BN retained Kuala Besut

BESUT: Barisan Nasional is said to have retained the Kuala Besut state seat in Terengganu with a slight increase in majority over May's GE13 results.
Barisan's Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Rahman, 37, polled 8,293 votes against 5,688 votes for PAS candidate Azlan Yusof, 48, a majority of 2,605 votes, according to unofficial results.
The official announcement of the results by the Election Commission (EC) will be made at 10pm.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Barisan's Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar, who passed away on June 26.
The EC reported 14,108 or 79.78% voter turnout, with  13,188 votes cast at eight polling stations, nine postal votes and 911 early votes.
Barisan's win maintains the status quo, with the ruling coalition garnering 17 seats in the state assembly to Pakatan Rakyat's 15.
A win for PAS would have resulted in a hung state assembly.
In the May 5 general election, Barisan won with a majority of 2,434 votes.

Titanic Shafee-Karpal battle to undo Anwar's acquittal

A TITANIC courtroom battle is shaping up between two legal gladiators -- Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah for the government and Karpal Singh for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the prosecution's bid to undo the opposition leader's Sodomy II acquittal delivered early last year.

The outcome is as salivating as the prospects of this unprecedented legal skirmish, with its political implications, and the hype and theatrics surrounding it.

Shafee is not just a courtroom lawyer with defences of unusual clients in the dock. He is also a celebrity with the defiance you'd normally associate with the colourful people he defended against criminal charges of murder, drug dealing and organised crime.

When Shafee sets about defending the accused, he inadvertently becomes the news, a cause celebre of sorts at ease as a pugilist debunking allegations not just in the courtroom but also in the realm of public opinion. But Karpal bores the same reputation, too.

Check out Shafee's combative posture at his impromptu press conference on Monday justifying his appointment as government prosecutor.

"There is no political motive. There is no conflict of interest. I have read the 25 volumes of appeals records, it is a nightmare. If it had gone today, I would have finished my appeal in two to three hours."
We are hoping it won't conclude that speedily, given the compelling soap opera, which is like being glued to an exciting film noir.

But it does demonstrate Shafee's competitive streak, the strong will to want to win a court case underlined by his snazzy rejoinders, both brash and super confident, and this from a lawyer who claims he is not a politician but who can duke it out as good, if not better, than most political talking heads.
As a defender of the righteously trampled, Shafee is no more controversial than Karpal, a litigant with a taste for the dramatics, in and out of the courtroom.

The only marked difference between the two is that Shafee is not a member of parliament or a political party leader like Karpal. But where political machinations go; both criminal lawyers are cut from the same cloth, their fondness for incendiary arguments well documented.

This will be the second time Shafee faces off Karpal in a courtroom, the first being in 1977-78 where as deputy public prosecutor, he cross-examined Karpal who was counsel for various accused in cases involving the Internal Security Act relating to firearms and drugs.

Immediately after Shafee's appointment as government lawyer, you'd think it was a sucker punch to the defence's gut, the way they reacted with indignant horror. The announcement itself was akin to drawing first blood for the tantalising court battle ahead. Karpal is to meet his match and so is Shafee, both firsts among equals.

No disrespect to the Sodomy I and II prosecution teams with their mixed results but their staid personalities were no match for Anwar and Karpal's stagecraft.

Shafee, on the other hand, will be snapping and hounding on Anwar's heels in the manner Karpal would in examining a hostile witness and addressing his case before public opinion.

Anwar's defence team is in any case filing a formal application to disqualify him on grounds that he is prejudicial to Anwar and that this represents a conflict of interest. Both claims appear overstated and superfluous but that's for the appeals judge to rule.

In any case, the role of the current prosecutor -- whether he or she is bred within the Attorney-General's Chambers, or an "outsider", as worried by former attorney-general Tan Sri Abu Talib Othman -- is to primarily win the appeal by proving that the accused was guilty as charged.

In Shafee's case, he must prove that the acquittal was made on what he deems as a "total misinterpretation of the facts".
There no difference between an "insider" and an "outsider" when the objective is the same -- to convince the judge to overrule the acquittal.

Calling Shafee's role a "conflict of interest" is also no stranger than Karpal's position, still representing Anwar even after Karpal had thrashed Anwar, first for sexual misconduct and later being unfit to lead the opposition.
If Shafee is guilty of anything, it is guilt by irony. The ability to dispassionately swap legal mindsets without missing a heartbeat but certainly not by the allegations presented by Anwar's legal team to eliminate him.
As for Karpal, Monday's non-appearance due to a back ailment was a little disappointing, knowing the kind of fireworks he and Shafee could have detonated.

Karpal, by all measures, is still the heaviest of heavyweight litigators in the country despite his advanced age and health issues but in duking it out with Shafee, it might be that this would be the real test of mettle for both lawyers and that the legal, not the political, drama will shine through.

Merger of Chinese Political Party: BN needs to stay as a racial based organization.

We all know that the structure of BN is the main target by the opposition by calling it as a racist system.

This particular action by the opposition proves that the Pakatan Rakyat in Malaysia is not politically mature. Up till today, all the critics that they made are not positive to the development of the country. It has been proven that everything that has been criticized by the opposition is made worst. For example, the abolishment of ISA, The Emergency Ordinance, the indelible ink, and also the sedition act.

In other words, the critics that came out of the mouth of the opposition are a critic that can destroy our country. All of their actions are focused on destroying BN and not to strengthen the country.

Thus, the opposition pressures on BN to become a non-racial entity and change the party structure are methods to weaken BN.

With the defeat of all Chinese party in BN, there are calls for all of these parties to merge.

Basically the merger cannot make any difference in the strength of BN if the same approach is taken by the new party. We cannot doubt the benefits that it can bring, such as cost saving in the managerial level.

However, the merge must take into consideration the original structure with the racial polarization of the party. This is has been said to have bring a lot of positive feedback for Malaysia.

It has been proven that all of the non-racial party are not equipped to work for all of the races. Only the race of their leaders can benefit from such parties, this is what is happening to the DAP.

The DAP are led by the Chinese since its establishment and no other race has been successful in penetrating the leadership circle. Even the DAP leadership ensures any individual from other races that will be given an important position must be a person with low I.Q. and can be manipulated easily so that their agenda of Chinese supremacy will stand strong.

The most disgusting thing for DAP is to put a Chinese with a Malay name to represent the Malays, just for the sake of tricking the Malays into believing they are a real nationalist party.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) structures are divided into parties that are racially based and it has been proven that the formula for harmony and peace worked. The formula is to ensure that every race has a voice through their parties and will not have to face the risk of being left out by the party leadership. Every party then has their own space to pressure the BN leadership to ensure each and every race is fairly treated. The leadership of BN are responsible to act on the issues that have been discussed. The main goal is for the benefit of the people of Malaysia.
PKR is also the same. Even though it promotes itself as a multiracial political entity, is it logical for Anwar Ibrahim to permit PKR to be controlled by other races other than his family members and his cronies. Same goes to Gerakan, do you think that Gerakan that is led by Chinese will open its doors to Malay or an Indian to take the helm of the party?

The answer is no! Not in a million years. In fact the minority in the parties are not more than mere puppets or symbol of their party.
Do not believe the lies of the opposition that says UMNO and MCA as racist. The truth is the BN structure is the only key to keep Malaysia afloat. And all the opposition, ever wants is to get hold of the key so they can destroy what we have built.

LOCALS OPINE BN MAY POLL HIGHER MAJORITY OF AROUND 3,500

PAS is struggling to keep its presence in the Kuala Besut state felt as the party is slowly slipping away from the race to take Kuala Besut state constituency from Barisan Nasional (BN) to deny the BN the state government.

With just three days to polling which is fixed on Wednesday, the party election machinery continues its best trying to attract audiences who are voters to its numerous nightly ceramah but the response is luke warm and at times cold.

The party speakers who included party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and deputy president Mohad Sabu had tried raising national issues such as corruption and white elephant projects around Terengganu but to no avail.

The locals, who are majority fishermen and farmers, are more interested in the daily bread and butter issue that included the need for water breaker at the jetty where they can berth their trawlers safely from the monsoon wind.

