Business for Pakatan's Lawyer

Pakatan to appoint own lawyers in four states

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Rakyat has decided to appoint its own legal advisers and lawyers in the four state governments under its control, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim The Moron said.
Anwar the moron claimed that the legal advisers from the Attorney-General’s Chambers were not independent in giving their input on state legal affairs as they were appointed by the Federal Government.
“This had made work difficult at state level,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby yesterday.
The opposition states are Kedah, Kelantan, Penang and Selangor.

tunku : this is another way to give business to their cronies. their lawyers need business so they make new rules to suit it. 'clean sweep' or 'clean shave' everything that they can take, that's is the agenda now.the moron claimed that the legal advisers from the Attorney-General’s Chambers were not independent, now will they be independent when they are from your side? what logic is this?

No Hidden Agenda On Azmin's Appointment, Says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has insisted that there is no hidden agenda in vice-president Mohamed Azmin Ali taking over as the party chief in Selangor from Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
Anwar said the replacement was undertaken due to Abdul Khalid's heavy workload.
"At first I disagreed but after several discussions, we saw that he needs to share the burden, he needs the political programmes to be handled by someone else," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here on Monday.
The switch was announced yesterday by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail along with the appointment of Datuk Zaid Ibrahim as PKR Federal Territory chief with immediate effect.
On speculation that 15 PKR members of parliament was pushing for Khalid's resignation, Anwar said any move to oust Khalid should go to him first.
"There was never any discussion on the matter at any level to express such demand. If there was a move to oust Khalid as the Menteri Besar it should go through me first as I have some influence on the matter, but the issue has never cropped up," he added.
Meanwhile, Mohd Azmin said the new arrangement would be more effective for the state and he supported Abdul Khalid as the MB.
"Our relationship has been very cordial, there is no problem, I work closely with Tan Sri Khalid. My position remains that he should stay as menteri besar and I will give my full support to Tan Sri Khalid.
He also said he respected the appointment of Zaid as Federal Territory chief.
"That is not my decision. I think he is the right person to lead Wilayah," Mohd Azmin said.

tunku : the moron anwar is right, there is no hidden agenda on azmin's appointment.it's an open agenda to replace khalid with azmin as mb if pakatan retain selangor after next GE.it is best for khalid to resign as he is like a captain without a ship now.he will be a MB with less power and no control of the party in the state.the moron anwar telling the world that the replacement was undertaken due to khalid's heavy workload, why not make azmin as the deputy of khalid so that he can help khalid? pkr going haywire.as a MB, khalid should be at least the state deputy chief if not the chief but he is nothing now.he is a MB with no value.

Pak Lah Big Time Liar.

Up To The Government To Revive Bridge Project - Abdullah

KEPALA BATAS, June 27 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said it is up to the government whether to revive its plan to build a bridge to replace the causeway connecting Malaysia and Singapore.
He said the government would know what to do.
"It's up to the government. This is a major project; the government knows what to do," he told reporters after opening the Kepala Batas Puteri Umno meeting, here Sunday.
He was asked to comment on the remark by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, asking the government to revive the plan to build the bridge.
The project was mooted by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad when he was the prime minister but Abdullah decided to scrap it in 2006.
In JOHOR BAHARU, the city was abuzzed over the sultan's remark, with many expressing support to the call for the revival of the bridge project.
Johor Baharu Umno Youth chief Khalid Mohamad said the people of Johor had been waiting for the bridge for so long.
"His Royal Highness' remark was timely and in line with the aspirations of Johorians," he told Bernama.
He hoped that the much-improved bilateral relations between Malaysia and Singapore would provide a conducive environment for the revival of the bridge project, which he said would ease the severe traffic congestion in Johor Baharu and surrounding areas.
Citing the recent Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad land swap accord reached between the two countries, Khalid said Malaysia and Singapore were able to agree on the matter because of the warmer relations.
Vice-president of the Johor, Federal Territory and Selangor-born Malay Association, Datuk Syed Hussein Al-Habshee said the Sultan of Johor's call for the bridge project showed that the ruler was in touch with the aspirations of the people.
"The Sultan of Johor truly cares for the people who wanted to see the construction of a new bridge," he said, adding that the bridge would bring about "multiplier effects" to the local economy.
The association, which has 3,000 members, also welcomed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's reaction to the sultan's call, he said.
Najib had said that the government would look into the matter.

tunku : just look at this senile old man called pak lah the sleepy head.now he says up to the government because it is a big project but when he scrapped it he said that by law Malaysia can't build the bridge etc. this shows that he is a big time liar.he will be cursed the rest of his life.he has cheated the public with his propaganda when he scrapped the bridge project. because of him government lost billions.

Build the bridge Najib.

Sultan Of Johor Wants New Bridge To Replace Causeway

JOHOR BAHARU, June 26 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has called on the government to reconsider reviving the bridge project to replace the Johor Causeway.
He said the causeway was very important to the people and the Johor sultanate since previous rulers had always be supportive of efforts to upgrade the causeway.
"Looking back, there is no doubt that the causeway is very important to the people.
"As such, the ancestors of my family since the late Sultan Ibrahim till my father, the late Sultan Iskandar had always been supportive of efforts to upgrade the causeway," he said when opening JB Sentral and launching the Kembara Mahkota Johor 2010 here Saturday.
The proposal to build an S-shaped bridge, widely dubbed the 'crooked bridge', was mooted by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but was scrapped by his successor Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in 2006.
On JB Sentral, Sultan Ibrahim said he was confident that the people were delighted with the successful completion of JB Sentral although the main component of the complex, that is, a bridge had yet to be implemented.
He said the opening of JB Sentral was historic event as his late father, Sultan Iskandar had opened the Sultan Iskandar Building which housed the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex on Dec 1, 2008.
According to Sultan Ibrahim, he himself was involved in the Sultan Iskandar Building, JB Sentral and bridge projects, which were approved in 2003, by offering his views. "When the government encountered a problem in finding a suitable site in Johor Baharu to relocate the residents of Lumba Kuda and Bukit Chagar flats, my late father gave permission for 27 acres of the Johor Sultanate land in Kampung Bakar Batu to be used to resettle the residents affected by the projects. "This is an indication of the palace's support to enable the projects to get off the ground in the interests of the people," he said.
While commending the federal government and state governments for the successful completion of Sultan Iskandar Building and JB Sentral, Sultan Ibrahim also expressed his pleasure as both projects were completed as schedule by Bumiputera contractors from the state.
He hoped more government projects would be awarded to Bumiputera contractors from the state as they had proven their ability to develop mega projects.
Sultanah Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris, Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman were present.

