2010 Action-mode for govt to fulfil promises

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak wants 2010 to be an action-mode year where the government implements its promises to the people."The coming year will be the execution year for us, in which we implement everything that were promised to the people.“Our NKRA (National Key Result Areas) is our akujanji to the people,” Najib said after opening Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah’s 14th congress here.
“The people will monitor how effective we are in implementing our promises. That is why the government machinery must focus on implementing the NKRAs and other development agendas set by ministries.” He was asked about his personal New Year resolutions but he gave the one he has for the country instead.
Earlier in his speech, Najib said Malaysia was the first country in the world to use the NKRAs in a comprehensive way.The six NKRAs are: reducing crime, fighting corruption, strengthening infrastructure in rural areas, improving transport in urban areas and education and raising the living standards of low-income Malaysians.
“Since I became prime minister eight months ago, I have tried to lay the foundations and direction for an agenda of change that is based on the voices of the people and their expectations.“Among the changes that we will continue to carry out are the
NKRAs.“One NKRA is on improving infrastructure in rural areas and this is not an easy task. But I am confident that with total commitment from our officers and the good cooperation shared between the state government and the Federal Government,
we can do this.“By 2012, we aim to provide electricity supply to 95 per cent of all
rural areas in Sabah and Sarawak and clean water to 90 per cent of the rural people in the two states.“We will do our best. We will work day and night because we also know that the people in rural areas are supporters of Barisan Nasional.”

tunku : well we hope that it will be 2010 action mode year in terms of economy and other important task as promised by the government.it will be the year that will show what Najib is all about.may be he needs time to set the base(2009) and 2010 is the year of action and the people want to see results. we wish Najib all the best to deliver all the promises and bring more progress to the country. in the same time we want Najib to get rid of all the rotten apple in the party and government asap as these people are like cancer to the party and the government. Allah Bless Malaysia.

Egypt is a disgrace to humanitarian act.

Viva Palestina Convoy Takes Another Route To Gaza

AQABA (Jordan), Dec 29 (Bernama) -- After almost five days stranded in this port city, the 450 members of the Viva Palestina convoy of 220 trucks and ambulances were forced to make a detour to Damascus after the Egyptian authorities refused to let them use Nuweiba as a gateway to Gaza via Rafa.
The convoy which include eight Malaysians, four from the Perdana Global Peace Organisation and four Bernama TV crew had to reach the Syrian capital before continuing their journey to the Egyptian Mediterranean port of El-Arish
The journey from Aqaba to El-Arish is expected to take about 12 hours.
Perdana Global Peace Organisation is donating almost RM500,000 of humanitarian aid and an ambulance to the Palestinians in Gaza.
Turkey's IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Deputy President Huseyin Oruc said the Egyptian government had insisted that the US$1 million medical, humanitarian and educational aid be delivered through El-Arish.
He said reverting to Syria would require the convoy to make their way around the Sinai Peninsula and through the Suez Canal.
"It is not important from which way or from which gate, the important thing is reaching Gaza. Actually reaching Gaza from Aqaba is easier for all of us.
"But it is no problem to us, anywhere and anytime we can go. If they don't allow us to go we are ready to wait for a long time and if they allow us from another port we are also ready to pass from that side.
"It is important for us to be patient, to keep our peace, we are not here to fight with people", he told Bernama
The Egyptian government's decision had been strongly criticised by members of the convoy as they felt gaining entry through El Arish port was ridiculous.
The convoy which had been stranded in Aqabah since Christmas eve had anticipated that the Egyptian government would allow them to use Nuweiba to get to Rafa, prior to reaching Gaza on December 27.
According to a member of the Turkish delegation, Siamak Alimi who had driven thousands of kilometers from London to Aqaba, traveling through the Suez Canal was not a viable option.
This was because passengers were not allowed to travel by cargo ships and that the port of El Arish was too shallow to support a ship transporting humanitarian aid.
"We have spent many hours travelling thousand of miles to get here so it is absolutely frustrating, it is absolutely disgraceful not to allow much needed medical equipments and supplies to the people of Gaza. This is something that we have been working for many months and not just me, all of us.
"People like me from Brussels have been working towards this and it is absolutely disgraceful to see the Egyptian government behaving like that", he said.
Another member of the convoy, Faruk Aktas said the Egyptian government should give a helping hand in enabling them to deliver the humanitarian air to Gaza.
"We come together in a convoy with all the passengers and aid. I don't think it is just something about humanitarian, just about the money but it is to Gaza, our brothers and sisters, we are with them, otherwise we could send them just the money", he said.
Another volunteer, Munir Ahmad said despite the problem, the convoy would proceed in any other way they could to deliver the aid.
"No matter what it takes. When last in Egypt, we were attacked with stones, bricks, batons, sticks and people stole the aid from our vehicles. We had a hard time the last time, but we won't stop we'll just keep coming, we'll keep coming InsyaAllah."
The convoy which attempts to break Israel's three and a half year blockade of Gaza by passing through Rafah to deliver the aid left London on December 6 before arriving in Aqaba, Jordan.

An Appeal To The Egyptian Government
- Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed

I have been informed that the International Humanitarian Aid convoy under Viva Palestina has yet to get approval from the Egyptian authorities to enter Gaza via the Rafa crossing. This convoy is made up of volunteers from several nations who are personally bringing ambulances and trucks bearing medical supplies, baby food and clothing for the people of Gaza. The Perdana Global Peace Organisation has purchased 4 trucks and an ambulance and has sent its team on this convoy bearing the much needed aid for the Gazans.

One year after the seige, massacre and destruction of Gaza, its people continue to face ongoing blockade of humanitarian aid by Israel. It saddens me further that this civilian convoy now faces the obstacle imposed by Egypt. The Egyptian authorities have requested that this convoy board ships and pass through the Suez canal and enter Egypt via the Mediterranean Sea. It is almost impossible for this convoy of 230 trucks and ambulances to do so, the main impediment being finance.

I implore the good government of Egypt to grant permission to this convoy to proceed to Gaza by land so that the much needed aid reaches the people in good time. Any kind of delay would affect the shelf life of much of the medication and food, as was the case in early 2009. This is a humanitarian appeal for the besieged people and children of Gaza.

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed
Chairman
Perdana Global Peace Organisatio

tunku : shame on you egypt.there should be some organizaion or body to condemn egypt's act.it is a humanitarian convoy not army.egypt is a puppet of israel and usa, they have shown that to the world.hope that OIC will condemn egypt but looking at OIC they will only say oh i see.