They are simple folks who are considered religious as mosques and suraus can been seen at a space of 100 meters from each other, reflecting the deep religious culture among them.
Leading a simple life where the only presence of Chinese shops are at the Kuala Besut town where the jetty to Pulau Perhentian is located.

The only Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) available is Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) which several shopkeepers complain that this makes them uncomfortable as ATMs of other banks are available only at Jertih, about 20km away.

PAS had been dominant in this border town of Terengganu and Kelantan as some half of the 31,312 population here can be considered as Kelantanese where 17,679 of them are voters in Kuala Besut.
PAS influence however eroded slowly when at the height of the ‘battle of influence’ between the party and Umno split the people and families where two imams and separate mosques and suraus prevailed.

That was in the eighties but now those incidents were the past and the present Kuala Besut is a serene and tranquil flat land where wooden stilt houses blend with modern brick houses, still retaining the kampong and the coastal environment and landscape.

Given the background, PAS old approach of religious issues and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) approach on government’s alleged corruption and scandals do not go down well with the locals.
In fact, BN does not play up of scandals of opposition leaders in the last eight days of campaigning and instead, focus on projects and housing for the locals.

After 10 days of campaigning, tame and mild, BN leads with leaps and bounds, leaving PAS far behind where even locals opined that BN’s majority would be higher, around 3,500 compared to three months ago 2,434 votes.

Statement on Bible Issue

Recently, several quarters have raised their concerns on the allegations that I support the burning of bibles. Much of these concerns were unfortunately based on unfounded allegation based on rumors and unverifiable third party accounts made worse by constant spinning of the alternative media.

During a press conference on Thursday 25 July 2013, I was asked by a MalaysiaKini reporter whether Ibrahim Ali should also be prosecuted for his alleged call to burn Bibles.

I explained to the reporter that I was upset when I first learned of alleged call by Ibrahim Ali  to burn Bibles surfaced. I wanted an explanation of the situation from Ibrahim Ali, as many of my constituents had expressed to me of their dissatisfaction towards Ibrahim Ali for making such controversial statement.

As evident in the transcript of the press conference, I never expressed my support to any call of burning Bibles by anyone, nor did I instigate Muslims to confiscate Bibles from fellow Malaysian Christians and burn them in anger.

Let me be very clear, I am not a religious bigot.

Those who know me personally as an individual and a politician, and know the work I've done as an MP would readily attest to that. I was brought up in an environment where my parents taught me to respect other religions and I have carried this advice dearly throughout my career as a politician. Despite the many polarising controversial issues on religious discourse, which have cropped up in the past few years, I try my best to stay true to my conviction of being fair, honest and frank.

First, I acknowledge this is one of the most contentious issue among Muslims and Christians alike. Therefore I support the 10-point solution mooted by the Prime Minister in 2011. I have made that very clear on my campaign trail in the recently concluded 13th General Election.

Second, I never touched the controversial usage of 'Allah'  in any of my Parliamentary debates, as I knew it would  inflame further the already over-strung relationship between Muslims and Christians in the country. I would rather allow this issue be settled without political one-upmanships.

Third, I spend one third of my parliamentary annual allocation in the Christian-dominated state assembly of Kadamaian where the allocation goes into upgrading churches and funding Christian religious events.

And finally, as an MP, I have not only assisted in sending Muslim pilgrims for the hajj in Makkah but I have also supported efforts to send Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem.

How can I be construed as a religious bigot, when 45 percent of my constituents in Kota Belud are Christians?

My question is then, must DAP leaders take everything out of context and insinuate that I am a religious bigot when in reality nothing of that sort was actually intended in the press conference last Thursday?

Once again, let me reiterate, at no point in the press conference did I raise the issue of burning of bibles except when I was quoting Datuk Ibrahim Ali's reply to me.

To further clarify the controversy, I have attached the original unedited transcript of the press conference session below.

To any party still bent on accusing me of calling  for bible burning, I will not hesitate to take legal action against them. This issue is far too serious to be treated as just another political strategy by the opposition. It is downright dangerous and explosive.

ABDUL RAHMAN DAHLAN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Press Conference began with my briefing on the Ops-Raya and Anti-Litter campaign by Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia and Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara, both under the purview of my ministry. After all questions posed to my ministry were answered, I opened the floor to any other questions from the press. This was when the reporter from MalaysiaKini, Ahmad Fadli KC, asked me a few questions.

The full transcript of my conversation with the MalaysiaKini reporter is presented in verbatim below:

MalaysiaKini Reporter (MK):

Merujuk kepada pasangan blogger sex yang menghina Islam ni, ada sebahagian masyarakat mempertikai kenapa personaliti lain yang juga kelihatan seperti mempersenda agama lain dan menghina agama lain tidak diambil tindakan. So what is your take on this whole issue?

Dato' Abdul Rahman Dahlan (DARD):

Yang statement mana yang menghina agama? Seperti mana?

MK: Saya kira sebahagian masyarakat mempertikai kenapa Datuk Ibrahim Ali...

DARD: What did he say? What did Ibrahim Ali say?

MK: Tentang sebelum ini gesaan beliau untuk membakar bible...

DARD: Are you sure? Are you sure Ibrahim Ali said that?

MK: Well... It’s reported...

DARD: It is reported... Well I was... Do you want me to say this in English? You are from where?

MK: MalaysiaKini

DARD: You want this in English or Malay?

MK: It’s up to you Dato'.

DARD: Ok...

This is not about your right, this is about maintaining harmoni kehidupan kita.

I interviewed Ibrahim Ali. I was very upset juga sebab saya mewakili ramai pengundi yang bukan Islam di kawasan saya.

Other than that, you throw it in the garbage! Which one is more humane (berperikemanusiaan)? Which one is more respectful? Itu yang Ibrahim Ali kata.

Tetapi seperti biasa, portal-portal tertentu pusing dan mengatakan itu adalah kenyataan untuk membakar kitab injil. It’s not right...

In our religion, there is a respectful way of disposing sacred books. You have a choice (either) throw it in the dustbin and it goes into the dumpsite (landfill) or you burn it, kumpulkan ashes nya, simpan dalam plastic and then we go in the middle of the sea, recite some special doa, and then you buang di dalam air. You see, it’s a big difference you know.

But of course some portal would like to turn it the other way around. Ok? Alright. Thank you.

Kuala Besut By-Election: The 16:16 Flyers Makes DAP Tremble in Fear.

The tension between PAS-PKR in the midst of Kuala Besut by-election is no longer a secret. It is said that PKR members who attended the campaign are only there for show. Other than that, they are not doing anything to help PAS.

In addition to that, the act of appointing Husam Musa as the by-election director for PAS is not truly appreciated. Husam has set his heart and mind to remain loyal to Anwar Ibrahim and the PKR party. Husam carries the responsibility of being a parasite in PAS. As we all know, Husam Musa’s new mission now is to take over the PAS presidency.

Similar to his “brothers” in PKR, Husam also holds a grudge against Hadi Awang, who becomes the “avenging cleric” by backstabbing PKR prior to the 13th General Election. The statement made by Hadi about drug abuse among PKR members, truly left an ugly scar that can’t be conceal by the party. Now, PKR is said to sue Hadi for that particular statement.

PKR are also thinking of DAP’s call to boycott the Kuala Besut by-election. DAP stated their stand if PAS were to win the election, the Terengganu state seat would be 16:16. DAP worries that If this were to happen, PAS and UMNO will form a unity government and the spirit of unity would then spread to other states as well.

We are confident that PKR would be left in tattered if the union of PAS and UMNO were to happen. Even though PAS is ranked last on the result of the 13th General Election, the strength of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to manipulate Malay voters is because of PAS admission to the PR. Without PAS, it is hard for PKR or even DAP to trick the Malays to believe that they will uphold the sanctity of the Islamic faith and to safeguard the power of the Malay kings in this country.

DAP and PKR worries are not baseless after all when there are flyers distributed addressing the issue of a possible unity government are spread out in Kuala Besut. Even though the flyers are seen as PAS’s desperate tactic to win, it may influence Kuala Besut voters that are hoping for PAS-UMNO to unite.

Husam is familiar with this situation and truly understand the worries of PKR and DAP. But, as a person who put himself first rather than his party, Husam is seeking new ways to slingshot himself to fame. Because of that, he is seen as ignoring the position of Hadi Awang in Kuala Besut by-election by putting himself as the most important man in PAS for now.