tunku : najib should really think about reviving the bridge project which was scrapped by the sleepy head pak lah. najib should listen to Sultan Ibrahim and it was also the wish of Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and the people of Johor.the bridge is very vital for Malaysia, especially for Johor.we don't have to tell again and again the benefits of having the bridge as everyone knows about it.we hope najib would be brave enough to build the bridge.

Khalid says reports asking him to step down mere speculation

KUALA SELANGOR: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Friday said the report claiming that 15 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) want him to give up his post was merely a speculation.
"I have not received anything from the group concerned, so it can be merely a speculation," he told reporters after presenting land titles to residents in Kampung Sungai Yu, here.
A media report stated that all the PKR MPs wanted Abdul Khalid to withdraw and relinquish his post as the Selangor Mentri Besar.
It is learnt that the same group would submit their proposal to the PKR leadership at a gathering of the party in Shah Alam during the weekend.
Asked for his reaction if he were to get the letter from the group caling for his withdrawal, Abdul Khalid said: "I will acept the letter and read it". - Bernama

tunku : this whole scenario shows how weak khalid's administration is in selangor.khalid is leading the state without clear vision.so many loopholes.khalid and azmin can deny their crisis but can't fool people as they can see what's going on in the state.

15 PKR MPs team up to oust Khalid

KLANG: A group of 15 PKR MPs close to party vice president Azmin Ali have teamed-up to oust Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor Mentri Besar.
Azmin, who is Gombak MP and Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman started the ball rolling Wednesday when he tendered his resignation as director of the Selangor State Development Corporation, supposedly over the appointment of Khalid’s new political secretary Faekah Husin.
“We cannot tolerate Khalid any more and want him removed,” said one of the MP who declined to be named.
“We will reject all positions offered to us by the state’s government linked companies and won’t have anything to do with the Selangor government until Khalid is removed,’’ he added.
He said the MPs were also unhappy with Khalid’s inability to make quick decisions, which they felt could threaten Pakatan Rakyat’s position in Selangor.
Khalid’s decision to appoint Faekah to replace his previous political secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad without first consulting the party’s political bureau and other leaders was the last straw for the group.
“To make matters worse the announcement was made when both party adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail were overseas,’’ said the MP.
Adding insult to injury, he said that Khalid’s office had invited the person the political bureau had chosen to be his new political secretary to the dinner where Faekah’s appointment was announced.
“This person was invited to attend the dinner and then someone else’s name was announced instead of his. How do you think he felt?’’ said the MP.
He declined to name the person, but said he is a division chief of a Kuala Lumpur parliamentary constituency.
“We wanted the political secretary to be a bridge between the state, the party and the grassroots. Faekah is not a grassroots person and that’s why we feel she is unsuitable for the job,’’ he added.

tunku : and the story goes............leave pkr guys, there's nothing good about pkr.there's nothing good about selangor government too.it's all haywire from top to bottom.thing get worst when they got economic advisor with a pay of RM1 per month.the advisor advice them how to make themselves and the party rich but not the state and it's people.they are giving state land through pkns/pnsb to companies which are giving them kickbacks of millions and millions.khalid should beware now as anwar's blue eyed boy is not happy with him.

School Based Assessment System May Replace Exams - Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- A school based assessment system may be used to replace an exam-oriented education system in the country said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Muhyiddin who is also Education Minister said the Examination Board would determine the type of questions that can be used by teachers for such assessment in schools.
"We will replace exams with an assessment system. It has not been finalised but a study has been done and found to be acceptable because such a system is used in many countries.
"The system might not be very different from other countries, provided the education system - how teachers teach and how students study - is not affected. The concern is how to evaluate achievement of students - through examinations or assessment," he told the Dewan Rakyat when winding up debate on the 10th Malaysia Plan, for his ministry, here today.
He added that the government would not make hasty decisions on policy matters like proposals to scrap the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) exams.
"Many experts have said that it should have been done long ago, why now? We have carried out a research and study since 2007 because we have a team to look into such issues," he said.
Muhyiddin said reducing public examinations would actually save the government money in aspects of management, human resource and the burden of teachers to carry out such examinations process.
As for revamping technical, vocational and skills education system to become part of the premier education system of the country, Muhyiddin said the government would increase the number of vocational schools and introduce new curriculums to cater for growing demands.
"I myself am going to chair the meeting at ministry level to look at the main changes involved in the revamp of vocational, curriculum, infrastructure, facilities and training," he said.
He added that the Education Ministry would also take over the implementation of the Permata Negara programme from 2012.
The Permata programme, a model for the national childcare and early childhood education curriculum, is an effort by the government to educate children below the age of five and the system had been expanded to 457 centres nationwide, benefiting 17,565 children so far.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin said overall RM26.093 billion was allocated to the Education Ministry as a whole, to carry out 15,324 projects, including an additional 808 projects under the Economic Stimulus Package.
"Until June 15, 8,870 project have been successfully completed, 5,312 projects are in various stages of implementation and 942 will be carried forward to 10MP," he said.
Muhyiddin said as of May 31, 2010 the ministry had spent RM16.668 billion or 85.12 per cent of the overall allocation.

tunku : school based assessment system is one of the good option to replace the exam oriented system. the examination board can supply sets of questions for the schools.this will ensure the standard is met.one more thing is that the pre school should start at age 4 and primary one should start at age six.