Egypt the Jews Proxy

PRESS RELEASE

VIVA PALESTINA MALAYSIA
APPEALS TO THE EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT TO ALLOW VIVA PALESTINA CONVOY INTO GAZA

On 28th December 2009, Viva Palestina Malaysia (formerly known as COMPLETE) handed over a letter of appeal to the Egyptian Ambassador, asking for safe, easy and quick passage of all vehicles in the Viva Palestina convoy through Egypt into Gaza.
Sunday December 27th marks the anniversary of the attack on Gaza by Israel which left over 1,400 people dead, and over 5,000 injured in 22days. At 11 3 am, the time of the first attack, a group of humanitarians, on the "Viva Palestina Convoy" embarked on an International Hunger Strike in the main in Aqaba, Jordan.
The International Hunger Strike will aim to highlight the ongoing illegal siege imposed on Gaza, and to remember the victims of the attacks who died during the 22 day bombardment by Israel.
The International Hunger Strike also highlight the refusal by Egypt, under Israeli pressure, to allow the humanitarian aid to reach the 1.3 million civilian people in Gaza who continue to be subjected to collective, sustained, and devastating punishment.
The convoy has been stranded in the city for 3 days now, having been refused permission to enter Egypt on their way to Gaza. There are 500 people from no less than 20 different countries in 250 vehicles loaded with charitable humanitarian aid. The convoy is being led by leading international politician George Galloway, left London on December 6th.
Each day, 15 more people from the convoy will join in the International Hunger Strike, and they will go without food until the convoy is allowed to enter safely into Egypt and through the Rafah border to Gaza.
For Egypt to prevent this compassionate and charitable aid, donated by ordinary caring people from all over the world, unnecessarily adds to the hardships currently endured on a daily basis, by the besieged and distressed people in Gaza.
The volunteers in the Viva Palestina Convoy are hopeful that the leaders of the West will exert their influence, put pressure on Egypt, the United States, and Israel to end this inhuman blockade forced upon Gaza, and allow for the safe passage of this essential humanitarian aid. Enough is enough, this has to end now, for the sake of humanity.

Letter to H.E Hani Abdel Kader Ahmed Shash, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

CONVOY OF HOPE FROM LONDON TO GAZA

Viva Palestina Malaysia (formerly COMPLETE) has been following the progress of the above-mentioned convoy bringing aid to the Gaza strip. Consisting of the over 200 vehicles carrying many thousands of pounds worth of medical aid, food and clothing, this convoy has been organized by Viva Palestina and Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Viva Palestina Malaysia is a stakeholder in this mercy mission as we contributed GBP 43000 for the purchase of four ambulances filled with medical supplies. In addition, Perdana Global Peace Organisation, led by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad contributed five vehicles. It is hoped that our small contribution goes some way towards alleviating the burden of the Palestinians who continue to suffer under the brutal regime of Israel while most of the world watches silently.

We have been made aware that the convoy is currently waiting at the port of Aqaba for permission to cross the Red Sea, carrying with them desperately needed aid. The volunteers on the convoy have travelled a great distance and under challenging circumstances. They carry with them the hopes of the people of Gaza and their supporters around the world.

As an immediate neighbour with a common border with the Gaza Strip, Egypt has the advantage or ensuring smooth passage and is in prime position liberate the people of Gaza from their misery. The Prime Minister of Turkey, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for everyone to do their share to make sure this convoy reaches Gaza and its people. The Egyptian government would do well to heed this further in the eyes of the public opinion.

Viva Palestina Malaysia appeals to the Egyptian government to allow the last leg of this arduous journey to be made easy for the convoy and more importantly, the government are confident that the Egyptian government will rise to aid of the people of Gaza.

We look forward to a speedy and just solution.

Thank you.

Dato' Adnan Mohd Tahir
Chairman
Viva Palestina Malaysia

tunku : we don't understand why egypt is stopping the aid going into gaza? looks like they are the proxy of israel and usa. they convoys are not sending weapons to the palestinian,it is food, medicine, ambulance etc. the egyptian government should allow all these aid to past through their border into gaza.don't be so cruel and selfish like the jews.we hope the NGOs in egypt will pressure their government to allow the convoy to pass thru.

Penang got just 3% of what it had contributed:Lee Kuan Yew frustrated

GEORGE TOWN: Penang has only received RM794mil in federal grants in the last eight years even though it had contributed RM25,670mil in taxes and custom duties.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the numbers were revealed by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in a written reply in the recently concluded Parliamentary sitting.
“Penang received only a shocking 3% of what it had contributed from 2001 to 2008.
“The state has been left out of the development mainstream too long and that has resulted in a slower rate in the building of public infrastructure compared to other states,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
He added that even Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew had made the observation that Penang was developing slower compared to other towns like Ipoh or Seremban.
“The Penang government will seek a fair deal from the Federal Government to allow all Penangites equal opportunity for success and prosperity regardless of race or background.
“Our efforts in ensuring that everyone has a share in the fruits of economic success has led Penang to become the first state to wipe out hardcore poverty with every family receiving at least RM500 a month,” he said.
He also wished all Penangites a Merry Christmas.

tunku : he expect federal government to give it back all the taxes to the state? what a dumb cm he is? may be he expect everything to go back to penang as he can "sweep" all.did he calculate in all the federal government projects in penang? why should he quote what lee kuan yew had to say?? ooo they are from same party before.lee kuan yew is dap's mentor.now lee kuan yew is ruling penang through his proxy.he is making sure that his proxy is trying their best to make penang as the second singapore not economically but trying to get penang out from Malaysia like what they did with singapore in the sixties.the penangites should not be fooled by them.

Ean Yong hits out at police....boss under investigation.

PETALING JAYA: Political aide Teoh Beng Hock’s former boss has hit out at the police for initiating a sedition investigation against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for suggesting that Teoh was murdered.
Calling for the police to stop its investigation on Lim immediately, Ean Yong Hian Wah, the Seri Kembangan assemblyman, described the move as being politically motivated to prevent the truth about Teoh’s death from coming out in the open.
Since the Home Ministry played a role in the matter, he suggested that minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein provide an explanation to the rakyat on the investigation.
Ean Yong said what the rakyat saw was the government trying to hide something including delaying the investigation process for the death inquest, and refusing the setting up of a royal commission to conduct an independent and fair investigation into Teoh’s death.
The Selangor state exco said Malaysians did not believe that Teoh’s death was a suicide, adding that the government could not influence the people’s perception.

tunku : when it come to others it's politically motivated, but when it comes to them it's democracy.democracy my foot.the whole thing is politically motivated.the death is just a simple suicidal death but because of politics(the way they want it) the labelling it murder.why ean yong wants to hit out at the police, the police is doing their work base on laws and regulations.they did not throw guan eng behind the bar yet without investigating.the police has the right to investigate guan eng under sedition as the case is in the hand of the court and guan eng is giving his verdict like the law of the country belongs to his father.by right guan eng is held under ISA but the government is too "SOFT" with the opposition at the moment.

Petronas and Mercedes partnership.

Petronas has announced that it will be the title sponsor of Mercedes GP! This comes as a surprise after it was widely reported that the national oil company will be ending its involvement in F1 as a team sponsor. The choice of Mercedes GP is also unexpected – after all Malaysia has its “own” team in Lotus F1.
The five-year agreement with Mercedes comes after Petronas’ deal with BMW Sauber ended in the just concluded 2009 season. Under this new deal, Petronas will be the title partner to the Silver Arrows works team, which will be officially known as the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team.
The official media statement explains that “this partnership allows related business arrangements with Mercedes that will support Petronas’ international business expansion efforts, particularly in its global lubricant business. The exclusive rights of a title partner and association with the premium, internationally-renowned Mercedes brand will further enhance Petronas and Malaysia’s ongoing global brand positioning efforts. Petronas will also be able to continue to leverage on the extensive international exposure offered by the sport to grow its existing business activities.”
This tie-up also presents Petronas with the opportunity to utilise and leverage on Mercedes’ long motor sport heritage to further supplement its talent development initiatives as part of its contribution towards the development of Malaysia’s motorsports industry, it said.
Petronas will continue to be the title sponsor of the Malaysian Grand Prix, as reported earlier.
Quotes from Norbert Haug, Vice-President of Mercedes-Benz Motorsports and Ross Brawn, Team Principal are after the jump.
UPDATE: The Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team’s race car will make its track debut in its new livery at Valencia on 1 February to start pre-season testing ahead of the 2010 season.