His hope that, in the Kuala Besut by-election, PAS will realize that they were wrong for leaving him out in any party or state position.

The conclusion is, in Kuala Besut by-election, it is not a war between UMNO-PAS, but more about the psychological war between the leaders of the Pakatan Rakyat. It shows that the hypocrisy among PR leaders is chronic. It is correct to assume that PR is not only disunited but the infighting between their leaders can’t be anymore. Only their ego and stubbornness is holding them together for now.

Kuala Besut by-election is pointing towards a blue wave

Ask any person from Kuala Besut which is their favourite local football team and their likely reply will be Kelantan or Kelate.
Almost 90% of the people here support the team, also known as the Red Warriors, considered one of the most organised teams in the country.

Roadside stalls can only be seen selling Kelantan jerseys although Kuala Besut is inside Terengganu.
It’s the same with the accent used in this sleepy coastal town – people here kecek kelate (speak Kelantan) instead of cakap Terengganu (speak Terengganu).

Instead of saying makang (eat), people say make. Instead of pisang (banana), people say pise. Instead of Ikang (fish), they say ike.

The only thing that separates Kuala Besut and neighbouring Pasir Puteh in Kelantan is a big arch marking the borders between the two states. Everything else is similar – Kuala Besut seems to be more Kelantan than Terengganu.

Politically however, the Besut people don’t follow the footsteps of the Kelantan people who are hardened PAS supporters. The Besut people have a mind of their own and are aligned more to the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional.

In fact, since the 2004 general elections, PAS has not won any of the state seats - Kuala Besut, Kota Putera, Jertih and Hulu Besut - under the Besut parliamentary constituency. It is also the only parliamentary constituency in Terengganu without a PAS state representative.

Tomorrow, the people of Kuala Besut will vote in one of the most important by-elections in recent Malaysian history. Barisan candidate Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Rahman of is facing Azlan Yusof of PAS.
This by-election is crucial for Barisan, which has 16 to PAS’ 15 seats in the state assembly, and a PAS victory will result in a “hung state assembly.”

Former assemblyman Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar who died on June 26, won the seat in the May general elections with a majority of 2,434 votes.

The previous two elections in 2004 and 2008 saw victories for Barisan with similar majorities and this time the ruling coalition is aiming to double its majority.
PAS only won the seat back in 1999 with a majority of 487 votes. That was also the year when PAS ruled the state.

Political pundits say there is no indication that PAS will be able to repeat that result in this by-election.
In public, however, PAS leaders are saying that they are in for a “shock” victory, but privately they acknowledge that they have an arduous task overcoming the odds.

Both parties have equally strong machinery and have been campaigning from house to house, meeting as many voters as possible from morning until midnight. Since it is Ramadhan, many of the campaigns involve prayers with the community.

To ensure that the voters in Kuala Besut remain on the blue side, Barisan has pledged many projects to improve the livelihood of the constituents.

The biggest project would be the RM250million to deepen the Sungai Besut estuary for the fishing and tourism industries.

The government also approved a RM35 million project to upgrade and fix the non-functioning Lowvier Dam in Kampung Nangka.
Besides that, the government also announced an RM28million project to build a secondary school in Tok Saboh.

It also presented livestock such as goats, chickens and cows to 314 farmers in Kuala Besut.
According to a source, more than 15 government agencies have been visiting  Pulau Perhentian to give away "goodies."

Barisan has maintained that the promises and projects are not by-election gimmicks but rather their commitment to the people here.

PAS leaders estimated that the Barisan government had pledged close to RM373million during the by-election campaign.

On the PAS side, they have been bandying around the 16:16 Terengganu Baru (New Terengganu) agenda. They keep harping that even if they won the Kuala Besut seat, they are not interested in tops posts of the state.

Instead, they say that an equal number of seats for Barisan and the opposition in the state assembly will ensure more transparency and accountability in the running of the state.
“We will support the good things that Barisan want to implement for the people,”  are words of PAS leaders at their daily ceramah.

As expected, PAS went on the offensive against Umno, highlighting various misdemeanours of the current state government through daily press conferences and ceramah.

Except for the ceramah, which featured PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat and opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the attendances at other opposition ceramah have been very low.
Yesterday, about  3,000 people attended the opposition's final mega ceramah. Anwar and Nik Aziz were touted speakers, but they were nowhere to be seen.

PAS has also been highlighting the alleged feud between current and former Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh respectively. They say that the feud has affected the development of Besut.

Barisan has countered by alleging that PAS’ track record during their administration of the state from 1999-2004 was dismal.

Although it was Ramadhan, both parties have been guilty of attacking the opposing candidates, albeit mildly. PAS claimed Tengku Zaihan was not a local while several Barisan leaders had been keeping harping that Che Long was  “only” an SPM graduate.

Tengku Zaihan was born in the heart of Kuala Besut while Che Long was a self-made businessman known for his charitable ways. The candidates themselves however have not been involved in this petty politicking.
Political analyst Khoo Kay Peng expects a Barisan victory  as he the Malay electorate to be more likely to be thankful for all the help they receive from the government.

Other observers agree that there is little chance of PAS creating an upset and the blue wave is set to dominate Wednesday night when the results are known.

Shafee to lead appeal against Anwar sodomy acquittal

Lawyer Datuk Seri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has been given the authority by the Attorney-General to lead the prosecution team in their appeal against the acquittal of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his sodomy charge.

Muhammad Shafee said on Monday he considered his appointment as deputy public prosecutor for the appeal as public service and would carry out his duties properly.

He said it was first time that a lawyer has been engaged by the A-G to appear for the prosecution in a high-profile criminal case.

He said he was being paid a salary to ensure that his employment by contract is valid.
"It is a small amount purely to make sure that my contract is valid," said Muhammad Shafee who refused to disclose the amount to the media.

He said there would not be any conflict of interest for him to act for the prosecution.
He said he have been appointed by the A-G by fiat (authorization) under Section 376 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) and Article 145 (3) of the Federal Constitution to handle the appeal at the Court of Appeal.

He said that he was given the permission by A-G under Section 379 of the CPC to be employed on behalf of the Government to appear on the criminal appeal.

"I received the July 2 letter signed by the A-G on July 11. The other documentation for my contract was completed on Friday," he told reporters here.

He said he could also act for his other cases as long as there was no conflict.

Anwar was acquitted by the High Court on Jan 9 last year for allegedly sodomising Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, his former aide, at Desa Damansara Condominium in Bukit Damansara on June 26, 2008.

Trial judge Justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah had ruled that the court could not be 100% certain, after going through the evidence, that the integrity of the DNA samples had not been compromised.

Justice Mohamad Zabidin said that as the crime was sexual, the court was reluctant to convict based entirely on Saiful’s testimony without corroboration.

The verdict ended a trial lasting over two years, with 27 prosecution and seven defence witnesses called.

PAS GIVES UP HOPE OF WINNING, EVEN HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN REDUCING MAJORITY

PAS has given up hope of winning the Kuala Besut state seat but the party has not ‘thrown the towel down’ yet as it struggles to reduce incumbent Barisan Nasional (BN) the 2,434 majority votes the latter got in the 13th general election.

But then, the party does not see any indication that the majority gained by BN would be reduced given several factors that hamper the efforts.

PAS central committee member who is also Tumpat MP Datuk Kamaruddin Jaafar said firstly was polling would be held on Wednesday, a working day where outside voters were not able to return to vote.

“Secondly the turn out for local voters is not expected to be high given it is a Wednesday, a working day and fasting month.

“Nevertheless, we will continue pushing as we are not out as yet,” he said.

PAS is indeed far behind BN with three more days to polling as the party’s nightly ceramah held at various kampungs attracted not more than 150 people, except for the party spiritual chief Datuk Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat’s ceramah held at Gong Badak which attracted some 1,000 but apparently most of them were from Kelantan, not local voters.

And that was only once, three nights ago and after that, there are no more Nik Aziz as he is not well, in fact he only spoke for hardly 15 minutes as he felt tired.
Terengganu PAS chief who is also party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had just appeared in the scene two nights ago after returning from performing umrah, thus leaving the party with a ‘commander’ in the battle.

