HADI CHANGES FROM FUNDAMENTALIST TO POLITICIAN JUST TO BE PM
PAS is in trouble as the party leaders balance themselves son a tightrope trying not to fall flat on their cheats and lies and their differences among themselves as well as with partners in Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
President Abdul Hadi Awang is in a catch 22 position on the use of the word ‘ALLAH’ as he clashes with his deputy head of syura council Dr Harun Taib and information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
Hadi seems to be getting out of the ‘veterans league’ that had group together to fend off the onslaught by the liberals who are aligned to PKR de facto chief Anwar Ibrahim just two years ago.
Dr Harun and Tuan Ibrahim were two of the few veteran fundamentalists that included Hadi and party secretary-general Mustapa Ali, warding off the liberals’ attack at that time and the victim was Nasharuddin Mat Isa, who was defeated by Mohamad Sabu or Mat Sabu as deputy president.
However, Hadi is now seen as softening to Anwar’s pressure when he began contradicting the party’s philosophy and ideology in defending the sanctity of Islam when he loosen up of his fundamentalist’ stand.
The contradictory statements between Hadi and Dr Harun is not differences in opinions on the subject matter but it is pure contradiction which Hadi himself knows will invite trouble from within.
But Hadi is in a desperate position as he tries to prevent erosion of support while at the same time pleasing the partners in PR.
Walking on a tightrope, he now seems to be selling his principles one by one, as though he is under some kind of threats from outside, political threats that would put him to shame.
Whether he is really under threats personally given the fact Anwar’s men are good in tracking past scandals and weaknesses of an intended victim, only Hadi knows and his behavior has invited more distrusts from members and supporters.
To those members who intent to distance themselves and supporters who leave, Hadi is no longer the ulamaks they respected but a politician who ‘dance accordingly to the tunes’ of those he needs help or wanting to close certain ‘skeletons in the cupboard.’
Hadi is now a politician whose level is the same to that of Anwar and Lim Guan Eng, with the difference in dressing as Hadi always in his jubbah and turban while the other two in modern attire.
Hadi is considered as a man who no longer aims to correct the wrongs but is a mere human who aims to be the Prime Minister, who aims for power more than ALLAH’s blessings.
He is now a competitor to Anwar for the position and like Anwar, he now will do anything including twisting facts like he did with his edict in 1981, so long as he achieves his aim and pleases his partners.
