Proceedings in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal against conviction
will be extended a day, with the prosecution expected to only begin
submitting on Wednesday.
Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah confirmed the prosecution’s
submissions would be either “tomorrow afternoon, or the day after
tomorrow”.
Despite starting his submission at 9.30am, Anwar’s lead counsel Gopal
Sri Ram had asked for two extra hours to finish his submissions when
the court took a break for lunch at 1pm.
Asked his opinion about the defence’s submission, Shafee said it was an
argument they expected to hear, and that the prosecution had “all the
answers”