The party had actually fell behind on the first day of official campaigning when BN launched a Massive attack in the state constituency with dozens of ministers and deputy ministers flocking meeting voters day and night.

Small ceramahs have been held indoors in small groups comprising not more 100 people, explaining government policies and what kind of aid the people can get for what kind of sectors while official functions are held daily in the daytime, a true show of force.

PAS, on the other hand has been slow as Terengganu PAS played second fiddle to Kelantan PAS given the director of the bye-election is from Kelantan – Datuk Husam Musa – and most of the election machinery is from PAS, which is just 20 minutes away from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan.

With such scenario, Kamaruddin is right about his party’s status in the ‘battlefield’.

Beware Of The Fake American QURAN

A new Quran is being distributed in Kuwait, titled “The True Furqan”. It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing companies;’Omega 2001′ and ‘Wine Press’ are involved in the publishing of ‘The True Furqan’, a book which has also been titled ‘The 21st Century Quran’!

It is over 366 pages and is in both the Arabic and English languages…it is being distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of this incorporating the Christian belief of the three spirits. And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs.

In one of its ayats it describes having more than one wife as fornication, divorce being non-permissable and it uses a new system for the sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It states that Jihad is HARAAM.

This book even goes as far as attacking Allah, Subhanahu wa Tahala! All this is poisoning our children at approx. $3.

It is not wise to compare the act of Burning a Malay Bible with the Alvivi case.

The case where 30,000 Malay language Bible that use the word Allah instead of God or Lord is still a pending court case where the government who tries to stop the distribution of the said book lost the first round. Even though it made the Muslims angry and agitated it shows to the world that the Malaysian government do not interfere with court proceedings and judgements.

Because of that, the pro-Malay NGO, PERKASA Malaysia, ask for the bible to be burn as what is done to books and publications that does not follow the specific requirements to be distributed in this country. The call for the bible to be burn is supported by the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. As a result, both parties are being targeted by the Christians community to show that Malaysia is not fair regarding religious solidarity.

They said that, it is similar to the case of Alvin-Vivian who provoked the Muslim community in Malaysia, by inviting Muslims to break their fast with Bak Kut Teh, a Chinese cuisine made of pork.
By using the same analogy, DAP and other pro opposition media (the Malaysian Insider and Malaysiakini) has unleashed an all-out attack saying that the government is unfair in its judgement.

It is clear that there are a lot of parties try to defend the Christian religion by manipulating the Bible issue and the word Allah to ensure that the Islamic Government of Malaysia will be at the receiving end of the onslaught. It is clear that in both of these issues; the sensitivity of Muslims is provoked first and not the Christians. The Muslims were offended by the Christian’s move to claim the name of the Muslim God for their Holy Scriptures.

The call to burn all Malay language Bible was made as a retaliation to the provocation made first by the Christian.
If the Christian did not provoke the Muslim by using their God’s name in the Bible, there would be no call for the Bible to be burn.

In other words, the Christian are intentionally trying to provoked the sensitivity of Muslims and later blame it on the Muslims after they retaliated. This is a dirty tactics that can’t be accepted by any religion, including the Christians.
Up till now, there are no proper explanations given by the Christian, for them to legitimize their claim, to use the word Allah instead of the word “God” or “Holy Father” as already being used by their religion for centuries.

Why not the Christian use the name of the Hindu god and goddess for the Tamil bible or the word ‘Buddha’ for Chinese language Bible? Or why the Christians are not keen to use the word Allah even in their English language bible.
If they say that the word Allah is the universal name of God, and not only the Malays use it in the Malay language why don’t they fight for the word Allah for all the bible in the world.

Another point to ponder by the Christian is that, even if the Bible is considered as a holy book in their religion, they do not put it as high of a status similar to the Muslim with the Al-Quran. This is because Islam does not condone the act of simply changing any words or facts in the Al-Quran ever since it was given to humanity. None of the words in the Al-Quran has been changed, add or deleted, even if it is one word.

Meanwhile the bible has been through several changes since it is being handed to the Prophet Isa. According to Muslim theology, the original Bible shows that Isa was a prophet of God and he is a human being. He was never a God or the son of God. The original Bible is nowhere to be found, and only one or two copies exist today. One is in Turkey, and the other one is in the Vatican City where even the Christians doubt its originality. This is because, they know that their Bible was changed many times and even they did not know which one is the original. Basically, majority of them believe that it does not even exist.

With the position of the Bible being changed and replaced, it can be said that, the current bible is a book written by men. Because of that, the call to burn the bible will not offend any religion because the modern bible did not come from God himself.

Hadi Awang Joins Nik Aziz in Sticking his Foot in It in Kuala Besut

With early voting already underway in Kuala Besut, all delusions of gentlemanly conduct seem to have gone out of the window as PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat proved this week.

Speaking at a ceramah late Thursday night, the former Kelantan MB set the tone when he accused Umno of being "evil" and "rejecting Islam."

This was of course despite the existing agreement between PAS and Barisan Nasional to conduct a clean and civil campaign in respect of the fasting month.

Presumably this was the same sort of agreement Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak through Jusuf Kalla prior to GE13 – one that PAS never had any intention of actually honouring.

And with PAS support in the seat wavering, reinforcements for the 82-year-old are being jetted in from all over (just don't mention Bangladesh).

Uncertainty in the Islamist party's inner sanctum must be at a high after party President Datuk Seri Hadi Awang made an enforced appearance.

Probably thinking he was being clever, the PAS President 'pulled an Anwar' this weekend when he patronised the largely rural community in what was actually an impressive fashion given the limited time he is spending there.

Describing fishermen for example, who clearly have to work extremely hard to make a living, as "idle", the Marang MP said that they should use a different kind of net (the internet) to learn more about politics and make an "informed" choice.

"Kuala Besut people have to learn from the educated," he said, ironically without thinking.

"We won many seats in Terengganu but here... we lose. We are not blaming the Kuala Besut people as they are busy working and do not have time to access the internet."

For a man who previously had enjoyed good popularity ratings there, expect his mealy-mouthed comments to cause his cachet in the state to drop.

From Umno one of the most important messages came from Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek who called on voters to remember the failings of PAS in Terengganu when it ruled the state from 1999 to 2004.

"I do not want to talk about development because PAS is not interested in development. There were no mosques, madrasah, religious schools and roads built at that time," he reminded.

"But, we must remember how cruel they were when they chased away kindergarten pupils from schools throughout Terengganu."

He was referring to the infamous incident in 2000 when the PAS State Government removed some 40,000 children from pre-school after issuing a directive that all multi-purpose halls, civic and community centres must not be used for their education.

The State Government even instructed the Kemas kindergartens to repair, at their cost, all the buildings before handing them over to the Terengganu PAS for their own use.

Perhaps the 1,148 members of the police and armed forces eligible to for early voting will have remembered their grim past and make sure they vote for a positive future.

The rest of the voters who take to the polls on Wednesday would do well to keep the Communication and Multimedia Minister's words in mind.

Nik Aziz Up to his Old Tricks in Kuala Besut

Until the latter half of this week the campaign between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat in Kuala Besut has been notable for the good conduct displayed by both sides.

Coinciding with Ramadan, both PAS and Umno campaigners have largely been on their best behaviour. At the start of the campaign period, leaders from both sides had pledged to conduct a clean and civil campaign in deference of the fasting month.

It should come as no surprise then that PAS' spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has been the first to try to tear the harmony apart.

Waiting until his first official appearance in the by-election campaign, the former Kelantan Mentri Besar described Umno as an "evil" party, criticising Umno supporters' devotion to Islam.

"Yes, Umno build mosques, but they don't pray," he claimed.

"Even the name of the party is not in Bahasa Malaysia but English."

In the run-up to May 5, Nik Aziz was called up on many occasions for branding Umno members and supporters as "evil", "infidels" and "Pharoahs".

These hardly sound like the teachings of a man who supposedly advocates peace.

He even claimed that those who were awarded Federal Government construction contracts to develop projects including mosques, schools and hospitals would be disqualified from receiving divine blessings.

"They are only going after the contracts and not doing it for Islam," Nik Aziz declared on Sunday.

"It is not possible to receive pahala (divine merits) if Umno has rejected Islam."

