all. There is no coverage of them at all in Indonesia.
“As long as we don’t mengapi-apikan (fan the fire) their stupid action or stupid intention, I don’t think they will do anything,” said Widyarka in response to reports that Stupid Bendera have postponed their planned “invasion” of Malaysia.
He was referring to Stupid Bendera’s plan to wage war on Malaysia in retaliation to Malaysia purportedly stealing Indonesia’s culture in the form of the Pendet dance and for the abuse of domestic maids working in Malaysia.
Widyarka went on to say that Stupid Bendera “was a very minor group” which did not garner any media coverage in Indonesia.
However, he assured that the Indonesian police was keeping an eye on the group but dismissed them as a minor nuisance compared to other more pressing issues such as the Padang earthquake tragedy.
Stupid Bendera coordinator Moron Mustar Nona Ventura was reported saying that around 1,300 volunteers would depart for Malaysia between Oct 9 and 22, including 50 medical staff.
They have threatened to invade Malaysia “through pathways that will be unexpected for Malaysian security” armed with bamboo spears, samurai swords and other melee weapons.

tunku : i don't think that the Malaysian side is doing the "mengapi-apikan" thing but it's the indonesian side which 24/7 playing this issue as their main issue.if indonesian government is sincere they would have taken action against this stupid invasion group but they are not bothered with it.their government should have advised their people of not taking stupid action and tell the real facts to it's people.

PAS Has Lost Its Direction

PAS Has Lost Its Direction In Bagan Pinang, Says Ali Rustam

PETALING JAYA, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- PAS calling for the Bagan Pinang by-election to be postponed shows it has lost its direction and is "scraping the bottom of the barrel", said Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.
Mohd Ali, who is also Melaka Chief Minister, said PAS was resorting to the action because it knew it could not win the by-election.
"Calling for a by-election to be postponed is unheard of. This just shows how desperate PAS is," he told reporters after opening the Restrees Kopitiam here Thursday.
PAS on Wednesday had asked the Election Commission to postpone the by-election claiming there was some duplication of voters names in the electoral roll.
The by-election, polling of which will be on Sunday, will see a straight fight between the Barisan Nasional's Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, who is also former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, and Zulkefly Mohamad Omar, the Negeri Sembilan PAS Commissioner. It is called following the death of its assemblyman Azman Mohammad Noor, of the BN, on Sept 4.

tunku : pas has lost direction since it form a pact with dap and pkr. pas has given everything it had.now the party is without direction.they just don't have say and power in pakatan.just look at them in bagan pinang, they are struggling, pkr and dap are just watching.pity them.PAS GIVES ALL.

Security forces on alert for stupid ‘Bendera invasion’

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia’s security forces, particularly those guarding the coastlines, have been put on alert after an Indonesian group threatened to invade the country on Thursday.
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusop said any security threat to the country and its people would not be taken lightly, whether or not the attacks take place.
“Our security forces are on alert. They are ready and prepared to meet whatever threats that may come our way. We are always on guard,” he told reporters on Thursday.
However, he said there were no reports of sightings of Indonesians entering the country bearing “long bamboo poles.”
On Sept 28, The Daily Chilli reported that Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat (Bendera) had amassed bows and arrows, samurai swords and bamboo spears for an invasion of Malaysia.
Their mission is to “avenge” all alleged wrongs committed against Indonesia.
The group managed to attract media attention and frenzied supporters with its war cry of “kill Malaysians” and was the same group that set up roadblocks at Menteng, the heart of Jakarta, to “sweep” Malaysians off the street recently.
Both Malaysian and Indonesian authorities scoffed at the idea, saying the threats should not be taken seriously.

