KUALA KLAWANG, June 28 (Bernama) -- Pas general adviser Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's call for a public debate with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to end the political stir between his party and Umno is a waste of time.Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim who said this today, explained that the proposal would not bring any meaning in resolving any issue including Pas' unity government idea.
"Instead, to reach a consensus is better than having a debate because Pas and Umno members are of the same race and religion," he told reporters after opening the Kampung Gagu Umno meeting near here.
Rais who is Umno supreme council member and Jelebu Umno chief, said there was no reason for debate and if there were issues, it would be better to achieve common grounds.
"Out of a sudden -- there's no storm, no rain -- we're going to have a debate. What are the issues?
"The debate will not bring anything. In fact, I believe now is not the time for the government or the prime minister to spend time debating," he said.
tunku : what type of ulama is this? no unity talks but wants a debate. he is always in full gear to fight umno,he is full of hatred.instead of championing unity among the ummah,he is encouraging fights and hatred. what happened to nik aziz? please act like an ulama.

Sorry to say that Nik Aziz is not an ulamak...ever since Anwar the moron is in control of the PR....pity PAS....
Well what ever our perception about Nik Aziz he is a Tok Guru to who ever accepting him as a Tok Guru. Nobody could change that.
Since Tok Guru already offered for a debate with Premier Najib it is about time to offer him audience with our Premier Najib. At least our Premier Najib could listen and hear it directly from Tok Guru about the specific issue and other issues from him.
I do not see anything wrong for a Menteri Besar to meet a Prime Minister. Put aside the political idealogy diferrences. Then the Rakyat for sure would fruit from the meeting.
If Democrat President in the United States could meet up with Governor from Republican party i do not see anything wrong for our Premier Najib to meet up with Tok Guru as a Kelantan Menteri Besar.
Regardless what people thought about Nik Aziz still his heart of friendship and respect to our Premier Najib could not as worst as others thought because Premier Najib is still his fesh and blood brother in Islam.
One thing that the politician should remember is that prior to election the voters recongnize the politician with the brand of either BN, Pas, Keadilan or Dap etc. After they won they be recongnized as Member of Parliment for Titiwangsa, Batu, Putrajaya etc regardless of their affiliation anymore. Therefore they must be closed with their voters to their voters satisfaction.
In order to win back of our voters we need to be in touch with every heart of our voter. By accepting to meet up with the Kelantan Menteri Besar it is a good gesture of leadership quality by our Premier Najib to the Rakyat. This kind of event or oppurtunity would also touch their heart to our Premier Najib and BN.
if he is seeking an audience with the pm, then pm must grant it but here the so called tok guru wants debates not an audience.