That Nik Aziz is at it again, and during Ramadan no less, shows where the wizened spiritual leader really stands where faith intersects politics.

This week we also saw another of Pakatan's tried and tested battleground techniques fall flat on its face, with PAS calling for a public debate after tarawih prayers.

Curiously, Vice President Datuk Husam Musa suggested Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Strategy Director Rafizi Ramli should take time away from his misfiring campaign on indelible ink, suggesting he could better represent PAS than one of their own number – much less PAS' own candidate.

It is a lesson that Pakatan Rakyat clearly failed to learn after their failed GE13 campaign in which calls for debates accounted for a large part of their efforts.

Rather than thrash out policy plans and offer any real substance to the rakyat, Pakatan leaders still believe the best path to the voters is a public demonstration of their fastest talkers – or in the case of Nik Aziz, their dirtiest.

Why Religious Fasting Could Be Good for Your Brain

Ramadan is in its second  week now, and the required dawn-to-dusk fasting often feels like a daily mini–marathon. By late afternoon, hunger and thirst have sucked me dry, leaving me sleepy, slow-minded, and sometimes short-tempered.

I know that the purpose of fasting is spiritual—God will reward us in the next life—but in this lifetime, fasting sometimes makes me an ineffective, irritable person. So I was excited to learn that Harvard psychiatrist John Ratey, MD, had spoken at a recent Renaissance Weekend event about how caloric restriction can improve brain function.

I emailed Dr. Ratey to find out if those benefits might extend to religious fasting, and he sent me a 2006 paper on the brain functioning of men during the Ramadan fast. The researchers studied a small group of healthy men during and after the holy month, looking at their brain activity via functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). They concluded that “all individual results showed consistent and significant increase of activity in the motor cortex during fasting.”

Other research shows similar results
That research builds on the work of other scientists, including Mark Mattson, PhD, who heads a neuroscience lab at the NIH’s National Institute on Aging. Mattson has done important research on how dietary restrictions can significantly protect the brain from degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.

In a 2003 article, Mattson and others reported that rats who were deprived of food every other day, or restricted to a diet at 30% to 50% of normal calorie levels, showed not only decreased heart rates and blood pressure, but also “younger” brains, with “numerous age-related changes in gene expression.”
Mattson and his colleagues also shared data from research on humans, which shows that populations with higher caloric intakes—such as the United States and Europe—have a greater prevalence of Alzheimer’s than do populations that eat less—such as China and Japan. The authors speculate that humans may have adapted to conditions of feast and famine; the stress of having little food, they write, “may induce changes in gene expression that result in adaptive changes in cellular metabolism and the increased ability of the organism to reduce stress.”

Although this research is relatively new, with many questions left unanswered, the authors conclude that “it seems a safe bet that if people would incorporate a spartan approach to food intake into their lifestyles, this would greatly reduce the incidence of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and stroke.” (Of course, how this recommendation translates for individual people remains almost a complete unknown; consult with your own doctor before restricting your diet in dramatic ways.)
But here’s the hard part: Although we know eating too much leads to all sorts of health problems, “it has proven very difficult to successfully implement prolonged dietary-restriction regimens,” reports Mattson and his team. Information and doctor’s orders are rarely enough motivation.

This last observation gave me hope, because it seemed the authors were overlooking the role of religion; it can inspire people in ways information or experts don’t. Would I be undergoing this rigorous month of fasting unless I believed strongly it was the right thing for me to do? Probably not. And the same goes for millions of Muslims around the world.

And many other religions include fasting or dietary restrictions as part of their religious observances. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or Mormons, for example, fast one Sunday a month. The Orthodox Church in America notes five separate fasting seasons on its website, in addition to individual fast days; during some of these fasts, all food is restricted, and during other fasts, only certain foods are off-limits. Some Roman Catholics abstain from meat on Fridays, and all do during Lent. Many types of Buddhist monks abide by a code that prohibits eating after noon each day.

Science may only now be discovering that some of these religious practices, both ancient and modern, offer nourishment not just for the soul, but for the body as well.

Titas covers Chinese, Indian civilisations, says education ministry

The Islamic and Asian Civilisation Studies (Titas) covers not only Islamic civilisation but Malay, Chinese, Indian civilisation and aspects of sociology, said the Education Ministry.

Higher Education director-general Datuk Dr Morshidi Sirat said Titas had been compulsory for public university students of all races since 2006 and both Muslims and non-Muslims have had no issue with the course.

Thus, he said, statements from certain parties that Titas would be unfair to non-Muslim students should not arise, as Muslim students would also be learning the civilisations of the Chinese and Indians and of future civilisation.

“Titas was introduced to give exposure to students of the civilisations existing in Malaysia as a way to develop patriotism and unity," Dr Morshidi said in a statement.

He was commenting on the debate for Titas to be made an elective subject instead of compulsory.

On the concerns that Malay be the medium of instruction, Dr Morshidi said the Private Higher Education Institution Act allows institutions to teach in other languages if they applied for it.

He said concerns that Titas was Islamic in nature, and not suitable for non-Muslims, should also not arise.

With Titas, he said, students have the opportunity to understand the various civilisations in Malaysia, adding that this could instil a sense of patriotism and nationalism.

Raja Nong Chik sues Nurul Izzah for defamation

Former Cabinet minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin is suing Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and two others for allegedly defaming him over the sale of prime land in Bukit Kiara.

He is seeking a court order to force the defendants to publish an apology, on his terms.

Raja Nong Chik also wants an injunction to stop the defendants from publishing any libellous words against him.

He is asking for general, aggravated and exemplary damages, interests and costs.

He has named Nurul Izzah, online news publisher Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd and its reporter Lu Wei Hoong as defendants in his libel suit.

On Friday, his lawyer M. Reza Hassan told the media that the suit is fixed for case management before High Court judge Justice Yeoh Wee Siam on Aug 19.

In his lawsuit, the former senator said Nurul Izzah has caused the publication of libellous and false statement against him at a press conference to the media on May 4.

He said Nurul Izzah has caused similar statements to be published in the Malaysiakini online news portal in two versions - Malay and English - on the same day.

He said the words implied that he has misused his position as the Federal Territories and Urban Well-being minister for his personal interest and gain.

He said the words also meant that he did not respect law, was untrustworthy and involved in a transaction which was doubtful and caused losses to the people.

He said the defendants has published the words without verifying its truth.
Raja Nong Chik said that the publication has tarnished his reputation and dignity as a politician, a former minister and a former senator.

He said his credibility had been ruined especially among the voters of the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency.

(In the 13th general election held on May 5, Nurul Izzah received 31,008 votes, beating Raja Nong Chik with a majority of 1,870 votes).

In his statement of claim, Raja Nong Chik said that he had sent a letter of demand dated June 10 through his solicitor asking Nurul Izzah to apologise, to promise not to publish libellous statements against him and pay appropriate damages but she had failed to do so.

He said that he had sent a similar letter to Mkini Dotcom and Lu and they, too, had failed to meet his demands.

He filed the suit through Messrs Raja Riza & Associates at the High Court civil registry on Wednesday.

PAS’ Husam Musa withdraws defamation suit against blogger Kickdefella

PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa has withdrawn his RM5mil defamation suit against blogger Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz, also known as Kickdefella.

Syed Azidi's lawyer Datuk Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos said Husam's lawyer had told the High Court here that he wanted to withdraw the suit with freedom to file it again in the future.

"The plaintiff Husam also asked for no costs to be incurred. I objected to it because three witnesses have already been called and the plaintiff himself has not even taken the stand," Jahaberdeen said after the proceedings in chambers before Justice Mariana Yahya here Friday.

He said Justice Mariana then allowed his application for the suit to be withdrawn without freedom to refile as well as costs to be fixed at RM40,000.

Husam filed the suit on Sept 19, 2011, claiming that three articles posted on Syed Azidi's blog contained defamatory elements about him.

The articles allegedly appeared on kickdefella.wordpress.com between January and July, 2011.

Azhar Idrus Vs Al-Azhar Scholar: PAS is in love with a Youtube celebrity.

According to history, PAS was built by youngsters who were educated from renowned Islamic universities like Al-Azhar and such. This is to become the pillar of the party that supposed to uphold Islamic values.