Border patrols stepped up
In KUCHING, the Royal Malaysia Police have stepped up security at all entry points from West Kalimantan to Sarawak as a precaution following threats from Bendera, national news agency Bernama reported.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohmad Salleh said patrols by the General Operations Force had been doubled starting Thursday, especially at the Tebedu and Serikin border posts and several illegal trails at the Sarawak-Kalimantan border.
“So far, we have not received any report of moves by the group known as Bendera to enter Sarawak,” he told reporters after the Sarawak police contingent’s monthly assembly and Aidilfitri open house at its headquarters here.
Mohmad said police would also set up roadblocks at major roads leading in and out of the state besides monitoring the industrial and plantation areas where many Indonesians were employed.
He said a police team from the Criminal Investigation Department had surveyed the areas and so far nothing unusual had happened, Bernama reported.
He also said that so far there had been no reports of Malaysians going to Kalimantan being threatened or those there being disturbed.

tunku : we hope our forces will be alert and act stern to any intruders. they can be bendera's idiot group or others, if they crosses our borders without document or bring harm to us,take stern action. the forces should SOS (shoot on site).teach them a lesson but i doubt these cowards will dare to come in. our security forces should concentrate those who are illegally in Malaysia(PENDATANG HARAM TANPA IZIN) as they are the serious threat to us.Hound them down and kick them out of our country.we have been nice to them and all they think is to have war with us.they are jealous of our achievements as they know that they are the stupid people who can't progress better than us.just look at the picture above of their dream.we can't be nice to them anymore.enough is enough.

MIED Trustees Never Held Meeting For 24 Years - Mahalingam

PETALING JAYA, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The Maju Institute of Education Development (MIED) board of trustees had never sat for a meeting in the last 24 years of its establishment, revealed former MIC Treasurer-General Tan Sri M. Mahalingam.
Mahalingam, who was one of the institute's founders, said the MIED board members were dominated by high-profile MIC leaders which included MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samyvellu as the chairman, seven appointed trustees, including himself and 25 other listed members.
"MIED is supposed to be in the hands of the trustees. Any changes must only be done by the trustees who should decide in its future," he told reporters here Wednesday.
He said the 33 board members should know their responsibilities since they had also played a role in estabilishing the MIED.
"Don't waver from the objective of the establishment. MIED is an extension of a wing of MIC. They should be reminded that they owe their position to the people. They should protect the institute," said the former Deputy Minister, two-time Member of Parliament and Senator.
Mahalingam also said he was surprised to discover that he was no longer one of the MIED trustees, beginning this year.
According to the Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology (AIMST) 2008/2009 Annual Report, which was shown to reporters in the media conference, it was stated that Mahalingam was an MIED trustee only until last December.
"I have never signed anything, any letter, or received any notification about this. I have the right to know the reason why I was removed from the board of trustees. I am not angry, I just want to know the reason," said Mahalingam.
He also pointed out that nothing moved in MIED or MIC without Samyvellu's knowledge.
On another note, Mahalingam said Samyvellu should explain his stand on the MIED to the people to clear the air.
Last week, Samyvellu was reported saying that the MIED was a separate entity from the MIC and since it was a separate entity, the MIC had nothing to do with it.
"I heard other MIC leaders comment on this issue, not from Datuk Seri (Samyvellu) himself. He should explain his stand to the people, especially to the Indian community," he said.
To a question by reporters, Mahalingam said he did not know why Samyvellu was slow in giving up his post as party President, and personally thought that it was time him to do so.
"I also ask myself why? (he has not retired)...but I have already, privately, told him to retire, in my capacity as a friend. It's time to hand over the leadership to new people," he added.

tunku : nothing is shocking that MIED board of trustee never held any meeting(for 24years) or appointing/sacking trustee members without their knowledge.when the chairman is samy vellu , law or regulation does not apply, it's only samy's rule.everyone is asking when this shameless man will resign.