Dr Mahathir Shrugs Off Claims Umno Tries To Attract Ulama To Compete With PAS

PUTRAJAYA, June 23 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad described as baseless the claims that Umno tries to attract ulama into the party to compete with PAS.
Dr Mahathir said ulama had been with Umno from the beginning but later formed their own party, PAS, when they were not nominated to contest for posts in the party.
Thus, in principle, he said, PAS was Umno's splinter party because it was set up by former Umno members.
"Umno has always had ulama as its members; it's only that they did not distinguish themselves as much," he told reporters after presenting prizes for the winners of the Perdana Leadership Foundation education project here Wednesday.
Dr Mahathir was asked to comment on rumours that former Perlis mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainal Abidin and a group of ulama would join Umno on Friday, giving rise to talks that Umno was trying to attract ulama into the party "to be on par with PAS".
In KANGAR, Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim said the interest shown by ulama towards Umno was a healthy development.
He said that about 40 ulama with PhD credentials, including two from Perlis, would hand over membership application to Umno president Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak on Friday.
Shahidan declined to say, however, if Dr Mohd Asri was one of them.
"Whether or not Dr Mohd Asri joins Umno on Friday, he will still be my friend," he said.

tunku : that is the difference between pas and umno.umno's ulamas are reasonable and never claim that "we are the ulamas" where else pas , even people like mat sabu claiming they are the ulamas.most of the pas leaders carried themselves as ulamas when they are not.people like nik aziz, teaching hatred among Muslims, where else in Islam we should not hate each other.as for me, it's better for dr asri to stay out of politics.i would prefer he joins pakatan than joining Umno.

Teacher trainees to get permanent posts

PUTRAJAYA (June 22, 2010): Teacher trainees, who passed teaching courses, will be appointed directly as permanent teachers and no longer as attachment teachers, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the move would be implemented from next intake as it would not only save cost and time but also offer better employment status to trained teachers.
"We no longer need to have trained attachment teachers, and if there are vacancies, placements can be made directly at any suitable school.
"What is important, we want adequate good teachers being offered permanent posts after undergoing a filtering process," he said after opening the Education Services Conference 2010 here today.
In his speech, Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said in implementing the move, sharing of information on teacher trainees' data between the Education Ministry, the Higher Education Ministry and the Education Services Commission should be streamlined.
He said this would enable the appointment trained teachers to permanent posts to be carried out efficiently, quickly and effectively.
"Currently, candidates for teaching courses are selected by the Teacher Education Division of the Education Ministry and University Centre Unit of the Higher Education Ministry.
"Those who passed teaching courses are then appointed as teachers by the commission," he said.
In the meantime, he said the government would implement five recommendations proposed by a special laboratory set up to discuss ways and means to improve the quality of teachers.
He said the recommendations are:
> launching a campaign to recruit outstanding candidates for teaching courses at the institutes of teacher education (ITE) and public institutions of higher learning;
> ensuring teachers concentrate on teaching and not clerical tasks;
> enhancing accountability through the introduction of the ITE rating system based on their level of excellence;
> recruiting quality teachers in critical areas; and
> improving teachers' career path. -- Bernama

tunku : it is a good decision by the education ministry and good news to all teacher trainees out there. hope the ministry will solve the main problem facing by the teachers that is clerical works which is a big burden to them and take most of their time.ministry should appoints more clerical staff so that the teachers can concentrate on quality teaching and give their best.

Pas failure in Kelantan.

Kelantan Needs Public Contribution To Build Mosques, Bridges

KOTA BAHARU, June 21 (Bernama) -- The PAS-led state government conceded that it has to rely on public contribution to implement development projects in the state especially in the construction of mosques and bridges.
The Chairman of the State Committee on Economic Planning, Finance and Welfare, Datuk Husam Musa said the state government would provide the allocation but the government depended on public contributions to pay part of the cost of construction for the bridges and mosques.
He said this when responding to a question from Azami Mohd Nor (PAS-Kadok) at the third term of the State Legislative Assembly sitting on Monday.
Azami wanted to know the number of projects implemented by the state government between 1990 and 2009 as well as the value of these projects. However, Husam did not explain the type of development projects implemented by the state government.
He said if he were to list down the development projects carried out by the state government, it would take more than one day as the list was too long.

tunku : we can understand if the pas government needs public contribution for building mosque but bridges is the responsibility of the state government. it is under basic amenities that should be provided by the government.husam failed to answer type of development projects implemented by the state government when asked by a fellow pas assemblyman. he should resign. i wonder why they can tolerate this type of leaders in pakatan but can't tolerate it if it was a BN leader.pakatan leaders are full of jokers, actors, cheaters etc, you name it, they have it all but the public can tolerate them. open your eyes people and see the facts.

Pudu Jail as National Heritage ?

Pudu jail to be redeveloped over 10 years

KUALA LUMPUR: The Pudu jail, which 394m wall will be demolished tonight, will be re-developed in stages over a period of 10 years beginning next year says Deputy Finance Minister Senator Datuk Awang Adek Hussein.
He said UDA (Urban Development Authority) will carry out the re-development, comprising 40% residential area and 60% commercial units, including hotels.

tunku : GOOD JOB.i can't understand why certain groups wants the government to preserve the jail and make it as national heritage.what crap,a prison which has no historical value.what good can the prison remind us off? what sort of heritage? the memoirs of the ex-prisoners? sometime we have to use our brain to oppose the government's move not talking craps just for the sake of opposing.

Abolish UPSR and PMR exams.