Sadly, the contributions of Al-Azhar as a cesspool of future PAS leaders are being marred by the advancement of technology. Currently, the responsibility of Ulama’ in the party are taken over by individuals who are only able to talk a lot about religion, and has the ability to hold a stand up comedy show at the same time.
Ironically, the popularity that is overwhelming PAS’s ulama’s from Al-Azhar is also an Azhar, or better known by his full name Azhar Idrus.

The popularity of reality shows especially on comedic skills is used fully by Azhar Idrus to expose himself in the same way but by using the Youtube as a medium and a little bit of religious knowledge that he have as an early start.

However, his planned works and he steadily increase the numbers of supporters challenging the numbers of PAS ulama’s who is more educated like Harun Din, Harun Taib and Nik Aziz.

The fact of the matter is the person who supports Azhar Idrus are not looking for religion, but they are looking for religion that is the comedic version of religion.

That is one of the reason why PAS ulama’ are not popular in ceramah anymore, Azhar Idrus is more popular even though he has no formal education in Islamic teaching, just the fact that he claimed he studied with a few Islamic teachers.

It is not puzzling why he campaigned for PAS in the Kuala Besut by-election (Malays are the majority) as what is happening now. Pas is using Azhar Idrus for the benefit of the party and they are ready to kick out Al-Azhar’s scholar that is filled in the party.

What important to PAS is to win the election; they will take whatever way for them to ensure that they win the election. PAS is actually ready to kick out the religious scholar’s faction in the party.

It is more shocking to know the fact that Azhar Idrus has already taken the ‘key’ to heaven and hell from Nik Aziz when he made statement regarding things that can only be judge by Allah.
He is not even Ulama’, he is just an ordinary preacher, but he dared to say who will go to heaven and hell.

Whatever it is, the reality is, there is a war brewing in PAS right now. PAS is choosing Youtube star instead of a genuine Islamic scholar. The party is at the brink of destruction.

Election Fever: Nik Aziz Knows That PAS Will Lose.

When the rumours that PAS Mursyidul Am Nik Aziz Nik Mat and PAS Vice President Mat Sabu will turn up the the Kuala Besut by election, all PAS members was in the state of frenzy. They expected that the dynamic duo would arrive and campaign in Kampung Nangka in Kuala Besut.

You actually can see that all of the PAS member’s faces are glowing in Kuala Besut yesterday. They were happy to hear that the old coons who can’t even walk are campaigning with Mat Sabu.
It’s a match made in political satire when a Quran bashing old man is paired up side by side with a womanizer.

However, their dream of seeing the pair do their magic did not came true as Nik Aziz on the last minute cancel the event because he is not well. Mat Sabu himself have to transfer his program to another site rather than doing it in the Gong Kedak Air Base.

Only 200 people attended the program. This is a new record as Mat Sabu is known to have called thousands of people to listen to his fake sermon.

It was said before, if any of the PAS branch is in financial needs, they can always call Mat Sabu to come and the collection from his sermons can be used to finance the operation for 2 or 3 month.

That is the myth of the Legendary Liar, Mat Sabu. However, the people of Kuala Besut has put that name to the test, and Mat Sabu failed to obtain the number that he has predicted to come to his sermon.

What we are intrigue is on the problem of Nik Aziz Nik Mat. We all know that he is old and frail, but before this, however, frail or sick, he will never disappoint his fans to speak, at least for 5 minutes.

According to his supporter, the “tok guru” aura is important and not what he have to say.
Nik Aziz can babble all he wants and his supporters take it all in without any hesitation.

We believe Nik Aziz is having a fever because he knows that PAS will lose in Kuala Besut. Up till now there are no sign that PAS will win in this constituency.

It is not hard to change a person’s mind in two months. And BN is doing a pretty good job in taking care of the Kuala Besut people. They can live peacefully, they can work, they can pray, what more do they need?

Does the government have the guts to prosecute Alvin, Vivian and Marino?

Does the government have the guts to prosecute Alvin, Vivian and Marino?

Alvin Lee, Vivian Tan together with the Ambassador of the Vatican City is accused of mocking the Islamic faith and trying to meddle with the Malaysian government administration. Both of them are considered as a threat to the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration.

Talking about the couple Alvin and Vivian, I do not see any laws that can be used against them for any offences in the Malaysian legal system. The thing is what they are doing is too small to even be on the front page of the local newspaper.
It is because, we were informed according to the religion of Islam it is forbidden to eat swine, and it is not an offence if a non-Muslim to invite a Muslim to eat swine. The couple even apologize for their mistakes. For us it is more than enough.
However, because of this matter is under the supervision of the ruling party of the country. We would not want to meddle in this issue. BN need to solve this matter professionally.

In the same time, the statement made by the Vatican City Ambassador, supporting the usage of the word “Allah” in Malaysian church triggered a chain reaction that pushed the government to take action against the Bishop.

Even though there’s an official apology from the Bishop, it is clearly not enough for some of the parties in Malaysia and they want Marino to be prosecuted. Maybe if Marino is hanged, then all of would be satisfied.

Even so, we are waiting with full attention whether the government is brave enough to take action against all of the names that is stated earlier in this article. What we want to say here is that whether the government has the guts to prosecute these individuals or not.

We believe that, we do not see that the government is brave enough. They can lie to their minions, but frankly speaking Malaysians are more intelligent than the government think. The most that they can do is to take statement from Alvin and Vivian. Marino was called by the foreign affairs division.

Let’s forget the statement made by the Attorney General, because we know that even the mightiest prosecutor in Malaysia cannot take any action before getting a nod by the government first.

The fact of the matter is, we believe that the action will not be brought fourth only because the government want to mend things with the Chinese and the Christians in Malaysia. The rationale is, after the PRU-13 the Chinese and Christians opposed BN almost 100%.

PERKASA and all of the Islamic NGO who believes that the government will defend Islam will be disappointed as Najib Razak is not as brave as he tries to be.

PAS BEGS FOR VOTES TO DEPRIVE BN OF A ONE SEAT MAJORITY

PAS begs for Kuala Besut voters to deprive the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) state government the Kuala Besut state seat so that PAS can regain the state to give them (voters) better benefits.

The party deputy president Mohamed Sabu or popularly known as Mat Sabu said PAS just needed Kuala Besut to make it even – 16 to 16 seats – and the two petitions the party filed against BN for alleged fraud would help it form the state government.

Speaking at a ceramah last night, he claimed PAS would practice its Welfare State policy if it wins Terengganu to give the people better life just like the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government of Selangor and Penang.

Attended by some 100 people, the ceramah was tame and Mat Sabu did not project any fiery oratorical skill as he always do given the month of Ramadhan where Muslims are to be at their best manner and adhere strictly to religious teachings.

After all, some locals said there was nothing to talk about in ceramahs because the general election had just be concluded two months ago where they are still waiting for projects promised during the general election to begin.

Campaigning during the Ramadhan month in Kuala Besut by-election is tame and subdued and the environment is normal except the clear visible of flags and banners lining the streets and kampungs.

Both parties are engaged in vigorous house-to-house campaign with ceramahs held in the houses for BN and PAS at empty fields and lands along the road.

Attendants to these ceramahs thus far do not exceed 150 and all are held around 10.30pm, after the Terawih prayer.

So far the big guns that have converge here was Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin while for PAS was party president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak is scheduled here on Sunday while PAS has scheduled Pakatan Rakyat (PR) big guns on Thursday night.

However, no one can confirm whether PR big guns like Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang would be coming.

Christian Terrorist Is Terrorizing Malaysia

It can’t be denied that the constant attacks on the Islamic faith in Malaysia are linked with the Christians. It made us think that it may be a planned move on some of the Christian group probably the Catholics and we are sure that it is not just a coincidence.

It started with the mocking of the holy month of Ramadan by the notorious couple Vivian Lee and Alvin Tan (of whom both are Christians) to the open support by the Vatican City Ambassador, Father Joseph Marino on the usage of the word “Allah” on the Bible. It seems that there systematic attacks on Islam and someone is behind it.

Even though there are a lot of people agree with this statement, we believe that all of the acts done by these attackers are those who belong to Christian extremist. The attacks are targeted to the Islamic institution and Muslims all over our country.