Norbert Haug, Vice-President of Mercedes-Benz Motorsports
“We are very pleased to begin our long-term partnership with our new title partner PETRONAS. Daimler, our premium brand Mercedes-Benz and PETRONAS will work together both on and off the track and I am sure that everybody involved will guarantee their absolute dedication to success. PETRONAS’ home base in Kuala Lumpur is located in the middle of a fast-growing region for the automotive industry which makes this new partnership even more valuable. Within the limits of the new Formula One resource restrictions, the Mercedes GP PETRONAS Formula One Team will be well positioned to achieve our goals. We will all strive to present efficient success in the future knowing at the same time that the new Formula One season with some fundamental rule changes will be a particularly challenging one.”

Ross Brawn, Team Principal of the Mercedes GP PETRONAS Formula One Team
“Everyone at Mercedes GP is delighted to confirm our long-term agreement with PETRONAS and we look forward to working closely with our new partner in the future. The collaboration of the premium automotive brand Mercedes-Benz and a company as prestigious as PETRONAS gives our team a fantastic base from which to achieve our ambitions of competing at the top level of Formula One and building on the success of 2009 which saw the team achieve the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships. Our plans for the new season are progressing well, as is the development of our 2010 challenger, and we look forward to seeing the car run in the new Silver Arrows and PETRONAS livery at the Valencia test in February.”

tunku : we hope some people won't make this as an issue on why petronas did not sponsor Malaysian FI Lotus team.this is a business decision which will give petronas more money and more money for petronas means more money for Malaysian.it would be able to generate sustainable business growth particularly in lubricants market. we should not forget that mercedes is a superb global brand, and petronas is working with them.knowledge and technology involved here.so we hope some people stop questioning the decision made by petronas and be proud of the partnership.

Malaysia IS Zimbabwe, says Zaid

PKR politician Zaid Ibrahim has applauded constitutional law expert Abdul Aziz Bari for speaking out "about the rotten state of the rule of law and democracy" in Malaysia.
In a reply by text-message, he described Abdul Aziz as "a well respected academic and a courageous one".
Zaid, a former Umno strongman who crossed to PKR, expressed hope that many will come forward and be unafraid to speak out for the sake of the country.
"Nothing will change unless those who know rise up to expose the vermin (that are) eating and destroying our national institutions and democratic values," said Zaid (right), once the de facto law minister.

tunku : this country which zaid and aziz bari said is like zimbabwe gave them the best education and position they can have. this country which zaid ibrahim said like zimbabwe made him a billionaire. i wish these type of people are thrown in the deep sea.people like them are the vermin (that are) eating and destroying our national institutions and democratic values just to be popular.

FORM ROYAL PROBE ON DR M'S SQUANDERING
By Dr. Mahathir Mohamad

1. I welcome Lim Kit Siang's proposal for Najib to set up a royal commission on whether I burned RM100 billion on grandiose projects and corruption during my 22-year reign.
2. Such a commission should not be made up of Government nominees but should have as members impeccable people including foreigners and members of Transparency International.
3. The commission should not confine to one Prime Minister only but to Tun Abdullah Badawi's regime.
4. It should include how RM270 billion of Petronas money paid during Abdullah's five-year term was spent; what projects were financed by this huge fund and the cost of all these projects.
5. It should include how much money was lost due to the cancellation of the crooked bridge and the Johore Baru to Padang Besar railway.
6. What is the cost over-run in the construction of the Bakun Hydroelectric project.
7. The financing of the second Penang Bridge and the procedure followed when giving out this contract.
8. I also agree with Lim Kit Siang that the investigation would reflect Najib's commitment to "combating corruption".
9. In order that the enquiry by the commission would be successful, Government must give the undertaking to give full access to the commission of all the documents and accounts of the Government over the period 1981-2009. There should be no cover-up of any kind.
10. Barry Wain must provide documentary proof of any sum that he alleged I had burned.
11. I will co-operate fully with the commission.
12. Depending upon the result of the commission, I reserve the right to sue Barry Wain, Lim Kit Siang and Malaysiakini.com for libel for a sum to be disclosed later.
13. If the Government is witholding the book: "Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times", I would request that the book be released forthwith. I am not in need of Government protection.

tunku : they think they can get Tun Dr Mahathir down easily.now both the government and the opposition should bring everything they have against Tun Dr Mahathir.set up the royal commission asap.i am sure that Najib would not do so but we request him to assist in the setting up of the royal commission.Tun is waiting eagerly and wants no cover up or protection at all.only liars are afraid of the truth.bring them on.....

Pakatan registration will take time: Anwar

SHAH ALAM: PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said it would take some time before the Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition is officially registered.
However, he said coalition members had already collectively formulated and decided on the party’s stand.
“It will take some time to register,” said Anwar when asked about a front-page report in a Chinese daily quoting PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang as saying that he was not in favour of Pakatan Rakyat being officially registered as a coalition.
Not saying much about Hadi’s purported statement, Anwar said the necessary documents required to officially register the coalition have been submitted to the Registrar of Societies.
Anwar, who spoke to reporters after receiving the International Association of Political Consultants (IAPC) 2008 Democracy Award, said that it would take some time before the pro-tem coalition’s registration goes through.

tunku : this show that pakatan is just a marriage of convenience.pas has no confidence in pakatan though they act like a united force, that is why hadi is not in favour of the pakatan being officially registered.even anwar has no confidence otherwise he had made the three parties to speed up the registration of pakatan.all they know is to be in power without clear vision.they had failed to fulfill most of their election promises and has yet to impress the people in the state they rules.they talk more than they do work.
by the way what democracy award the melodrama queen received? he's never a democratic person himself.no one can say anything to him, he sues everyone.in his party, anyone voice out will be sidelined.