UPSR , PMR exams may be abolished: Muhyiddin

MUAR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examinations may be abolished.
He said this was part of government efforts to restructure the learning system that as seen as too examination oriented and failed to provide a holistic education.
"We are mulling whether to retain the examinations or abolish them leaving only the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)," he said after opening the Pagoh Umno division delegates meeting here Friday.
Muhyiddin who is also Education Minister said UPSR and PMR might be retained but only as school-based assessments and not as public examinations.
However, the ministry would not act in haste and wanted the public to give feedback to help improve the public examination system.
He felt that only one public examination was needed as only the SPM was needed when seeking employment.
As such, the UPSR and PMR could be used to pick students for residential schools or streaming.
"With only one public examination, the teachers and students can focus on improving creativity, interactive and co-curricular activities and sports,” he said.
The proposal to scrap UPSR and PMR examinations in the future appears to have supporters.
Federation of Peninsular Malay Students (GPMS) president Jais Abdul Karim said the move would strengthen the education system and produce students who are more focused.
"Our system is too exam-oriented which stresses out the students and they study blindly to pass exams, without understanding its relevance for use in the future," he told Bernama here Sunday.
Jais said should they follow through with the proposal, the government would need to formulate a new method or mechanism to measure the achievement of student.
"A lot of goodwill comes from this move and teachers will also have more time to teach students effectively," he said.
Meanwhile, National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) president, Hashim Adnan said UPSR was still relevant and should be maintained, since it helped motivate primary school students to study hard.
However, he agreed with the abolishment of PMR as the exam's sole purpose was to determine which stream students would go to in Form Four.
"The UPSR is relevant as it ranks students and encourages them to do their best so they are more prepared to face secondary school," he said.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Education Service Ex-Officers Association (PBPPPM) liaison officer Abdul Karim Abdullah said the move was appropriate to ensure teachers and students have more time to focus on co-curriculum and sports activities.
"Previously, co-curricular activities and sports took a lot of time and distracted students from focusing on their studies, so this way the students will have more time for both their studies and their extra activities," he added. - Bernama

tunku : i think it is best that UPSR and PMR be abolished.we want our student to be more creative in their thinking instead of being exam oriented all the time.our education system must change in order for our new generation be able to excel globally. the ministry can introduce a new method to measure the achievement of student for residential schools or streaming.nowadays the children are pressured by these exams till they don't enjoy their childhood the way they should.some don't even have time to play with friends especially the primary schools children.

Kedah Umno to take actions against non-performing leaders

ALOR SETAR, Saturday 19 June 2010 (Bernama) -- Umno leaders in Kedah who fail to perform or carry out their duties will be referred to the party headquarters for action since their attitude gives the opposition a foothold to attack Barisan Nasional (BN).
Kedah Umno deputy liaison chief Datuk Paduka Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said there were leaders who were selfish and failed to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication, thus tarnishing the credibility of Umno.
"I know that some leaders in the grassroots raise all sorts of issues but they themselves do not perform at their own areas or implement programmes that have been planned.
"We will report such leaders to the party headquarters so that necessary action can be taken against them," he told reporters after opening Alor Setar Umno Division's Delegates Meeting here today.
He added that such issues should not arise if they wanted to see Umno grow stronger.
"If we do not nip such issues in the bud, it will weaken Umno and give the opposition an opportunity to strengthen their position in Kedah. We do not want to see it happen," he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Bashah also urged the government to not continue with its decision to legalize football betting as it would only bring about a negative impact to families, the people and community.

tunku : kedah umno should get rid of the outdated leaders and not well accepted by the people any longer like mahadzir khalid, johari baharom etc.kedah umno needs new team or new set of leaders to charge up the party or else forget about taking over the state from pas.perhaps ahmad bashah should bring out the potential new leaders of the states and start experimenting them with the people on the ground as there's not much time left.

Zulkifli: Anwar told PKR MPs he had seen Elizabeth Wong's video

KUALA LUMPUR: Independent Kulim Bandar Bahru MP Zulkifli Noordin Thursday claimed that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had told him and other PKR MPs that he had seen a sex video that involved Bukit Lanjan state representative Elizabeth Wong.
He said the PKR adviser made the claim during a briefing at Level 14 of the Parliament building last year.
“I was at the briefing where he told us that Wong had to resign because there was a sex video of her.
“That was why after the briefing I made a statement urging the Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to fire her,” Zulkifli told a press conference at the Parliament lobby.
Bayan Baru MP Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohd Hashim who was also at the press conference said he attended the same briefing and heard the same thing from Anwar.
“He told us he had seen not only the photos (of Wong in compromising positions) but also a video,” he said.
He also challenged Anwar to take an oath on the matter at a mosque and that he would do the same.
Earlier, Anwar got into an argument with reporter when the letter kept pressing the Opposition Leader to state when he was going to show the evidence on his claims that former PKR MPs and state assemblymen had received RM2mil each when quitting the party.
The reporter repeatedly asked Anwar when he would show the evidence of his claims during the PKR adviser’s press conference at the Parliament lobby. His persistence prompted Anwar to ask him which organisation is he attached to.
When he replied that he works with RTM, Anwar told him to “ask your minister why no action had been taken on the V. K. Lingam case.”

tunku : forget about asking the moron taking oath at a mosque, he don't even dare to take oath for his sodomizing case what more watching elizabeth wong's porno.anwar is the biggest moron who likes to lie almost everything, whenever he open his stinking mouth, he lies.today he acted like a moron when he can't even answer rtm reporter's question diplomatically.this is not the first time he acted this way.whenever he is cornered and have no answers, he will attack the reporter's employer. what action can be taken on vk lingam? for lobbying? if vk lingam had bribe someone than action can be taken against him.now that you said that you have the evidence of the mps receiving 2 million, go and make police report.why you have to wait? WHAT A MORON.

watch anwar acting moron with a reporter.