Alvin, Vivian and Marino probably do not understand this but they are actually Christian terrorist who are trying to distrupt the peace and harmony of our country. Yes, they did not organized a car bombing or trying taking hostage in a building but their act of mocking the Muslims in the month of Ramadan is much more dangerous than blowing up something.
Recently a young Chinese Christian was kidnapped and beaten was said to have been the retaliation from the act of Alvin, Vivian (and maybe Morino). The incident is correlated and evidently the retaliation came not long after all of the parties involved in mocking the Islamic faith was made public.

We are not saying that all Christians are involved in these acts of terror. We believe that there are a group of people among the Christians are trying to create a difficult situation between the two most influential religions in the world, which is Islam and Christianity.

When there are attacks, there must be a counter attack and finally the country will be in a state of fear. This is what some of these people wants; they are trying to play with fire that can burn us all.

In the Marino case, he was played by the Pakatan Rakyat in the issue because he knows that in this country only the Pakatan Rakyat choses to support the idea of using the word “Allah” in the Malays version of the bible.

We believe that, the authorities in this country are alert with this situation and they will do their best to counter the attacks from Christian terrorist if they actually exist.

BN LEADING FAR AHEAD ON SEVENTH DAY OF CAMPAIGN IN KUALA BESUT

Barisan Nasional (BN) is leading far ahead in the campaing trail in the Kuala Besut state seat by-election as the coalition machinery comb every inch of the ground of some 30km square.

While the coalition’s candidate Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abdul Rahman practically go knocking at every door from 8.30am to evening, PAS candidate Azlan Yusof focuses more on places where there are crowd such as the Ramadhan market and other public markets.

Both candidates apparently do not get involved in nightly ceramahs where leaders of the political divide speak on issues – local and national – as they concentrate more on one-to-one meeting.

After four days of official campaigning, it is no denying that BN is leading far ahead as its operation centre gathers information on headcounts of who will vote for which party.

BN’s modus operandi is more meticulous as the one-to-one marking system it does currently may give a near accurate figure compared to PAS ‘feeling the response’ style.

BN deputy by-election director Datuk Seri Idris Jusuh expressed confidence of higher majority when met where he was walking about at Kuala Besut jetty to Pulau Perhentian, where foreign tourists gather.
“I personally think voters will not change their minds two months after the general election.

“This means we have the 2,000-odd majority in our hands and with the personalize campaign and a young qualified candidate, we should be able to increase the majority,” he said confidently.

And true to his words, PAS by-election director Datuk Husam Musa admitted BN’s election machinery was far ahead for his party to catch up.

“As we can see at present, BN is not using its full force and when they do, things will not be the same.
“Our fear is BN’s full force attack will include money politics which the locals, being poor, will not resist and PAS’s chance of making even is lost,” he added.

BN HAS ‘FIXED DEPOSIT’ IN FHISHERMEN’S VILLAGES

Kampung Nail is a quiet and tranquil village with old small houses along the river mouth of Kuala Besut.
A flat area of some 3km square with narrow tarred roads where only one vehicle can through at one time, it houses some 1,000 population who are mostly fishermen.

As early as 4am the fishermen take to the open sea to catch fishes with some 30-odd trawlers that the government had given them to enable them to have better catch and higher income.

By 8am to 9am, they land their catch at the Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) complex at the mouth of the river where they sell their catch to LKIM and keep some of the catch for their own consumption.
For Mohd Aimi Md Nor, 41, and the rest of the fishermen at his village, it is a daily routine unless during rainy season where they could not go to the sea.

Asked on his daily income, Mohd Aimi said it all depended on the catch of the day which fluctuated from RM100 to even RM1,000.

Asked on average income which he could not figure, he said the income is comfortable for his family of five.
“We are simple people with simple needs and the help the government give make our life better and more comfortable,” he said.

Politically, Mohd Aimi said nearly 80 percent of the villagers supported Umno and BN, the party he described as very helpful and sensitive of their needs.

“I am not a politician and I have no education except till Form 5 so I do not involved myself in politics but I know, and many of us fishermen here know that Umno and BN has always helped us.

“So this by-election, you can expect some 80 percent of the villagers will vote for BN,” he added sincerely.
Yes, what more does the people want when they are pampered by the government.

Malaysia fuel prices eighth lowest in the world

Malaysia's petrol and diesel prices is the eighth lowest in the world.

"Out of 227 countries in the world, Malaysia's petrol and diesel price to its motorists is the eighth lowest," said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan.

He said the cheaper price was due to the significant subsidy given by the government for petrol and diesel as well as cooking gas.

He disclosed this when winding up the debate on the Supplementary Supply Bill (2012) 2013.
Ahmad said the government had given a subsidy of 90.4 sen for each litre of diesel and 90 sen for each litre of RON95 petrol.

He said the people had only to pay RM1.80 per litre of diesel instead of RM2.74, and RM1.80 per litre of RON95 petrol.

"Without the subsidy of 90 sen per litre, the price for RON 95 petrol should be RM2.80 per litre," he said.

Ahmad said cooking gas enjoyed substantial subsidy as well, with a 14-kg cylinder costing RM26.60 instead of the actual price of RM47.46.

"This means that the government is giving a subsidy of RM20.80 per cylinder," he said.

Sex bloggers to be charged on Thursday morning, says KL CID chief

Sex bloggers Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee are expected to be charged in court on Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the pair would be charged at the Sessions Court on Jalan Duta.

When asked whether Tan and Lee had surrendered to police, SAC Ku denied it.
Ku also did not confirm what Act the bloggers would be charged under.

The bloggers were probed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) after posting a controversial Buka Puasa greeting on their Facebook account.

They were also investigated by police for uttering words with the deliberate intent of insulting a religion.

Anwar tendered fake MC in court, alleges his former legal aide

A former legal aide of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has alleged that Anwar duped the court during a trial in September 2012.
M. Yuktesvaran has claimed that the PKR advisor tendered fake a medical certificate (MC) in order to postpone court proceedings over his involvement in the Bersih 3.0 rally.
Yuktesvaran said he did not reveal the matter earlier as he was afraid for his safety and did not want any trouble.

"I decided to break my silence after the Opposition claimed that the elections were rigged," he told reporters after lodging a police report at the Travers police station on Wednesday.

He said he handed evidence on the alleged MC to the police when he lodged the police report.

"What Anwar did is perjury and he should be made liable under Section 193 of the Penal Code," he said.
Anwar, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and Rembau PKR division chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin pleaded not guilty to two charges against them at the Sessions Court here in May 2012 for their involvement in the rally.
They were charged under Section 4(2)(c) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2011 for participating in a street protest, with the intention of disobeying a warning issued by Magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir against the public from assembling at Dataran Merdeka from April 28 to May 1, in a court order on April 26

Making the Best in Ramadan

The Holy month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for all believers to reestablish their relationship with Almighty Allah . During this month, Allah opens the doors of guidance, mercy, and forgiveness and showers His blessings on mankind. Blessed are those who avail this opportunity and work hard to obtain the pleasure of Allah .

Following are some points to remember that may help us have a better Ramadan:

Sahoor: Rasulullah said, “Allah sends blessings on those who eat Sahoor (meal before Fajr) and the angels pray for them.” (Ibn Habban) We should never miss Sahoor as it is blessed food and a Sunnah of the Prophet .

Salat Al-Taraweeh: Perform twenty raka’ah of Taraweeh every night.

Salat Al-Tahajud: Other than Taraweeh, perform some raka’ah of Tahajud prayer.

Dua: After Tahajud, spend some time making Dua for yourself, your family, the community, and the whole Muslim Ummah. This is extremely needed and very few do it. Every person in the family should engage in Dua and prayers in the darkness of the night and in isolation. Cry before Allah for forgiveness and for all of your needs.
Also wake up your children and teach them how to make Dua to Allah . Teach them how to cry before Allah , for those who do not cry before Allah will have to cry before people like themselves.
Crying and begging to Allah attracts His Mercy. Rasulullah encouraged his followers to cry when making Dua.