Tighter Control Systems For Armed Forces

KLANG, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- The inventory systems for the three branches of the Malaysian Armed Forces must always be monitored and updated according to current needs to prevent a recurrence of the loss of the F-5E interceptor aircraft engine.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the systems used by the armed forces had been completely revamped since the disappearance of the engine was realised, and the monitoring aspects with regard to the procedures, inventory and control of the movement of every asset had been tightened.
"The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) particularly must review and improve the asset inventory control system to regain public confidence in the system adopted besides ensuring that a breach will not recur," he told reporters after visiting the NGV Tech shipyard at Kampung Sinjangkang, Teluk Panglima Garang, here Sunday.
He said the disappearance of the engine in 2007 was a complicated and difficult case as it involved an international syndicate which had used RMAF officers and personnel to achieve its objective.
Ahmad Zahid said the ministry was continuing its investigation and thus he could not give detailed information on the case as it involved legal aspects.
"We hope legal action can be speeded up. So far, it is learned that police investigation has been completed and they are waiting for instruction from the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action," the minister said.
He said action had been taken against several senior officers as well as junior personnel but he declined to disclose the type of action taken.
Ahmad Zahid said there was a strong demand for components and spare parts for the first generation supersonic fighter aircraft especially among countries which were still using the aircraft.
"The engine is an old asset where the engine manufacturer no longer produces it although there are still some countries using the aircraft. Thus there is still a market for the engine," he said.
Jet engine sold to South America Firm

tunku : this is indeed a disaster condition of our armed forces when the international syndicate can easily uses our army personnel for their interest. a thorough investigation needed fast.though the minister had said that the incident will not recur, there are still many aspects and chances for other incident which can appear in the armed forces. we want to know who is behind it asap and these people should be charged as the nation traitor, not just stealing.a disciplinary action alone is not enough for these traitors.

CGG Wants PR To Implement The Local Council Elections

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The Coalition for Good Governance (CGG) wants the opposition coalition or 'Pakatan Rakyat' (PR) to fulfill their commitments to the people made at various platforms prior to and during the 2008 General Election.
The CGG, that is based in Petaling Jaya, is a coalition of civil society organisations which aims to promote and defend principles based on universal human rights, democratic governance, non-discrimination, equality, and people's participation.
The Chairperson of CGG, Maria Chin Abdullah, said the Pakatan Rakyat needed to fulfill their promises to reinstate local elections for municipal and local councils.
"In PR's manifesto in the 2008 General Elections promised in item nine of its vision for a constitutional state, (that they would) reinstate with immediate effect local elections for municipal and local councils to create greater accountability at every level of its government," she said in a statement here Wednesday.
The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH), whose membership includes all the three PR component parties, also promised the need to re-introduce elections for local authorities in order for Malaysians to participate actively, she said.

tunku : in kelantan pas had failed to implement hudud which they promised after almost 20 years of ruling the state.so i guess the promise on having local council election will take the pr at least another 20 years to fulfill.the promises were made without any thoughts, just to fish for votes.lim guan eng said within a year of their ruling there would be no more hardcore poverty but look at penang, there are lots of hardcore poverty and lots of people are without jobs now.don't trust them anymore.

Budget’s slim approval should be a lesson: Pandikar

KUALA LUMPUR: The Supply Bill 2010 which scraped through with a majority of three votes at 11.20pm on Monday should serve as a lesson to both Barisan Nasional and the Opposition Members of Parliament, said Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
He said Barisan MPs should not take it for granted that all Bills would be passed without problem even if they skipped attendance in the House.
Pandikar also questioned the move by Opposition MPs in attempting to defeat the Budget.
“We have almost come to the end of the Budget debate. What is your motive for doing that? What can you achieve with that? Do you want a fresh election?” said Pandikar Amin.
While the national budget has always been passed without any glitch since Independence, Budget 2010 was passed with only three majority votes on Monday, posing the risk that allocations and expenditures prepared by the Government for next year could have been stalled if the Opposition had got its way, he said.
In western countries, Pandikar Amin said such an event could have meant a fresh election as failure to approve the national budget was tantamount to a vote of no-confidence in the government of the day.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abd Aziz, who is also deputy whip, cautioned backbenchers to not “push their luck.”
The House is made up of 140 Barisan MPs and 82 Opposition MPs.
However, the bloc division requested to pass the Budget saw only a result of 66 for versus 63 against.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who was attending the Chung Hwa Independence School anniversary dinner at Jalan Ipoh, rushed back to Parliament when Nazri sent out a “distress call” at 8pm.
The presence of a large number of Opposition MPs, including PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur), Tan Kok Wai (DAP-Cheras) and PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang (PAS-Marang) late at night had alerted Nazri that something was up.
Anwar declined to answer when asked if it had been a pre-planned move by the Pakatan Rakyat to defeat the Budget.
“It will force them (the Government) to respect the Dewan and put them on the guard at all times,” he said.
PKR strategic director Tian Chua (PKR-Batu) however said it had been a “planned mission.”

tunku : definitely it was a planned mission by anwar but it was a good thing as now the BN mps won't take things for granted especially those who did not attend the sitting without reason.bn should make sure that every time there is a sitting, there should be at least 82 of its members sits in the parliament.lesson well learned.many don't know that such an event could have meant a fresh election as failure to approve the national budget was tantamount to a vote of no-confidence in the government of the day.my suggestion is that the parliament should follow office hours only(like macc interrogation's timing).mp's are human too and have many other responsibilities or urgent matter to attend to.so only office hours for them in the parliament.

Dr M blasts OIC for failing to unite Muslims

KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has lambasted the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) which he said had failed to unite Muslims.
“It often serves to emphasise divisions within the Muslim world. The disagreements between member countries are so obvious as to expose their disunity,” he claimed on Tuesday.
Dr Mahathir, who was the prime minister when Malaysia chaired the OIC in 2003, said the problem was that it was an organisation of governments of countries whose interests took precedence over the religion.
“As an organisation of governments, the OIC is unable to consider anything purely on the basis of religious injunctions or the interest of religion.
“Even the injunction of Islam that all Muslims are brothers could not override certain other national priorities,” he said in his keynote address at the Second International Muslim’s Unity conference.
The OIC, he added, worked on a basis of consensus which was not conducive to organisational decision making.
He suggested setting up a chain of Muslim non-governmental organisations in Muslim communities and countries to restore the brotherhood and unity of Muslims regardless of sects or differences.
Using such NGOs as the vehicle for Muslim unity, he said, should be focused on the promotion of Muslim brotherhood, reducing misunderstandings or suspicions, acquiring knowledge and skills, and pushing for better education systems, among others. Muslim NGOs, he added, must also launch a concerted campaign to stop the “revenge mentality” which leads to blind retaliation. “Muslims are very angry. And in anger, they lash out at everyone, including other Muslims. They blow themselves up in revenge, killing at random, not so much their enemies as they do their own people. “After they have lost their lives, what have they gained? Basically nothing that will stop their enemies from continuing to oppress and kill them,” he said.
Muslims, Dr Mahathir said, must work out plans and strategies with the objective of achieving success in their struggles. “One should be prepared to accept partial unity if total unity cannot be achieved as much can still be done,” he said.
“Today, Muslims are deeply divided into many different sects which often are violently pitted against each other. “Lethal suicide bombers of different sects direct their attacks against each other, killing hundreds of Muslims each time. They may believe they will become martyrs and go to heaven but can we really believe they will when they go against the injunctions of the Quran that Muslims must not kill Muslims? “True practising Muslims must stop the fighting, reduce the divisions and restore brotherhood and unity,” he said.

tunku: wonder why they can't unite.....but then again if you see in Malaysia, people like nik aziz etc, then you know why Muslim can't unite.these people put themselves above all and think they are the only people who knows everything. when Umno give hands of unity to pas, nik aziz says it's HARAM.so how?