Hassan Marican appointed to SembCorp Industries board

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) chieftain Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican has been appointed a non-executive director of Singapore-listed SembCorp Industries Ltd.
In a statement to the Singapore Stock Exchange yesterday, SembCorp Industries said that Hassan would come on board starting today.
SembCorp Industries, which is controlled by the Singapore government’s investment arm Temasek Holdings, has its mainstay the provision of energy and water solutions and is also active in marine and offshore engineering.
Considering his background Hassan should have little difficulty fitting right into the company.
Hassan, 57, had served as the president and CEO of national oil company Petronas for 15 years from February 1995 to February 2010. He first joined Petronas in 1989 as senior vice-president of finance.
During his tenure at the helm of Petronas, he also held chairmanship and directorship positions with several other firms and organisations under the Petronas banner, such as national carrier MISC Bhd, national automaker Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (since renamed Proton Holdings Bhd), and Petronas Dagangan Bhd.
He also had stints in Premier Oil plc, Bank Negara Malaysia, and Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority, and is currently a director for the International Centre for Leadership in Finance, and Sarawak Energy Bhd.
Other positions he holds include energy governor for the World Economic Forum (WEF) as well as a member of the WEF’s International Business Council and Council of 100 Leaders. He is also a member of the Commonwealth Business Council.
After his tenure at Petronas ended, Hassan who is a qualified accountant, was said to have been offered the position of special adviser to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on gas and energy issues. This appointment, however, never took place for reasons unknown.

tunku : a brilliant person serving other country, yet another brain drain.the government should have tied him down as his experience is vital for the country's oil and gas industry.what a waste.

PAS To Field Non-muslims As Election Candidates An interesting Development - Mukhriz

SEREMBAN, June 13 (Bernama) -- Jerlun MP Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir regards PAS' move to allow its non-Muslim supporters to contest and use its symbol in the next general election as an "interesting" development as the party has never done this before.
Mukhriz said it was interesting also because its partners, DAP and PKR, in the opposition pact would also be fielding non-Muslim candidates, especially DAP.
"The Perak DAP had established a branch comprising Malay Muslims. Now with PAS' new move, I'm waiting to see DAP's response to this," he told reporters after simultaneously opening the Umno Pantai and Pantai Setia annual general meetings at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pantai, near here, Sunday.
Mukhriz, who is also Kedah Umno treasurer, was earlier asked to comment on the decision reached at the meeting of the PAS Consultative Council, its highest decision-making body, at the recent party general assembly.
He said compared to Barisan Nasional which had collectively for decades been using the "scale" symbol, PAS, DAP and PKR had in past general elections and by-elections been using their respective symbols as they had not been registered as Pakatan Rakyat.
"So, PAS' plan to allow its non-Muslim supporters to contest and use its symbol in the next general election is just a 'sandiwara' as it does not really reflect its openness.
"I don't believe PAS, as an Islamist party, is really serious about opening its membership to non-Muslims, but is only trying to please its non-Muslim supporters with its latest move," said Mukhriz, who is also Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister.
On another matter, Mukhriz said pressure on Israel following its attack on the "Freedom Flotilla" must not only continue but intensified, while welcoming Malaysia's move to get like-minded countries to urge the United Nations to convene a special meeting in September on taking action against the Zionist regime for its brutality.
"As non-governmental organisations, we are now trying to get back the Gaza-bound humanitarian aid on board our ships which were seized by Israel," said the Perdana Global Peace Organisation advisor.
"I am worried that the Israelis might do something to the seized humanitarian supplies like food and medicines. If the goods are spoiled or contaminated, they would endanger the health of the Gazans."
On the objection of some quarters to the allowing of Israel's ships to berth at Malaysian ports, he understood the Malaysian government was looking into the matter.

tunku : pas fielding non muslims, pkr fielding non muslims and dap of course would field non muslims...later we will see 2/3 of our mps are non muslims.syabas pas, keep it up.now it is time for pas to allow non muslim to stand in the party election if they are really sincere.

PAS Admits Unable To Implement Islamic Law In Pakatan States

KOTA BAHARU, June 11 (Bernama) -- PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has admitted that the party is unable to implement Islamic law in pakatan states.
"PAS which rules Kelantan and Kedah and forms the Selangor and Penang state governments will try to implement Islamic law within the states' jurisdiction," he said when opening the party's congress here on Friday.
Hadi blamed PAS' failure to implement Islamic law on pressure and obstacles posed by the federal government.
However, he did not reveal the types of pressure and obstacles other than claiming that the federal government did not respect the spirit of federalism.
"They also showed disregard for the agreements signed by seizing the oil royalties in Kelantan dan Terengganu," he said.
Hadi's policy address themed "Islam Fair For All" was full of rhetoric claiming that Umno and Barisan Nasional had mismanaged the country.
He also claimed that the Malays did not practice the Muslim way of life and blamed Umno for introducing an Islamic concept influenced by colonialist elements.

tunku : what can a brainless leader like hadi awang can fools the people.he was the want who said that hudud law will be implemented the very next morning if pas rules trengganu but when they won, he said hudud is not the main thing.now again, he's shifting all the blames on Umno and the federal government.Islam fair for all but pas is not fair to Islam any longer.for them Islam is not the main struggle now.they are just puppet and toy for lim kit siang and anwar ibrahim.