PAS and DAP bury the hatchet in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: PAS and the DAP buried the hatchet over a host of issues that had weighed heavily upon the Pakatan Rakyat-led government in Selangor in a two-hour meeting at the Concorde Hotel here.
Selangor PAS Commissioner Datuk Dr Hasan Ali said both parties had acknowledged an end to their bitterness over various issues of late that had been given wide coverage in the media.
PAS, the Islamic party, and the DAP, the Chinese-dominated secular socialist party, had been at each other’s throats over a proposed ban on the sale of beer in Muslim-majority areas and the Select Committee for Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat).
Dr Hasan had crossed swords with Selcat chairman Teng Chang Khim whom he accused of applying bullying tactics against district officers during a public inquiry over misused funds before the last general election in March last year.
“We understand we have political differences in policies and principles ... but the struggle will continue in the spirit of true friendship,” Dr Hasan said.
He said the discussions were fruitful as PAS and DAP members were more enlightened on each other’s differences and found that their meeting had strengthened their coalition state government.
“We believe that the beer ban issue would be resolved on its own based on the self-regulation method (proposed by the state administration), while the Selcat issue has ended with some positive feedback.
“So, speculation that some were prepared to jump ship to the Barisan Nasional over these issues is unfounded and untrue,” he added.
Dr Hasan said both parties had pledged to defend each other from outside attacks aimed at wreaking havoc in the Pakatan-led Selangor government.
“PAS and the DAP will work together to bring forth a better Pakatan-led government to ensure a stable, progressive, transparent welfare state that continues to be strong,” he said.
“From now on, we will hold regular meetings to iron out our differences on ideas and views, with the aim for better governance in the state,” he said.
Present at the meeting were Selangor DAP chairman Ean Yong Hian Wah, Selangor DAP deputy chairman Tony Pua, Klang Member of Parliament Charles Santiago, and state executive councillors Ronnie Liu, Iskandar Abdul Samad and Teresa Kok.

tunku : no matter what at the end, pas has to give up it's principles and struggles for dap and pkr as the two party are much more supreme than pas.pas will always be loser in pakatan and they are willing to be one as long as they can have some piece of the cake for their own satisfaction.people are the last thing in their agenda.it is high time for pas to change it's name.pas gives all.

MIC MAKES INROADS IN ESTATES IN BAGAN PINANG

PORT DICKSON, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Over the last 10 days, the MIC’s election machinery bulldozed its way into the four estates in the Bagan Pinang constituency and appeared to be holding the "Indian bastion" from slipping into the opposition hands.
MIC president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu said the MIC wanted to keep its pledge to deliver as many Indian votes as possible to the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Oct 11 Bagan Pinang state by-election.
He said that since nomination day last Saturday, almost 1,000 party members, including those from the Youth, Wanita, Puteri and Putera wings had "literally camped" at the predominantly Indian populated estates.
"We have maintained our position in the estates even before nomination day and have assured the Indian voters (in the estates) that the government will continue to bring changes and progress to them,” he said after concluding another six straight hours of campaigning in Bagan Pinang last night.
Bagan Pinang, which is the Teluk Kemang parliamentary constituency, has 30 per cent non-Malay votes.
Twenty per cent or 2,834 of the voters are Indians and are mostly concentrated in the four estates -- Bradwell, Atherthon, Siliau and Sua Betong -- and 10 per cent or 1,498 are Chinese scattered in the constituency.
The Malays account for 62 per cent or about 8,500 of the voters, including postal voters.
Samy Vellu said his confidence in getting the Indian voters’ support for the (BN) candidate would be further strengthened by Human Resources Minister and MIC vice-president Datuk Dr. S.Subramaniam’s scheduled announcement tomorrow on his (Dr Subramaniam’s) meeting with officials of Sime Darby which own the four estates.
Dr Subramaniam had said that he would announce details of his discussions with the plantation giant last Monday on the solutions to many of the estate workers’ woes.
Samy Vellu who is leading the MIC charge in Bagan Pinang, admitted that the Indian voters were not only concerned with developments but also wanted their rights to be protected by the government.
"We have held several discussions with the residents in the estates and they are happy with the initiatives being taken by our prime minister.
"They are very clear now. They know for a fact that the government has taken steps to bring progress to the Indian community and that it can only continue if the BN is given a stronger mandate,” he said.
Samy Vellu said other MIC leaders like deputy president Datuk G.Palanivel and Dr Subramaniam, who have also been campaigning daily, had managed to "break the barrier" with the Indian voters since the last general election where many of them had supported the PAS candidate.
“The environment and mood among the Indian voters is now different compared with the last general election,” he said.
He said the MIC expected a big turnout at the party’s Deepavali open house tomorrow at 8pm at the Sua Betong estate which would also be graced by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and other top BN leaders.

tunku : seems it's early Deepavali for bagan pinang's Indian as tomorrow an open house will be held for Deepavali there. i wonder why only now Mic making inroads to those estates. all these while what was samy doing? sleeping or busy making money? we hope Mic will not wait for election or by election to make inroads to Indian majority area.they should have started it after the last general election.