Foreign budget hotels may sink locals

JOHOR BARU: The Government’s decision to allow foreign budget hotels to operate in the country by 2011 may result in many local ones closing down, said Malaysian Budget Hotel Association president Datuk Dr Muhammad Nasir Hamzah.
He said that although many local budget hotels have been enjoying increased occupancy rates, many would not survive if they do not upgrade their services.
During economic recessions, budget hotels often become popular with tourists but owners should not be complacent and must improve with the times, he said.
He said that if local budget hotels did not buck up, many would not be able to compete with the quality of service offered by their foreign competitors.
“This is the same situation that we saw with small-time supermarkets closing down after the introduction of foreign hypermarkets.
“The same situation could occur with the introduction of foreign budget hotels in the country,” he said at a seminar here for budget hotel owners in the state.
Muhammad Nasir said that currently, there were over 6,000 budget hotels nationwide with over 120,000 employees.
“We have already started conducting various courses and seminars to ensure that budget hotel owners realise the situation they are in.
“About 30% have already started to improve their services and facilities, but there are also many who are still smug about their current situation,” he said.
He said that in order to survive, local budget hotel owners needed to be more innovative and work together to ensure their longevity.
Johor Tourism Action Council general manager Abdul Jabar Md Tahir, who officiated at the seminar, said that budget hotel owners should focus on services instead of profit.
“We have already started to look at more ways to encourage tourists to stay in the state and budget hotel owners can help by providing good services,” he said.
He also encouraged budget hotel owners to collaborate and work together to reduce costs while enhancing their services.

tunku : we know that the government is trying hard to bring investors in and trying to be more liberal than before but sometimes don't make these liberalisation brings harm to locals. for budget hotels let it be only for Malaysian. foreign players can always build 4/5/6 stars hotel as many as they wish. in the meantime the service provided by the local players too must be good as it reflects the country's image.

Don't Let Us Be Re-Colonised, Says Mahathir

SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysians have an extremely important role of mastering English to acquire knowledge at a faster pace to ensure there is no 're-colonisation' of the country, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Without a good command of English, the former prime minister noted, the people would not acquire knowledge quickly.
He said this would, in turn, open doors to those knowledgeable to dominate and influence them, either directly or indirectly.
"English is the language of the Knowledge Age. Countries which do not master English will not only be left behind but risk being colonised, either directly or indirectly.
"Without knowledge, countries will be oppressed and even invaded," Dr Mahathir told reporters after delivering his keynote address entitled, 'The Leadership and Policy Components for the Knowledge Society: A Proposed Best Practice for Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries at the 17th Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS) conference.
The conference was opened by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at a hotel near here.
The four-day conference which began on Monday, is jointly organised by IAS, Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel) and International Islamic Academy of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
Dr Mahathir said that only by mastering English, could the people in this country acquire knowledge at a faster pace so as not to be left behind by development.
He said, the people would not lose their identity by seeking knowledge in English.
"English is not only for English people but (it is) a universal language. I am not an Englishman but I speak English," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Mahathir said the current leadership was "ignoring success" by abolishing the teaching of Science and Mathematics in English (PPSMI) and reverting to Bahasa Malaysia.
"I don't think the government understands the importance of English as a language of knowledge when they decided to switch from English to Malay (in teaching Science and Mathematics)," he said.
Recently, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government had decided to reverse the PPSMI policy and revert to Bahasa Malaysia in national schools, and Chinese and Tamil in vernacular schools from 2012.
The PPSMI policy was implemented in phases, beginning with Year One, Form One and Lower Six students in 2003, under Dr Mahathir's administration.
Earlier, when delivering his keynote address, Dr Mahathir said knowledge was expanding rapidly, especially in science, and books and writings on this subject were in English.
He said that possibilities were there to override past beliefs in the field of science, which could not be done in geography and history.
"Knowledge in science is not static, unlike geography and history where facts are structured and limited.
"In science, we can always go back and question the scientific principles and decide whether they are right or not," he said, adding new discoveries were coming out in torrents in English.

tunku : it is sad that the government don't understand this when they scrapped away the PPSMI.so disappointed at muhyiddin.majority out there wants PPSMI, only fools are against it.

BTN Course The Pillar Of The Nation's Success

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The Biro Tatanegara (BTN) course has helped to maintain peace among people of various races and religions for 35 years, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Ahmad Maslan said on Monday.
He said Malaysia would have been destroyed long ago if the BTN course was racist as claimed by the opposition.
"Millions of people had attended the BTN course since 1974. Malaysia would have been destroyed if not for the BTN course. It made the nation good and successful.
"The BTN course modules apply to all groups and aimed at nurturing pure values and the spirit of unity," he said after presenting a paper titled "Gagasan 1Malaysia" at the 1Malaysia Seminar for the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) staff here.
He said BTN not only organise courses but also other programmes to nurture the spirit of patriotism.
"Those who say that BTN course is racist are afraid of their own shadows," he added.
Ahmad said it was not wrong for BTN to deliver government policies to participants and it was up to them to accept them or not.
He said this when asked whether political elements were included in the BTN course.
"If states ruled by the opposition want to have their own course, they can do so but don't say that BTN is not good.
"I am sure that the Selangor government will deliver its policies during its course," the deputy minister added.

tunku : some idiots don't have anything better to do so they uses petty issue to divert the attention of their weaknesses and some are caught with it and start talking nonsense.ahmad maslan said those who say that BTN course is racist are afraid of their own shadows, one of them is the bloody nazri aziz.the scumbag thinks he knows everything but actually it's all empty.by the way see what anwar the moron who think he is not racist has to say about "pendatang" at btn here.judge yourself of the melodrama queen racist remark.

Sultan Of Selangor frustrated with state government.

Sultan Of Selangor Expresses Worries Over Overdose Of Politics

KLANG, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has expressed worries over the situation in the state as the political agenda had gained the upper hand rather than the development agenda.
He said sometime petty matters were blown out of proportion, thus causing confusion among the people.
"State leaders should not only talk but implement programmes for the benefit of the people.
"I believe the people are now questioning about development and their well-being than being engrossed with politics.
"As such, the Selangor state government is responsible in laying the foundation for harmony," he said at an investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 64th birthday celebration at Istana Alam Shah here on Saturday.
The Sultan urged Selangor Menteri Besar and state executive councillors to carry out their duties with dedication, and trust and cooperate with civil servants.
"The time of finding faults and weaknesses have ended and now is the time to implement plans and election promises and solve the problems faced by the people for the sake of progress and prosperity of the state," he added.
Sultan Sharafuddin hoped that ideological differences should not be an excuse for the people not to respect one another and strive for unity.
"I would like to advise the people of Selangor that if they are not happy, they should voice their opinions and grievances through proper channels and abide by the law," he added.
Urging the police to carry out their duty with resolve and commitment, he said the people should not be scared to move about and worried about their safety.
Sultan Sharafuddin also advised Selangor royal families to protect the good name of the royal house and refrain from doing anything that would bring disrepute to their positions.
"The reputation and good name must be guarded from negative activities as it is a valuable asset to the individuals concerned and Istana Selangor," he added.

tunku : it is so shameful for khalid ibrahim to listen to Tuanku Sultan speech.it is very clear that Tuanku Sultan is very much disappointed with the state government.the state government only talk and talk without any development and action.they can't fulfill their promises made during the last GE,they keep looking for the past government faults since taking over the administration of the state.Tuanku Sultan said it indirectly, the rakyat should change the government comes next election. by right, khalid should resign asap,it's an embarrestment for a MB to listen such speech from Tuanku Sultan.