Salah in the Masjid: Try your best to perform every Salah in the Masjid with congregation (jama’ah)

Perform the additional following ibadah:

1. Recite Istighfaar 100 times a day (i.e. Astaghfirallah)
2. Send blessing on Rasulullah 100 times a day
3. Tasbeehaat 100 times a day (i.e. Subhanallah Wal-Hamdulillah wala Illaha Illallah Wallahu Akbar)
4. Recite at least one Juz of the Qur’an every day
Avoid all kinds of sins: Rasulullah said, “Many of those who fast get nothing out of it except hunger” (Nasa’ee) Advising his wife, once Rasulullah said, “O Aishah, refrain from even the minor sins because Allah will question you about them also.” (Ibn Majah)
Do not become angry: Avoid all quarrels, fights, and arguments which may lead you to anger.
Use only Halal food bought by Halal earnings. Avoid all doubtful items.

Reduce the amount of:

1. Eating
2. Sleeping
3. Talking

Unfortunately, it is very common in many Masajid to sit and chat after iftaar. This time should be used for Nawafil prayers, recitation of the Holy Qur’an, Tasbeeh, and Dua. Masjid is the House of Allah . It must be given its due respect. Disrespecting the house of Allah is disrespect to Allah .
Raising the voice or talking of worldly matters in the Masjid is forbidden. It is the responsibility of every Muslim to maintain the order, silence, respect, and cleanliness in the Masjid.

May Allah bless and guide all of us.

Pakatan leaders in both PAS and DAP are again at loggerheads trying to prove that their respective party is more relevant to Malaysia than the other – once more failing to understand the purpose of a coalition.

The Opposition's heightened state of insecurity was brought to light this week after Deputy Agriculture Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman suggested that DAP could in theory run Malaysia if the party were given more sway over Putrajaya through PAS.

"The sultan is the head of our religion. The agong is a Muslim. If we were to become a republic, DAP Chairman Karpal Singh would then become the President. He would be your chief," he speculated during a visit to the Malay heartland of Terengganu this weekend.

No doubt hoping that Pakatan officials would pick up on his remarks, he teasingly suggested that PAS' desire to reach Putrajaya meant that they would be forced to hold open the door for DAP.

"DAP would work with PAS, but the condition is that they would demand this and demand that. Perhaps they will ask to be the Deputy Prime Minister. Who would that be? Lim Kit Siang, or his son Lim Guan Eng?"

PAS central committee member Dr Dzulkifli Ahmad hit back on Monday, saying it was out of the question that DAP could ever run the country – much less on the back of a hung state assembly.

Last month the ever-desperate sounding DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng said he was planning on a proposal to his PAS 'allies' that they should boycott the Kuala Besut polls.

"This will not affect BN's power in the state," Lim said, claiming that a boycott could send a "strong signal" of their unhappiness.

Of course, Lim's suggestion had nothing to do with his own party's insecurities about their coalition allies and not wanting to cede any more ground to their Islamist allies.

In all, Barisan Nasional took 17 seats in Terengganu at GE13 with BN's candidate Dr A. Rahman defeating Napisah Ismail of PAS with a comfortable majority of 2,434 votes to take Kuala Besut.

As PAS and DAP seek further distance from each other, Lim Guan Eng's party have shown their hand by revealing their fear of a possible PAS-Umno Unity Pact in the state.

If such a pact developed and, worse for Lim, if it spread beyond Terengganu, then the Democratic Action Party's hopes would finally be dashed. It would be the political equivalent of a cold bucket of water over his dreams of being the kingmaker for Seri Perdana.

The Art Of self Insulting By Alvin and Vivian Whore?

It may not be too late to talk about the dysfunctional duo, Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee whom would have their heads on rewards should their Breaking Fast ‘friendly greetings’ reached the Arab world.   But lucky for them to be here in the land where the Muslims have better things to do than entertaining a couple of whores.
We assume that the whore couple are Christians based on their names.  And for that, we thank them for proving to us what ‘good Christians’ are all about.  They could be Buddhist or Atheist but still, it proves that it is not the Muslims who are having ‘problems in heads’ and it is not the Muslims who go around picking fights in this region.

In fact, the Muslims, except from expressing anger in the social media, don’t even lay a hand on them.  So, this proves that the Muslims are not violent too.
I’m not trying to get back at this couple as their immorality and stupidity is beyond anger, almost non-human.  No sane, civilized, human would put themselves at the lowest and proud of it.   I mean, even giggling happily?  It is obvious that they don’t have any sense of morality whatsoever or just don’t have any sense at all.

I don’t know what kind of environment did these two whores grew up in, but even the dumbest person on earth would have some dignity and don’t go around ‘doing it’ in front of everybody.  Even prostitutes know that what they are doing is not something to be proud of and wouldn’t publish it for the world to see.   So, there is no word that could even describe the lowest or the dumbest of human of what Alvin and Vivian Whore are.  Even the word ‘whore’ seems much too ‘decent’ to describe them.

That is why the only word that is close enough to describe the couple could be ‘animals’ as only animals have no shame ‘doing it’ in the open.  But still, animals don’t do it because they are proud of it and they don’t go around insulting people after that.   Therefore, Alvin and Vivian Whore, are less than animals.

And I can’t comprehend the fact that they are not locked-up yet – it must be our system or the people in our system.  These whores are not a couple of retarded who don’t understand what they are doing.  And they can’t get away just because they are inhumanly stupid and immoral?  I mean, they look like humans so they should be treated like human by making them pay for their action.

Assuming that they are Christians, why don’t the Christians do anything about them?  I understand that we just had a visit from Vatican City, maybe we should ask the Pope about what he thinks about these whores. Or maybe we can ask the Pope, since when does Christians allow such action?  And while at that, maybe we can ask him about LGBT too, since some Christians in Malaysia seem to believe that LGBT is part of human rights.

Perhaps, the DAP Evangelist like Hanna Yeoh can help sort it out because as long as I can remember, insulting and immoral acts, what more in the open, are wrong in all religions, not just in Islam.   Except from voicing out your disapproval, why don’t we see any of you pushing for the government to take action on the whores?  Things wouldn’t be the same if it is the Muslims who insulted other religions, right?  All of you would team up and hammered the government until the culprit is finally punished.

Anyway, it is becoming clearer and clearer now that Islam is the only religion that makes sense.

Kuala Besut By-Election: Teachers in Pulau Perhentian Are PAS Agents?

Like we all know, Perhentian Island is a popular tourist destination in Malaysia. It was named as one of the 10 most beautiful Islands in the whole world. The beauty of Perhentian Island sandy beaches and golden shores has attracted thousands of tourist since years ago.

Other than that, Perhentian Island is also one of the 9 voting centre in the Kuala Besut constituency. With 733 registered voters, the Island would be one of the target by both parties who are currently having a showdown in the 24th of July 2013.

Sadly, no one knows that the beauty of Perhentian Island is marred by the low quality education that is currently plaguing the school children.

It was said that the teacher’s attitude is the factor that has created a very low quality of education for these children. The teachers here are said to have been lazy and ignoring their duties to educate and teach the children of Perhentian Island.

From the complaints of the residence, many of the teachers in Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Perhentian spends their time in the main land rather than focusing all of their effort to the education of the children.
.
This particular action clearly caused a serious effect to the education of the children as they did not have enough time to finish their syllabus that has been stated by the Ministry of Education. It was said that some of the teacher, teach the student so fast so that they can spent more time to go to the mainland.

This particular habit is clearly seen in almost all of the teachers especially on Thursdays.
This “accusation” is supported by the UPSR result in 2012 where Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Perhentian is the worst school in Terengganu. Many of the pupils failed their UPSR exam.

Even though we were informed that the government has already spent millions to build teachers quarters in the school, the teachers refuse to stay there and they are willing to travel from the main land. They prefer to stay in Kuala Besut.

There are statements made by the locals saying the the majority of the teachers in the Perhentian Island are PAS members and they consider the help from the government will only burden them with sins.

This particular thinking is not strange in PAS as we all know that PAS members are thought to ridicule and hate the government, even though the government is trying its best to help them.
This particular incident has been forwarded by the locals, however, because of all the teachers are PAS members their letters and emails are thrown in the rubbish bin as soon as it is received by the recipient.

The Ministry of Education has to take this seriously and investigate what is happening in the Perhantian Island to ensure that the future of the children is not jeopardise because of the lack of formal education.

If it is proven, then the opportunity in the by election should be use smartly by the federal government to improve the quality of teachers to ensure that BN will always gain the support of the people.
