Sodomy 2 - What more Anwar ?

Sodomy II: Karpal wants prosecution team to step down over affair

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s defence team is applying to strike out the charge against Anwar on grounds of compromised integrity of the prosecution team over the alleged affair between Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Farah Azlina Latif and Saiful Bukhari, who has accused the Opposition leader of sodomising him.
Karpal told the High court that entire prosecution team should step down and Solicitor General II Datuk Yusof Zainal Abiden should take blame.
High Court judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah said the court will hear the application on Aug 9 before continuing with the cross examination of witnesses.
On July 27, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail confirmed on Tuesday Farah Azlina was dropped from the prosecution team in the sodomy trial of former deputy prime minister.
He said the move was a follow-up to the allegation that Farah Azlina had had a romantic relationship with the key witness in the case, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
He said Farah Azlina was also dropped from the Prosecution Division of the Attorney-General's Chambers for the same reason.
"The Attorney-General's Chambers cannot compromise on any issue that can tarnish the image or credibility of the department and we are looking at such matters very seriously.
"This can be very difficult for us but any personal matter, if it can have any implication in whatever form on the department, will be handled very seriously," he had told reporters at a press conference at his office, here.
The press conference was held to explain the latest development and answer questions on the relationship between Farah Azlina and Mohd Saiful as reported in the website 'Malaysia Today' recently.
Abdul Gani had said Farah Azlina had to be dropped not because she was found guilty, but to avoid any negative public perception on the prosecution team.
"This move is also to ensure that the smooth running of the case is not affected," he said.
However, he said Farah Azlina had very limited involvement in the case, which was to assist in recording all notes on the proceedings.
"She had no access at all to the investigation papers or any confidential information that the prosecution has," he had said.
The prosecution team for the case is headed by Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden who is assisted by DPP Datuk Nordin Hassan, DPP Noorin Badaruddin, DPP Mohamed Hanafiah Zakaria, DPP Wong Chiang Kiat, DPP Mira Mirna Musa, DPP Naidatul Athirah Azman and Farah Azlina.

The judge should just carry on with the case as scheduled instead of agreeing to any flimsy excuse to delay the trial.
The late Augustine Paul was much better. If Karpal were to ask for any delay, Augustine will say "Its irrelevent!"
Get on with the trial!

I would like point out to all readers of this blog i.e. if someone is really innocent, he will do everything within his power to prove his innocence. Firstly he would go to all the mosques in Malaysia and take oath in the name of Allah that he had never, never, never sodomise Saiful Bukhari. A person who claimed he is innocent is so scared to do so. Why? Why? Why?

The only answer is that he really did it. Fullstop.