ONLY 25 Pkr Youth hold demo over Anwar’s sodomy case

BUTTERWORTH: About 25 PKR Youth members and supporters staged a peaceful demonstration outside the Seberang Jaya mosque near here on grounds that the sodomy court case of their leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim must be heard simultaneously at the Syariah Court and the civil court.
PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said this demonstration was in response to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz recent statement in Parliament that the trial of the sodomy case in the Syariah Court was postponed.
Shamsul Iskandar claimed that similar demonstrations were also carried out after Friday prayers nationwide and it would continue until Anwar’s civil trial proceeding begins on Jan 25, next year.
‘‘We have printed two million notices which will be distributed to the public after the (series) of demonstrations on why the civil trial is regarded a mockery,’’ he told reporters at the scene here.
‘‘We believe that the statement made by Nazri is undermining the sovereignty of the Syariah Court where the court now seems to be subservient to the civil courts,” he said.
He said the Syariah Court and the civil court cases should run parallel.
‘‘It is ridiculous of the Government to want to delay the Syariah Court hearing while the civil court is asked to expedite its case.’’
He said the Umno led Barisan Nasional should focus on the economy rather than punishing political opponents.

tunku : i think there must be some typo error with the news.it should be at least 2500 if not 25000 people hold demo for anwar the moron.only 25......it's hard to believe moreover it is in the his state but why not because those 25 fools still in the cloud, others they know that anwar is a sodomizer.the pkr youth chief moron said that the BN should focus on the economy rather than punishing political opponents, we hope they do the same in the states they are ruling as they are not focusing on anything except of punishing the political opponents.walk the talk morons.

Khairy rubbishes deputy minister's offer reports,is that so?

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin, who has been speculated to receive an offer for a deputy minister's post in a possible minor Cabinet reshuffle, has dismissed all such reports.
The Rembau MP said such reports were merely rumours but declined to comment further.
Khairy, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, has come under fire from various bloggers over the possibility of being given the post after Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman decided to take down from his post as deputy Tourism Minister.

tunku : of is that so kj, only rumours?? then why the meeting with all the ketua pemuda in janda baik(only 1/3 came)? after the meeting how come pemuda kelantan gave their full support and demand that you be made a minister or deputy? why zahid said at that seminar that if he becomes the pm at 12.00pm, you will be made a minister at 12.01pm? any answer for that? i am sure all the paid bloggers by kj will not have been jumping up and down for their boss if he had no intention of being a minister.you can only be good actor kj especially acting as a cabbie, suits you well.

Labelling Tun Mahathir As Racist Is Being Extreme, Says Muhyiddin

TOKYO, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that it is rather extreme to label former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a racist.
He said Dr Mahathir had contributed significantly to the country and was still capable of giving ideas.
"So, to label him as a racist is rather extreme. He (Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz) is my friend too but I don't know how it (labelling Dr Mahathir) could have come about. Under the country's political situation today, many people can misinterpret," he told Malaysian journalists here.
Muhyiddin, who is currently on a special trade and investment mission to Japan, was commenting on the statement by Mohamed Nazri Monday labelling Dr Mahathir as a racist for defending the National Civics Bureau's curriculum module.
Dr Mahathir had earlier felt that the government should not be trapped by the opposition's political game to the extent of revamping the curriculum module which had been adopted by the bureau in the country effectively all this while.
Muhyiddin said everyone, especially the leaders, should not be trapped by the opposition's strategy to the extent of quarrelling among themselves.
He said it would be better if everyone would adopt the 'talk less' approach.
"Ideally, we should not be seen as debating openly. I feel there is no need to debate or enter into polemics on government agencies such as the BTN (National Civics Bureau)," he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that since capturing several states in the last general election, the opposition coalition had a strategy to discredit all government institutions including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Royal Malaysia Police, the Royal institution, or even the National Civics Bureau so that the people would have a negative perception of the government and the leaders.
"This is their strategy. All this while we had never debated on such matters. The BTN is for the good of the country and not meant to bring any adverse effects on the nation," he added.

tunku : the dpm has spoken now we awaits the pm to comment on bloody nazri's remark on Tun Mahathir.muhyiddin is right, when there are so many issues involving the opposition, they try to divert the issues to something else which is not an issue but morons like nazri trapped in it.Najib should give stern warning to it's minister who act like a moron.they tends to forget what went wrong in the last general election.with the next GE coming, if things like this are not resolved, then danger awaits them.

Bloody Nazri (barks)saying Tun Mahathir's statement is the stupidest

When prodded for a response at a function this afternoon, Mahathir, who is still an Umno member, said : "I must be a racist if Nazri says I am racist. Don't ever say that I am not. He knows everything. He belongs to a party which is racist... which is Umno."
"Umno is a party perkauman and is meant only for Malays and nobody (else) can join. So he (Nazri) is in a racist party but says he is against racism. So he should resign from the party," he added.
Despite an ongoing furore that the BTN training modules promoted a racist agenda, Mahathir had said on Sunday that the bureau's curriculum had helped foster unity as the courses were attended by Malaysians of all races.

In an immediate reaction, Nazri was far from apologetic for having trampled on the octogenarian's toes.
"That is the most stupidest statement that I have heard in my life," he told reporters in Parliament. "It only confirms what I said was right."
Stressing that Barisan Nasional constituted the bigger picture, Nazri said he had no role in setting the agenda for Umno during its formation.
The minister said that he joined the ruling party because he wanted to serve the government and the people.
"When you want to talk about forming the party, he (Mahathir) was involved in forming the party. That is not my problem, that's his problem. I only joined the system as it is," he added.
Continuing the tirade, the minister said: "If Umno is a racist party, he was president of a racist party, so he is a racistlah. The argument does not make him less of a racist."

tunku : what a stupid answer from nazri . he should resign from Umno asap if he knows that the system is racist and he said he is against racism.what a bloody stupid thing to say that he was not involved in forming the party and he just joined the system.where is your stand now?if you know the party is not right, why you want to join it? get lost from Umno and go to pakatan rakyat.they will welcome you there bloody nazri.you have became the donkey of pakatan by creating tense in Umno.