Candidates for high posts in Umno must be respected figures: Hisham

PORT DICKSON: Although the quota system will be done away with, a new condition will be imposed whereby aspirants of high posts in Umno must be respected figures, said Umno vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
Hishammuddin, who is also Home Minister, said the party president and deputy president were not worried about the abolishing of the quota system but did not want a system that was too open to the point that could lead to abuse by irresponsible parties.
"We do not want a situation where someone who is a non-member signs up as member just before the party holds polls and offers himself for the president's post," he told reporters Tuesday after chairing a meeting of a committee tasked with overseeing proposed amendments to Umno's constitution when the party holds it annual assembly later this month.
Hishammuddin said Tuesday's meeting was held to discuss the setting of minimum requirements for new members (who want to contest leadership posts) and that this would be deliberated at a special meeting during the general assembly.
"We need to fine tune the new system a bit because there were views from below of such a scenario," he said, adding that with the changes mooted, Umno was well on track towards meeting its transformation goals following the Barisan Nasional's poor showing in the last general election.
Under the old quota system, aspirants had to get a certain minimum number of nominations from the party's divisions in order to contest a top post in the party.
The higher the post, the higher the number of nominations that was needed. - Bernama

tunku : too much freedom or too democratic is not good sometime.there must be a guideline for those who wish to contest for top post in umno.for top post like the vice president and above, the person should be an active Umno member for at least 15years. we can't have a person who is an Umno member for few months to contest for the vice president post and above or the wing's chief.the person should not have discipline record with the party such as suspended for abuse of power or corruption and of course not criminal record.this is real important.the person should be an Umno loyalist and clean from any charges.if the person was ex umno member(rejoin), he should not contest any post in Umno for at least 6 years.of course the current quota system should be abolished and the divisions should be allowed to vote for the leaders not the delegates to the general assembly.

Coward Lim guan Eng To Take On Koh Without Preconditions

PENANG, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is ready "anytime and anywhere" to take on Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon in a live telecast debate without pre-conditions.
The DAP secretary-general told reporters today that he could debate with the Gerakan president, even at the Gerakan or Umno headquarters, provided there was no condition.
Lim said the debate on the Kampung Buah Pala issue should go on without any condition, when commenting on the status of the highly-anticipated debate between the two leaders.
Nevertheless, the chief minister said there was no necessity to de-classify minutes of the state executive council meeting on the Kampang Buah Pala issue as requested by Dr Koh.
"The current state government did not make a single decision in favour of the cooperative or developers...I did not sign any document in favour of any party, so there is no point in de-classifying the minutes," he said.
Earlier, state Gerakan Youth vice-chairman H'ng Khoon Leng said, de-classifying the minutes would show the DAP-led government as betraying the Kampung Buah Pala residents.

tunku : why must guan eng be afraid of declassifying the minutes on kampung buah pala?for sure there is something that he wants to hide from the people.is this the man who shouts about credibility, accountability and transparency(CAT)? i don't think so, he is showing example like a "kucing kurap".walk the talk guan eng.

Indonesia 'stupid' black magic force invading Malaysia .