PAS won't amend constitution to allow non-Muslim members

KOTA BARU: PAS will not amend its constitution to allow non-Muslims to become full-fledged members, but was ready to field them in elections, said party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
However, he said PAS will allow non-Muslim candidates contesting on a PAS ticket to use the party symbol in the next general election, but with conditions.
Abdul Hadi said the move was approved by its Ulama Council to enable those who joined the PAS Supporters Club (Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS), to contest in the general election.
"We will impose conditions on non-Muslims contesting under PAS. First, they must accept PAS' policy and struggle, and second, they must have high morality," he told reporters after opening PAS' 56th muktamar here Friday.
He said this was the first time the party was allowing non-Muslims to contest under its banner in efforts to bring the non-Muslims closer to the Islamic mission.
He added that to prevent non-Muslims who contested on a PAS ticket from switching parties, they were also required to make a loyalty pledge to the party.
PAS had its own mechanism to ensure its assemblymen and members of Parliament did not switch parties, he added.
He also said that the move was not intended to sideline the other component parties of the opposition alliance, including the DAP and PKR, because the two parties also had non-Muslim members and leaders.
"They understand what PAS is doing. PAS' objective is to show true fairness in Islam."
He said PAS would field non-Muslim candidates in areas with non-Muslim majority and there would be no overlapping of constituencies to be contested by the component parties. - Bernama

tunku : walk the talk pas.....pas for all.there should be no condition for certain group or else stop talking craps and just telling tales to fish for votes from non Muslims.

Najib's approval rating rises

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's approval rating is on the rise, according to a Merdeka Centre survey.
The survey showed that Najib's latest approval rating went to 72%, from 69% in April this year.
Merdeka Centre head Ibrahim Suffian said part of the electorate felt the country was heading in the right direction.
"The economy is doing reasonably well, the nation's leaders are more dynamic and the general conditions in the country remain peaceful and conducive for further development," said Ibrahim said in a statement Tuesday.
However, Ibrahim said while the public applauded efforts by the Government to address the country's issues, it was cautious on whether the goals could be achieved.
The centre conducted a telephone survey of 1,028 registered voters aged 21 and above, in peninsular Malaysia, from May 6 to 16.
Respondents were asked to give their views on the Prime Minister's performance, National Key Results Areas, the direction of the country and its economy.
The poll found 77% of Malays, 58% of Chinese and 80% of Indians expressing satisfaction over Najib's performance.
The results also showed that 53% of voters chose "fighting corruption" as the most important issue the Government should concentrate on.
The poll revealed that 61% of the respondents were dissatisfied with efforts to fight corruption while 57% were dissatisfied with efforts to combat crime.

tunku : the merdeka centre survey can't be taken for granted by Najib.it is not an actual survey nor does it reflects the true sentiment on the ground.if it is the reflection on the ground,BN will not have lost in Sibu.Najib must work harder to ensure that BN will win by two third majority in the next election.do not get carried away with surveys like this.the actual verdict will be the votes.

Gaza Aid Mission Succeeds In Exposing Israeli Atrocities - Mahathir

SEPANG, June 7 (Bernama) -- The Gaza aid mission succeeded in exposing Israeli atrocities to the world, said Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"What we had said about Israel is true, it ignores international law, it is willing to kill unarmed people, the people who are not their enemies but are simply doing humanitarian works.
"Although we are not able to send the aid to Gaza, but on one hand we succeeded in exposing to the world how bad Israel is and it willing to kill not only their enemies but also the people from an ally's country," he told reporters at the homecoming ceremony for six more Malaysian activists in the mission at KL International Airport here Monday.
Dr Mahathir said he was thankful that the volunteers arrived home safely.
A PGPO volunteer, Matthias Chang said the world should be wary of the Israeli propaganda to justify the murder of volunteers on board aid ship "Mavi Marmara".
"This is a propaganda aimed at misleading the public and the media such as Cable News Network (CNN) and Fox News exploited the differences in the commandos action against activists on board Rachel Corrie and that of Mavi Marmara. This is a blatant lie," he said.
Parit Member of Parliament Nizar Zakaria said he was saddened with the oppression of the Palestinians which he saw on the way to the prison.
Despite the horrifying experience, he said he was still keen to join any such mission in the future.
He expressed his regret for the failure to deliver the aid from Malaysia to Gaza, just 35 nautical miles off the port before it was seized by Israeli commandos.
"The people of Gaza must have waited in vain for the aid as they know we were coming," he said.
Nizar said he and other activists signed what looked like a confession written in Hebrew under duress.
Meanwhile, the families of the volunteers were a picture of relief that they were able to return home safe and sound.
Nomee Asyikin Mohd Radzi, the wife of Ahmad Faizal Azumu, one of the volunteers, said although she did not object to her husband going on the mission, she became very worried after what happened to the volunteers on the Mavi Marmara, which was attacked by Israeli naval forces on May 31 leaving nine people dead.
A doctor at the National Heart Institute here, she said she was very relieved to welcome him when he arrived at the Bunga Raya complex at the KL International Airport.
Nizar Zakaria's mother-in-law Datin Yan Hanafi said she thanked God that the volunteers' ordeal was over.
"His wife was so worried because we did not know what really had happened over there," she said.
Supiah Ahmad, the mother of TV3 cameraman Mohd Jufri Judin, said she was glued to the television set at home to keep updated on the fate of the Malaysians on the MV Rachel Corree and was very happy they all made it home unhurt.

tunku: the untouchable terrorist of the world is the israelis.let us wipe out israel from the world map.the world would be a better place without israel.GOD DAMN ISRAEL AND IT'S PROXIES.