Nazri Aziz Barks At Tun Mahathir

Nazri slams Dr M over BTN course revamp

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has described Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a racist for saying that there was no need to revamp the current National Civics Bureau (BTN) training modules.
“There are many instances of those who have come away from the course being angry as they felt words like ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ are ridiculous,” said Nazri, who stood firm with the Cabinet’s decision to overhaul the programme.
“I agree with Dr Mahathir’s sentiments about patriotism but not just for the Malays. When he was Prime Minister, he called for everyone to think as Malaysians. Now, that he is no longer Prime Minister, he’s asking for everyone to think otherwise,” he said at the Parliament lobby on Monday.
Nazri said he disagreed with any syllabus that concentrated on one community only.
“If the Opposition has a problem with the revamp, I want to know what it is. Do they want to say that Malaysia belongs to the Malays? I want them to point out to me where have I gone wrong,” he added.
Nazri also refuted a commentary in a Malay daily, which suggested that the BTN curriculum overhaul was his idea.
“It is a Cabinet decision. The decision to revamp the course came up shortly after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the 1Malaysia concept,” he added.
In Cyberjaya, Dr Mahathir described criticisms levelled against the BTN modules as “mere exaggeration”.
He said the BTN courses had been around for more than 20 years and there had been no complaints from those who had attended the courses.
“In fact, the participants have always found the courses useful because we try to teach civil servants new cultures and new values. This is because the culture and value system that was in place then was not conducive to success.
“Therefore, if they want to serve the Government well, they must practice and accept certain value system like being more disciplined, honest and not corrupt. I don’t see what is wrong with that,” he said on Monday.
Dr Mahathir had earlier said that there was no need to revamp the BTN training modules as they were fine in instilling the patriotic spirit among Malaysians.
The BTN module came into spotlight when Selangor recently prohibited state civil servants and students of higher learning institutions owned by the state from attending the courses, claiming that they were an indoctrination process by the Barisan Nasional government and aimed at brainwashing Malaysians to hate Opposition parties.
Dr Mahathir said that during the BTN courses, when history of Malaysia was discussed, it would be mentioned that the country was once called Tanah Melayu.
“Now it is Malaysia because we have people who have come to settle down here. That is fact of history. You can’t deny facts and history. But if we can’t even mention that, then we are denying history,” he told reporters.

tunku : first of all i don't see any racist statement made by Tun Dr Mahathir. He mentioned civil servants and MALAYSIANS. he did not say let BTN only for the Malays.nazri aziz used to barks so he does that without any specific reason. the courses at BTN obviously attended by all races and it is not wrong to tell about the past(facts) as it is part of the country history. nazri should find other issue to be popular.he said that the BTN would be revamped recently but was denied immediately by the deputy minister in prime minister department ahmad maslan who is in charge of BTN, saying that it will be upgraded and improvise with the current issues.even Muhyiddin agrees with ahmad maslan. go bark somewhere else nazri.

Sports May Be Compulsory In Schools - Muhyiddin

MUAR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The curriculum may be revised to make sports compulsory to relive the glory days of sports in schools, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the education policy would be revised to give importance to sports as the Education Ministry wanted to produce students, who excel not only in academics but also co-curriculum.
"There are many co-curriculum activities. We have sports, clubs, associations and uniform units. I want to change the policy. Sports will be compulsory in schools," he said at the Sekolah Menengah Tinggi Muar alumni dinner here Sunday night.
Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said the ministry would introduce incentives to make this happen.
He also shared fond memories of his school days including taking part in a play titled "Uda dan Dara".
Muhyiddin later launched the school's heritage museum and approved a RM200,000 allocation for the setting up of the school's brass band.
Present was Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, who was Muhyiddin's classmate in Form Six in 1965 and 1966.

tunku : it is a very good idea and must be implemented soon as sports is a healthy activity for everyone and good for the country but before making it compulsory the ministry must make sure that the facilities must be there for each and every school to train it's students.sport facilities are still lacking in most of the schools.not every school has the same facilities.i hope muhyiddin will make these facilities available to every school in the country.at least each and every district in the country has the facilities.

Slight reshuffle involving deputy ministers....KJ in?

No cabinet reshuffle the end of the year: Najib

SEREMBAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has denied rumours that there would be another Cabinet reshuffle at the year end. He said the current Cabinet was still new and formed only seven months ago when he became prime minister.
"If there are too frequent Cabinet reshuffles, it will affect the work being carried out by the ministers, hence impacting the smooth running of the government administration."
Najib said this to reporters after presenting prizes to the winners of a badminton competition in conjunction with the annual programme of wives of elected Barisan Nasional elected representatives, here, Saturday.
"I've not thought about it...a Cabinet reshuffle can be done anytime but at the moment we don't need to as the present Cabinet is still new," he said. Najib, however, indicated that there might be a slight reshuffle involving deputy ministers.
"There are some matters at the deputy ministerial level that I need to look at in detail," he said.
He did not elaborate on this but his Cabinet lost one deputy minister when Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Abdul Taib resigned from the post Friday.

tunku : kj is having meeting with all the ketua pemuda at janda baik.it is called seminar but actually the so called seminar is to make sure that all the ketua pemuda pressure Najib to appoint kj at least as a deputy minister. Najib too has said that there might be a slight reshuffle involving deputy ministers especially now that sulaiman taib is resigning. we hope Najib will not make the big mistake here. kj not only should not be appointed as deputy minister but should be forced to resign from his ketua pemuda post. pemuda under him has not shown any improvement that is much needed.let razali take over as ketua pemuda.

'We'll pray till his stomach bursts': Nik Aziz

Far from feeling remorse over the damnation prayer issue, Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat took another swipe at Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak this morning albeit without mentioning his name.
Accompanied by deafening cheers, the PAS spiritual leader proclaimed: "As long as they do not give (the oil royalty), we will pray until that person's stomach bursts."
Nik Aziz was addressing thousands of his supporters who had gathered in the state capital of Kota Bharu.
The supporters also wore headbands with the words 'We love Tok Guru'.
Senior state exco Husam Musa, PAS Youth leader Roslani Alani Abdul Kadir and several others also addressed the crowd.
Previously, Nik Aziz had drawn flak from Umno leaders when he threatened to perform a special prayer for the 'demise' of the premier over the oil royalty issue.

tunku : one morning the senile old man woke up in the morning with blood full in his mouth.......what else to say about this senile old man.he is so arrogant and think that no one could do anything to him.i think he want more warning from God before he keep his dirty and stinking mouth shut.

Transsexual worries for safety after negative reactions to ‘marriage’

LONDON: Malaysian transsexual Mohammed Fazdil Min Bahari is afraid to return home due to the negative reactions over her marriage to a Briton.
She has received a lot of negative e-mails and comments from people, some even accusing her of insulting the Malaysian government.
Mohammed Fazdil or Fatine, said she felt frustrated that people did not understand she had come to the United Kingdom because she wanted to be with the man she loved.
She added that she could not do that in Malaysia and people in the country seemed to be taking a religious point of view over the matter.
“I am so frightened to go back. I am worried for my safety,” she said in response to what she claimed was the inaccurate portrayal of their love story by a Malay tabloid which caused the negative reactions.
Speaking up for the first time after The Sun newspaper in London broke the story, Fatine said she did not know what to do as her family had already disowned her.
“I’ve spent hours on the phone asking for forgiveness. I love them but I can’t change what has happened,” said the 36-year-old makeup artist.
Fatine said it was a shame that the article had twisted their story as it was never their intention to insult the Malay community.
“They also put my father’s name in it, which was unnecessary and my mother is now afraid to leave the house,” she added.
Fatine also said that she understood that the Malays were very traditional and that “people like me aren’t acceptable”, but she hoped things would cool down eventually.
Fatine, who married Ian Young in a civil partnership in May, faces deportation back to Malaysia after her Leave to Remain visa was rejected by the Home Office over an "incorrect” photograph.
A second application with a passport photograph with a white background as required, instead of blue, was submitted for reconsideration but it was also thrown out in October.
The pair has just submitted their third application for a Right to Family Life under the Human Rights Act in Britain.
On Monday, Immigration director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman said the department might take action against Fatine when she returned home as it viewed problems like overstaying seriously.
Young, 30, however, maintained that Fatine’s application was still being processed by the UK Border Agency and she should not be classified as an overstayer.
“All we want is to be married, happy and living together.
“The only way we can do this is over here in the UK,” said Young, who runs a property maintenance company.
He said the article also made it sound like they were trying to make a mockery of Muslim laws, which was never their intention.
“As a result of the way we have been portrayed, I now feel that we would be in more danger than ever if we were to try and live in Malaysia,” he added.

tunku : only sick people married with the same sex.if this transsexual(pondan) step foot in Malaysia, the Islamic religion department should take action against him.i can't say against her as the pondan is a man.may be he can ask anwar the melodrama queen's help, he'll be more than glad to help this pondan.i hope that we are not that open minded on this issue, it is very clear as a Muslim it is HARAM,period.