Just be cautious of ‘sweep’ M’sians threat: Jelaing

KUCHING: Members of the public should not be overly worried about a threat of harassment by a self-proclaimed vigilante group in Indonesia stating that they would ‘sweep’ Malaysians come Oct 8.Deputy Home Minister Jelaing Mersat said even though he personally could not tell if the threat was real, Malaysians must be cautious just in case the group had managed to influence some of their fellow nationals in the country to act irrationally.
“Do not be worried about it (news) but at the same time be cautious,” he told The Borneo Post when contacted in Saratok yesterday.
He said he would inform his ministry about this latest development on security, assuring that should there be a potential threat to security a unit in the ministry would know about it.
Jelaing, also Saratok MP, advised members of the public not to be fearful of negative elements creeping into the country because the relevant authorities would eventually deal with them.
According to a feature in The Sunday Star yesterday, the Indonesian group - Bendera (Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat or People’s Democratic Defence) led by 38-year-old Adian Napituplu - claimed that they were planning to ‘sweep’ Malaysians “because Malaysians sweep Indonesians in Malaysia”.
By ‘sweeping’, Adian said he meant the process of asking Malaysians in Indonesia to go home.
On Sept 8, the group members armed with sharpened bamboo sticks held a roadblock in Jakarta Indonesia, saying they were looking for Malaysians. The action only lasted 30 minutes because the Indonesian police stopped them.
Asajaya assemblyman Karim Abdul Rahman Hamzah, who is chief political secretary to the Chief Minister described the group’s ‘Sapu Malaysia’ call as stupid.
He said any vigilante group with the intention to create disharmony and war between nations, races or religions must be stopped at its ‘bud’.
“The crazy idea must be stopped and leaders of both nations as well as the media must play their part to avoid any escalation of such issue,” he said.
Malaysia and Indonesia, he said, are two friendly nations with same cultural, religious and racial background.
Therefore both countries must not allow this friendly relationship be tainted by some extremists who wanted to create dissents between the two nations.
He pointed out that no one would gain from any quarrel between these two great nations.
An Indonesian Embassy official in Kuala Lumpur had described Bendera’s plan to ‘invade’ Malaysia through villages first before proceeding into the Malaysian capital as “too ludicrous to respond to officially”.
According to The Sunday Star, Adian had dismissed the embassy’s response, saying that it would be Bendera that is going to ‘invade’ Malaysia and not their government.
They are sending about 300 Indonesians tarined in black magic which makes them invincible to sharp objects and bullets to invade Malaysian towns in Borneo starting with Kuching. After Sarawak and Sabah they will be heading to Kuala Lumpur.

tunku : just look at these "stupid" mentality people(People Democratic Defence {BENDERA} of Indonesia).first of all i wonder why their government is not taking action against them? they had made clear their intention of invading Malaysia, by right their government had taken the stupid leader by the name of Adian Napitulu in custody because jeopardizing the good relationship of two countries.he can even be held under terrorism act. Don't just make statement that Malaysian should not take seriously what this group is doing.put these barbarians behind the bars.when indonesian in trouble(which they are always in) Malaysian had not failed to give their hands to help.Just look at the recent earthquake and many many of the earlier ones.enough is enough.

Malaysians Will Not Fare Any Better If Opposition Takes Over, Says Dr M

DUNGUN, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysians will not fare any better if the Opposition takes over the federal government from the Barisan Nasional (BN),said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
According to him, most of the leaders from the Opposition were seen to be willing to change their stand just to gain popularity and support from the people.
Some of them, he said, were willing to declare as "halal" (permissible in Islam) what they used to say were "haram" (forbidden in Islam) simply to please former enemies who now had become partners in the Opposition's Pakatan coalition.
"I think things will only get worse (if the Opposition comes into power at the federal level). Their leaders are willing to make "halal" everything. Previously, PAS (one of the Opposition's coalition members) had said cooperation with non-Muslims would make one an infidel but now not only are they cooperating with non-Muslims, they are also saying it is okay to rear pigs, only that Muslims should not consume pork.
"PAS quotes the Quran that pork is "haram" but that it did not say pigs cannot be reared. Going by this, it means we (Muslims) can rear pigs, can sell pork but not eat it. Just because they want the cooperation of some people, they are willing to compromise on their principles," he told reporters here on Monday.
The other parties in the Opposition Pakatan coalition are the Chinese dominated DAP and multiracial Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Earlier, he had delivered a lecture entitled "Dari Minda Tun, Ketuanan Melayu" (From Tun's Mind, Malay Supremacy) at Dewan Aspirasi Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Terengganu here.
Also present was UiTM vice chancellor, Tan Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah.
Mahathir further explained that Malaysia could ill-afford leaders who were inconsistent in their stand just for the sake of gaining popularity.
"It is just the same with another leader who is a now a strong supporter of Hindraf (the banned Hindu Rights Action Force movement)," he said without naming who he was referring to.
Commenting on the future of Umno, the backbone of the BN, he said the party was still relevant but its leaders and members must be wise and brave in taking "corrective measures".
"If a leader does something that is not good, they must voice out...I laud the appointment of Senator Datuk Seri Idris Jala as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department. There should be more appointments from outside the party in government leadership positions," he said.
In his speech, Mahathir urged bumiputera students to be brave in competing with other races, including in pursuing higher education in private tertiary institutions that were not dominated by bumiputeras like UiTM.
They should prove their ability to compete by enrolling in institutions like Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman, he added.