A New Assesment On Bringing Relief To Gaza Has To Be Made, Says Dr Mahathir

KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 (Bernama) -- A new assesment on the effectiveness of shipping humanitarian relief aid to Gaza has to be made to ensure the aid reaches the people of Gaza, said former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said: "We have to make an assesment first as to the effectiveness of the method of bringing relief to Gaza. This is not just a propaganda.
"We are very worried that the cement for example is not allowed by the Israelis to be imported into Gaza. They (Palestinians) may make use of it to build military bunkers to fight against them (Israelis), but without the cement they (Palestinians) cannot build the houses," said Dr Mahathir when asked on the next move of the Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO) to bring aid to the Gazans following the hijacking of the relief vessels by Israel's navy.
He was speaking to reporters after launching the inaugural charity fund to raise funds for the development of a new Kiblah Education Complex, which will comprise a secondary school, a tahfiz centre and a linguistics centre, under the patronage of Yayasan Kebajikan Nusantara (Yakin).
Dr Mahathir is the chairman of PGPO, a non-governmental organisation involved in relief missions.
It was involved in the Gaza Aid Flotilla mission to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza this past week but the Israeli's refused to let the ships in it to go to Gaza but instead diverted them to Ashdod Port in Israel.
The Israeli's also attacked one of the ships in the convoy, causing nine deaths which sparked an international outrage and demands that Israel lift its blockade of Gaza.
The new Kiblah Education Complex will be built in Jenderam Hilir, Sepang.
When asked whether humanitarian aid can be transported by air, he said that he did not think so, and added that "it might be by land".
"If Egypt opens it border with Raffah in Gaza, they want to examine everything and every item that we take and that may cause delays, and also they may consider certain things as dangerous," he said.

Rachel Corrie Seized By Israeli Naval Forces

KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 (Bernama) -- The MV Rachel Corrie, the last of the humanitarian aid flotilla to Israeli-blockaded Gaza and with six Malaysian peace activists on board, was seized by Israeli naval forces at about 2.45pm (Malaysian time) Saturday, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman.
According to a Wisma Putra spokesperson, the vessel is being escorted to Ashdod port in Israel.
The 19 activists on board the vessel were reported unharmed, the spokeperson said.
In a statement here, Anifah said Malaysia strongly demanded that Israel ensured the safety of all the humanitarian activists on board the vessel.
"Malaysia also demands that Israel not to take any drastic and violent military action on the unarmed passengers of the Rachel Corrie," he said.
Anifah also said all the activists on board the Rachel Corrie should be given the necessary assistance to ensure their safety.
Anifah said Wisma Putra was closely monitoring the developments as there were six Malaysians on board the Rachel Corrie.
The aid mission is sponsored by the Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO), a Malaysian non-governmental organisation.
The Rachel Corrie ship is named after an American woman who was killed by an Israeli military bulldozer in the Gaza Strip in 2003, while trying to protest a house demolition.
Anifah said Malaysia also called on Israel to ensure safe passage for the vessel to Gaza to deliver the humanitarian cargo.
In this regard, Malaysia urged the international community to persuade Israel to allow the humanitarian vessel to reach Gaza safely.

MV Rachel Corrie Will Continue Mission To Gaza - Mukhriz

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 (Bernama) -- The Perdana Global Peace Organisation's (PGPO) ship, MV Rachel Corrie, will continue its journey to deliver the humanitarian aid for the Palestinians in Gaza, said its advisor Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.
Although the Mavi Marmara, one of the nine ships in the Gaza-bound humanitarian aid flotilla, was attacked by the Israeli commandos on May 31, he said he hoped the MV Rachel Corrie would be given safe passage to Gaza.
Mukhriz, who is also the Member of Parliament for Jerlun, said this in an interview on Astro's Awani television channel tonight.
Mukhriz also asked the public to give their comments and pledge support to the humanitarian mission at www.perdana4peace.org.
On May 30, three ships from the PGPO including the MV Rachel Corrie left the Port of Malta to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Peninsula.
Among those on board the Rachel Corrie are Parit Member of Parliament Mohd Nizar Zakaria, PGPO representatives Shamsul Akmar Musa Kamal, Matthias Chang and two media representatives from the TV3 television station.
The two other PGPO ships are 'Challenger 1' and 'Challenger 2'.

Aid ship Rachel Corrie, with 6 M’sians, presses on to Gaza

KUALA LUMPUR: The humanitarian aid ship Rachel Corrie, which has six Malaysians on board, is pressing ahead in rough seas to breach the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
It is now about 300 miles from Gaza and the rough seas mean that it would be about 48 hours before it could reach Gaza, according to the the NGO Global Perdana Global Peace Organisation.
Sufi Yusoff, secretary to the NGO’s chairman Tun Mahathir Mohamad, said that he spoke to journalist Shamsul Akmar, who is on board the Rachel Corrie, at about 10am Tuesday on satellite phone and was told that the rough seas made it difficult to predict when they would reach Gaza. Sufi said that the small ship had a total of 19 people on board - six Malaysians, five Irish and eight crew.
“We would like to emphasise that this is a totally humanitarian exercise. There are no terrorist elements on board. The Israelis have no reason to attack this ship,” he said.
Aside from veteran journalist Shamsul, they are lawyer Matthias Chang, Parit MP Nizar Zakaria, activist Ahmad Faizal Azumu and TV3 crew members Halim Mohamed and Jufri Junid.
Among the Irish are Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire and former UN Assistant Secretary-General Denis Halliday.
"These are hardly terrorist elements. The Israelis can have no excuse to raid the Rachel Corrie," Sufi said.
Early Monday, Israeli commados stormed the Mavi Marmara, the Turkish ship heading a flotilla of six aid ships heading for Gaza, saying that the ship carried passengers with terrorist links.
At least 10 people were killed in that raid, triggering international outrage and condemnation.
The Mavi Marmara was 65 km off Gaza in international waters. News reports say that all six ships in the flotilla are now in the Israeli port of Ashdod and the passengers and crew in custody.
The Rachel Corrie, an 1,200-ton Irish-owned cargo ship, is loaded with reconstruction, medical and educational supplies sponsored by the peoples of Malaysia, Ireland, Scotland, and Britain.
The vessel was to have been part of the flotilla but was initially delayed because of mechanical problems and only left Malta on May 30.
According to NGO Free Gaza, Israel has limited fuel to run the power station in the past three months and much of Gaza is often in darkness.
There are just enough trucks coming in to barely prevent total starvation, and Egypt, complicit with the Israeli-US policy of blockading Palestinians, is building an underground steel wall to prevent people in Gaza from bringing in vitally needed supplies through tunnels, it says.
About 1.5 million Palestinians were trapped in the ‘open-air prison’, it said.
Meanwhile, Tun Mahathir will be interviewed on Al Jazeera at 1pm.

tunku : don't be surprised if the god damn zionist commandos will say that those in rachel coorie are terrorists and carrying weapons.GOD DAMN THE ZIONIST.

