KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has reminded the mosque committee members in Selangor to be aware of any deviant teachings and movements in the state.
He said the mosque committee members should immediately report the matter to the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) fur further action, if they spotted anything suspicious.
"I do not want the elements of this heresy to occur and grow in this state," he said when opening the Seri Melati Mosque at Taman Seri Melati, Gombak here Thursday.
He also reminded the mosque committees not to allow mosques in the state to be used for any political purpose.
At the event, he also presented Hari Raya contributions to 400 people, comprising the poor, orphans and new converts, before breaking fast with the locals.

tunku : we can see that now Islam in under threat in Malaysia because of some quarters willing to compromise their religion for political gain.the Muslims must stop this threat at all cost.do not compromise when it comes to our religion for any reason.we hope Jais will not be pressured by the state government in carrying out their duty and obligation.