tunku : it is true, pas(read pus and also mean pus) has changed from Islamic party to unIslamic party.it's name used to be PIS(parti Islam seMalysia)and now pas(parti angguk sahaja)they no longer champion Islam just to be popular among the non Muslims.they forget that the true Islamic teaching is very simple and teach us to live peacefully and be fair to all.what was haram last time is halal now.when bn government was controlling selangor, they urged the calsberg factory in shah alam to be closed down and accused umno leaders as munafik.now when they are in control, they let it run and on top of that let them sells liquors in Muslim majority areas. the accused Umno as infidels because they pact with non Muslims and now they themselves doing it. till now we can see the states under them is not progressing at all. they are fighting with each other for power and RM(money).if these people rule the country, for sure they will ruin everything.they are the one who is dividing the races by creating tense all the time.it is so obvious that pas is dap's puppet.PAS GIVES ALL.

Dr Koh to Guan Eng: Practise what you preach

PUTRAJAYA: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon has told Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to practise what he preaches, especially in matters concerning transparency.
“He (Lim) champions transparency but he himself is not transparent. All I wanted was transparency and accountability,” Dr Koh, the former Penang chief minister, said after opening the Public Complaints Management Seminar here on Monday.
He was asked to comment on the spat between the two leaders, which began after Lim challenged Dr Koh last week to a debate on alleged land scams during the latter’s administration of the state.
Dr Koh picked up the gauntlet three days ago but said that first he wanted the current state government to declassify the state executive council meeting minutes on the Kampang Buah Pala saga so that things could be done in a transparent manner.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, then accused Dr Koh, the Gerakan president, of being insincere as he was imposing conditions for the debate.
“I have already stated my conditions but this does not mean that I am insincere. He should be prepared to be transparent.
“I have asked him to open the (Kampung Buah Pala) exco minutes and he should be prepared to do so. This looks like the champion of transparency himself is not transparent after all,” Dr Koh said on Monday.
Earlier, he said the Public Complaints Bureau received an average of 11,000 complaints against civil servants monthly.
“And 40% of the complaints are through the electronic medium such as email and short messaging service. This also shows that people are starting to lodge complaints if they have ways to do it.
“With these two media, it is easier to lodge a complaint. The bulk of these complaints concerns the local councils, the police, the National Registration Department and the Immigration Department,” he said.
He said these agencies and departments received the highest number of complaints because of their high exposure to the public.
Most of the complaints were about delay in replying to various applications like renewal of licences and permits. -- Bernama

tunku: for guan eng, transparency only meant for bn not for them.if guan eng is really sincere just declassify the state executive council meeting minutes on the kampang buah pala issue.why want to hide it?you hide it when you did something wrong.guan eng is indeed not practicing what he preaches."cakap tak serupa bikin".