"I Will Not Resign", Says Nik Aziz

KOTA BAHARU, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said on Wednesday he would not bow to pressure and resign as the Kelantan menteri besar.
"It is not probable that I should resign just because 200 naughty boys demanded so under a teak tree at the doors of the state administrative building," he said in a statement, referring to the demonstration yesterday by the so-called Jemaah Rakyat Prihatin Kelantan (JRPK) at the building calling for his resignation.
The protestors had also demanded that he withdraw his statement calling on the people of Kelantan to pray for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's downfall if the federal government did not pay oil royalty to the state.
Nik Aziz, who is the PAS Spiritual Leader, said he would neither withdraw that statement nor apologise to Najib as demanded by the group.
"Why must I take heed of the demand by these not even 200 Umno boys to apologise when the Umno president (Najib) himself as the Number One has not asked me to apologise or retract my statement?" he asked.
Najib had said he would not ask Nik Aziz to apologise but added that he could not understand why such a statement had to be made because the federal government had helped the Kelantan government by providing a compassionate fund and allocation of more than RM7 billion under the Ninth Malaysia Plan despite the state being administered by PAS.
The prime minister had also said that Nik Aziz should realise that Muslims regarded the intention to pray for the downfall of others as something extreme and not reflective of the spirit of Islam.

tunku : everyone knows that nik aziz won't resign just because 200 people demanded him to resign.it is good to know that he won't resign.the longer he stays the better for BN and the worst for pas. on the other ground, hadi awang had regain control in pas when he had nailed down nik aziz down to earth recently which made nik aziz to instruct his son in-law to resign as the ceo of pmbk.the recent exposes of the "tok guru" misdeeds shows that hadi is on the attack mode.nik aziz has shut his mouth on hadi and nasha.keep it up pas.now pas members can see the true colours of their 'tok guru'.

That was the warning sounded to the Federal Government by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday.
Lim (DAP-Air Putih) said the state government needed the money to undertake heritage conservation work effectively after George Town was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
He said former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had promised the money to Penang, but the state had yet to receive anything although Malacca had already received its share.

Penang and Malacca were jointly listed as World Heritage Sites by Unesco last year.
Lim said the state government had so far been hesitant to take the matter up to the international arena as it did not want to tarnish the country's image.
"We will continue appealing to the Federal Government for it to fulfil the promise.
"If it does not work, we will work towards finding other financial resources to preserve and protect Penang's heritage.
"However, if we are forced to the point of desperation, we will take it up at the international level."
He said this in reply to a question by Ong Chin Wen (PKR-Bukit Tengah) on alternative financial resources to preserve heritage in the state.
Lim earlier said that the issue should not be politicised, adding that the sincere wish of the former prime minister to give Penang the allocation was now just an empty promise.
He added that there were rumours that the RM25 million had been hijacked by others.

tunku : after so many years of being an opposition leader, this kit siang's son still acting as an opposition even though he's the CM of Penang now.before becoming cm, he promised moon and stars to the people,he will solve all the problems within a year but it is coming to 2 years soon and still nothing have been done. as a cm he should communicate with federal government if the money was promised by them and not blackmailing in the state assembly.this is a gangster way of doing things not a cm.afterall a "kurang ajar" will always be "kurang ajar".he can't even raise rm25million. where have the money gone(commissions) from making the lease hold lands to free hold?

AirAsia settles airport tax arrears after it gets RM25mil discount

KUALA LUMPUR: Air Asia settled its airport tax arrears of RM111.6mil after receiving an incentive of RM25mil from Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB), said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri.
This was the result of negotiations with MAHB for a better package as AirAsia owed a total of RM132.1mil in airport tax as of March this year.
Of the incentive, Abdul Rahim said Air Asia was given RM20.5mil and RM4mil to AirAsia X for a good job in bringing 10 million tourists and contributing to the country's profit.
He was responding during Question Time to Wee Choo Keong (PKR - Wangsa Maju) who wanted an explanation on why AirAsia seemed to receive special privileges on owed airport taxes and what action was taken to recover the debt.
Wee said that disputes did not excuse Air Asia from late payment of airport taxes as it was paid by the public.
He also said that any discount on airport taxes to AirAsia should be directed back to its customers.
Wee said earlier that the Transport Minister confirmed last May that AirAsia owed RM110mil in airport taxes from 2002 to March 31, 2008.
He then said the Transport Minister confirmed in February that the amount owed was reduced to RM65mil.

tunku : by giving airasia a discount of RM25mil, the authorities is setting a "good" example that anyone with huge debts can get huge discount too.may be airasia can do it again and will gain more from the discount in the future.it will be a good business strategy for them.

Nik Aziz Using Religion For Politics: Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Kelantan Menteri Besar's intention to seek divine help to destroy the future of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Umno if the federal government refused to give oil royalty to Kelantan was a big mistake in terms of religion.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he found it difficult to understand how a person said to be a religious expert could voice such a thing, more so against a leader of the same faith and race.
"I cannot advise him (Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat) because he is more knowledgeable than me (concerning Islam). But such a stand should not have been made by a person who is said to be a religious figure.
"Maybe he (Nik Aziz) is more a politician and is trying to use religion for political ends ...peddling religion for political interests. This is something I cannot fathom," he told reporters Monday when asked about the remarks by the Kelantan Menteri Besar.
Earlier, Muhyiddin, who is also Umno deputy president, had opened the Local Authorities Convention and National Union of Local Authorities Employees' biennial convention at the CIDB Convention Centre here.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the attitude of Nik Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual advisor, did not reflect that of a religious person who erstwhile had been held in high esteem for his piety.
"All my life I have never heard of people praying for the destruction of others, especially people of one's own faith and race. I think this is against the teachings of Islam, I do not know what the punishment is. Maybe religious experts do," he said, adding that it was typical of PAS leaders to manipulate religion in their political interest.

tunku : only satan will pray for others destruction and you can guess what nik aziz is. a true Muslim knows that it's wrong to pray (doa) for others destruction but nik aziz have special permit to do so. he is exceptional material, he even have an imaginary friend named 'Kolonel Mat'.the senile old man is for sure more a satan than a human being.God is great, we can see that he is on the way of self destruction because of his own 'prayers'.