Malaysia Calls On UN Security Council To Censure Israel Over Attack On Ship

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia, while strongly condemning the Israeli attack on the Gaza aid flotilla today, is also urging the United Nations Security Council to censure the Israeli regime over the attack.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia would propose the matter be deliberated on by the Security Council soonest possible.
"I, in the name of the Malaysian government and the people strongly condemn this inhumane, brutal aggression by the Israeli regime on the flotilla which is bringing humanitarian aid to the beleaguered people of Gaza," he said after launching the 4B Youth Movement Alumni, on Monday.
Najib said "the whole world should condemn the action of this cruel regime".
"I hope the incident will result in a censure on Israel," he said, adding that the attack showed that the Tel Aviv regime had no respect for international law and had indiscriminately used force without considering that their action could result in the loss of innocent lives.
The prime minister said he was awaiting details and information on the fate of Malaysians on board the ships in the flotilla.
The Mavi Marmara, one of the nine small ships in the flotilla on a humanitarian mission to Gaza, organised by a pro-Palestinian group and a human rights organisation in Turkey, was attacked by the Israeli army this morning near Gaza.
Two Malaysians -- a reporter and cameraman from Astro Awani -- were reported to be on board the Mavi Marmara and their fate is still unknown.

tunku :if UN fails to take action now then it's better that we don't have UN. UN should be fair to all not favouring those with mighty power.israel should be destroyed and we call jihad to all, DESTROY ISRAEL.

GOD DAMN ISRAEL ,AMERICA AND THE ARABS.

World in shock at deadly Gaza ship raid

GAZA, May 31 (Bernama) -- The pre-dawn Israeli naval forces attack against international aid convoy Gaza Freedom Flotilla, in which 20 activists on the board were, killed and more than 30 wounded, outraged Arab and world countries, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
Robert Serry, UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, and Filippo Grandi, commissioner-general of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), condemned in a joint statement the Israeli attack on Gaza Flotilla.
"We are shocked by reports of killings and injuries of people on board the convoy carrying supplies to Gaza, apparently in international waters. We condemn the violence and call for it to stop.
"The situation is still ongoing and we are awaiting confirmation of what has happened," said the joint statement.
Israeli and Turkish media reports said that hundreds of Israeli naval soldiers attacked the ships of the Freedom Flotilla and clashed with the activists, killing at least 20 and injuring about 30. Ten Israeli officers were also injured.
"However, we are in contact with the Israeli authorities to express our deep concern and to seek a full explanation. We are also urging them in the strongest terms to ensure that no further steps are taken that could endanger civilian lives," said the joint statement of UN officials.
The statement added that they "wish to make clear that such tragedies are entirely avoidable if Israel heeds the repeated calls of the international community to end its counterproductive and unacceptable blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip."
The Freedom Flotilla, which includes three ships and five vessels, was carrying around 700 activists, members of different Arab and European countries, as well as international solidarity movement members, and humanitarian aids, medicines and construction materials to Gaza.
Israel has imposed a tight blockade on the Gaza Strip and closed all its commercial crossings on the borders with the Gaza Strip right after Islamic Hamas movement seized control of the enclave by force in June 2007. However, Israel said humanitarian aid is allowed into the enclave.
Following the attack on the convoy, the governments of Sweden, Greece, France, Spain and Turkey summoned the Israeli ambassadors in their countries respectively for clarifications on what had happened, local and international media reports said.
Xinhua reported that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) called on the Arab League and the UN Security Council to hold emergency sessions to discuss the Israeli attack on Gaza Freedom Flotilla. A PNA statement called for investigating the Israeli attack on the aid convoy.
Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat said in a press statement it is a "brutal attack of Israeli forces against the Gaza flotilla".
The Gaza flotilla is an international effort to break the Israeli siege on Gaza, bringing tons of humanitarian aid to help the 1.5 million Palestinians besieged there."
"What we have seen this morning is a war crime. These were civilian ships carrying civilians and civilian goods -- medicines, wheelchairs, food, construction materials -- intended for the 1.5 million Palestinians holed up under a cruel and criminal siege by Israel," said Erekat.
Referring to the current status of Gaza, he said, adding that the Israeli government has been trying to deny that Gaza is under occupation.
However, the fact that Israel is preventing humanitarian aid to freely access the besieged strip clearly shows that Gaza is still occupied."
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently on a visit to Jordan, said in a statement published by the state-run Wafa news agency that what Israel has committed against the activists of the Freedom Flotilla is a massacre.
He called for a three-day mourning and flags at half-mast.
Ismail Haneya, prime minister of the deposed Hamas government, described the Israeli attack as "the biggest piracy in the world." He telephoned several leaders in the world, and expressed his government's outrage over the Israeli attack.

tunku : WAKE UP WORLD. This is not about religion, this is about the freedom of the people of Palestine.it is their very basic right.we should unite and teach israel the lesson. they are just untouchable that the bloody america just close an eye on them.if it was other country or the right way to put it is if it was a muslim country, america and its allies will bomb the country like what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.the only thing they can say is we condemn the act.that's it.so i am not wrong when i say GOD DAMN AMERICA AND ISRAEL and THE ARABS.The Arabs have no balls to fight.they should go war with israel but instead killing innocent people by blowing up themself (a stupid coward act and against Islamic teaching) .i want to salute turkish, they are far better than the arabs.