Kedah Government Slammed For Neglecting Tourism

ALOR SETAR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The Kedah government was today taken to task for neglecting tourism in the state.
Kedah Tourism Action Council chairman Datuk Othman Aziz said the state government had neglected tourism facilities and projects that had been handed over to it.
He cited as an example the RM6.44 million tourism project in Gunong Keriang near here which now had become an eyesore with the place unkempt and overrun by undergrowth.
"This was a federal project under the Ninth Malaysia Plan. It was completed in March and handed over to the Kedah government in April but now has become a sorry sight," he told reporters at the council's Aidifitri open house here today.
"He further accused the Kedah government of not making serious efforts to draw in tourists so much so tourist arrivals at 600,000 last year was a 15 per cent drop from the 2.8 million arrivals recorded in 2007.
He added that the council was willing to work with the Kedah government to "put tourism back on track" in the state.

tunku: kedah government under azizan had failed miserably.he has not been able to bring any new development in the state.the only thing he does is to gives timber concession to his cronies as much as he can.i heard from a friend that alor setar had turned into garbage dumping ground last few weeks.kedah will never develop under the current leadership and government.it is not moving.the gunong keriang project is one of the evidence of the failure of the state government.

Abdul Azeez Nursing Soft Tissue Injury

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- Umno supreme council member Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who was allegedly punched by several PAS supporters on Saturday, was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital here Saturday night with a soft tissue injury.
Abdul Azeez said he was rushed to the hospital after he vomitted and fainted at his house in Subang Jaya near here upon returning from the nomination of the Bagan Pinang state by-election in Port Dickson yesterday.
Soft tissue injury is damage of the soft tissue of the body.
"After the Maghrib prayer, I felt like fainting, I threw up and passed out. I was in pain and my blood pressure shot up to 65/95. It was never that high before," he told reporters at the hospital today.
Abdul Azeez, who claimed that he was punched on his neck as he was walking towards the nomination centre, said an X-ray showed that there was no fracture on his neck.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who managed to evade the incident, visited Abdul Azeez at the hospital.
Abdul Azeez had lodged a report at the Port Dickson District Police Headquarters.

tunku : we know that some of pas supporters like hooligans or gangsters.no doubt about how the opposition supporters behaves during elections.they think they are the king and no one can stop them.then again, i hope azeez would not exaggerate his condition.we know that he was punched few times by the opposition gangsters.next time be extra careful when you know there are gangsters around especially from the opposition party.hope that azeez will avoid active politics if he has high blood pressure.active politics is bad for a person who's having high blood pressure which can lead to heart attack.

Malaysian Student In France Wants To Put Public Transport On Track

PARIS, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- With the relevant knowledge and techology gained in France, electrical engineering student Ahmad Shukri Amin Ahmed Ismail is set to improve Malaysia's public transportation.
Two years ago, the 26-year-old, from Penang, conducted a study on public transportation operated by RapidPenang in the island.
His conclusion: There was still room for improvement for Malaysia's public transportation.
"It (the transportation) is okay, but not to perfection," said the student of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis when describing the current public transport service in Penang.
Ahmad Shukri, whose specialisation is automotive robotics, believed that he and his Malaysian peers in France could make a difference to Malaysia's transportation system, given a chance.
"We have the technology and knowledge that Malaysia can use and benefit but we not sure they (the authorities) want it.
"We are hoping that they are willing to accept our new ideas," he said when met during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's arrival for a four-day working visit to France on Sunday.
Ahmad Shukri will be joining other Malaysian students here to meet Najib later.
Comparing the transportation system in Penang's Georgetown to France's Nice, he said, what was visibly lacking back home were the bus schedules, mapping system and unnamed bus stops.
As such, he was prepared to submit a proposal to the relevant parties to improve the public transportation system.
Ahmad Shukri said Malaysian students in France were generally concerned with the country's economy and job prospects back home but were confident in Najib's administration to steer the economy on the right track.

tunku: our public transportation still in bad condition especially in smaller cities.i wonder what happened to the RM 4 billion allocated for public transportation during pak lah's time after he increased the fuel's prices.we want to know what was spent? we hope najib will take public transportation seriously.they should not only concentrates in big cities but cover all the cities and big towns in malaysia.i am sure najib is open and willing to listen to any suggestions.
