Malaysia wins AFF-Suzuki Cup on 4-2 aggregate; PM declares Friday a public holiday

JAKARTA: Malaysia has won the AFF-Suzuki Cup on a 4-2 aggregate. Indonesia won the second leg of the final 2-1 in Jakarta on Wednesday night while Malaysia had won the first leg 3-0 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The scorers for Indonesia were Mohammad Ridwan (87th minute) and Mohammad Nasuha (71st). Safee Sali had scored in the 53rd minute to put Malaysia 1-0 in the lead.
It was a significant success for Malaysia as the last time the senior national team became champions in a regional competition was at the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
t was also the first time in the AFF Championships since 1996 that Malaysia has become champions.
To make it a grand night for Malaysia, Safee won the Golden Boot award with five goals to his name. The striker was on target twice in the first leg.
Later Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak declared Friday, Dec 31, a public holiday in recognition of our team's AFF-Suzuki Cup triumph.
Malaysia started with the same line-up that was fielded in the first leg, except for midfielder Mohd Amirulhadi Zainal and right-back Mahali Jasuli, who were suspended. The duo were replaced by Mohd Ashaari Shamsuddin and Mohd Sabree Abu respectively.
The Indonesians were without their inspirational flanker Okto Maniani, who was also out on suspension while striker Yongky Ari Bowo was out with an injury. Their replacements were Arif Suyono and Irfan Bachdim respectively.
As expected, Indonesia came charging from the starting whistle but the Malaysian defence led by Mohd Muslim Ahmad and Mohd Fadhli Shas did well to keep a tight leash on Indonesian dangermen Christian Gonzales and Irfan Bachdim.
But a lapse of concentration inside the box resulted in Indonesia winning a penalty in the 15th minute, when Mohd Sabree handled the ball.
However, much to the disappointment of the Indonesian fans, skipper Firman Utina’s tame kick was saved by Malaysian goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
The Indonesians, who were desperate for an early goal, kept on pressing for the opening goal but Khairul Fahmi proved to be a stumbling block, denying at least five attempts at goal before the half-time break.
Malaysia took the lead against the run of play in the 53rd minute, when Ashaari sent a long through ball for Safee to chase, and the Selangor hitman scored a clinical goal.
Despite being a goal down, Indonesia never gave up and their persistence paid off as defender Mohammad Nasuha pounced on a loose ball from goalkeeper Khairul’s save to hit the roof of the net in the 71st minute.
Then with the clock ticking away, Muhammad Ridwan scored from a goal-mouth melee in the 87th minute but this was not enough to deny Malaysia the AFF-Suzuki Cup.

tunku : WELL DONE MALAYSIA.these young boys had made the malaysian feel proud.we have won it at bukit jalil with full dignity and that was enough.in jakarta despite all the psychological warfare played by the indonesia side, our boys did well too though they lost 2-1.overall it was a fantastic display by our team.we hope this victory is not the end for us but the beginning of our football future.it should be the starting point of our football to go to the higher level.SYABAS and MALAYSIA BOLEH.

Gobalakrishnan insists newly-minted vice-president N Surendran is not even a party member

The war of words between the Padang Serai MP from PKR, N Gobalakrishnan, and the party leadership rages on, with the former casting doubts over the legitimacy of the recent appointments in the party.
NONEHoning in on newly-minted vice-president N Surendran - a relative political novice - Gobalakrishnan had questioned his credentials, insisting that he is not even a party member.
“It makes me wonder how Surendran was appointed when he was not even a member of the party. I question his integrity when he speaks about the PKR election,” said Gobalakrishnan (more popularly known as Gobala).
The former MIC Youth leader also alleged that Surendran - a human rights lawyer - did not vote during the recently-concluded party elections.
“His name doesn't appear in the voters' list of the Lembah Pantai cabang where he claims to be a member or any other cabang in the country.
“Can he show proof of where he voted or at least produce three witnesses who have seen him voting or attend the divisional annual general meeting? Then again, I know that there are means to slot his name or any name in the voters list if (PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim) wishes to do so,” he said snidely in a statement this morning.
Trouble started between Gobalakrishnan and the party when he had openly supported former PKR leader Zaid Ibrahim in alleging that the party elections had been riddled with malpractices and fraud.
However, it intensified after the announcement of the new party appointments which saw the Indian quota for vice-presidency going to Surendran, who until now had never held any party position.
Gobalakrishnan had then took to Twitter, hurling vitriol at the party leaders, namely Anwar and deputy president Azmin Ali, claiming that they do not care about the welfare of the Indian community.
'But I am not ranting'
Claiming that his tweets were not “rants”, Gobalakrishnan insisted that his statements were also “not vague, baseless or unproductive”.
“I do not have any personal agenda or gain in all that I do. I always strive for justice for all especially the downtrodden Indian community. This has been my struggle since I started my political career in MIC about 23 years ago,” he said.
He had also challenged the party to address several Indian issues including reopening the Hindu Sivan Temple in Bukit Gasing as well as the poor estate workers in the Coalfields estates.
Claiming that Anwar had shut down construction of the temple within just 100 days of Pakatan Rakyat helming the Selangor state government, Gobalakrishnan said that it was due to the “dragon fencing”.
“This problem existed during the BN rule in Selangor but they did not go to the extreme of closing the temple! Being a successful human rights lawyer, I challenge Mr Surendran to assist to open the temple to the devotees for the New Year,” he said.
It was previously reported back in 2009 in The Sun that a stop-work order was issued on the temple in 2007 because of safety concerns on the landslope development. Only an area of 1,400 sq m was approved for the temple but the final plans showed it occupying 5,400 sq m.
Gobalakrishnan had also claimed that the Coalfields estate workers are being evicted from their quarters without compensation.
“The above are only a very few of the many problems faced by the Indian community in the country which Anwar is not bothered to assist. He doesn't care about the Indian community,” he said.
“If any disciplinary action should be taken, it should be against Anwar first for closing the Bukit Gasing Sivan temple and (Selangor exco member) Xavier Jayakumar for using gangsterism during the recent PKR elections,” he said.

tunku : gobala still don't know who is the moron anwar.if he knew anwar, he won't complaint as this is the character of anwar.he only gives to his cronies and the chosen one.gobala is not the favourite one any longer.it is best for gobala to join zaid ibrahim.i am sure gobala can be the vice president of KITA.anwar has cheated the indians big time.

TBS-BTS Terminal: Another Modern Landmark Of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 (Bernama) -- The new integrated transport terminal in Bandar Tasik Selatan here, which starts operating on Jan 1, will make life more comfortable for commuters.
While improving the public transportation service, the RM570 million terminal will ease traffic congestion in the city centre.
A Bernama check found that the terminal is equipped with advanced features, including centralised 24-hour customer service facilities, e-ticketing counters, public information display systems, dedicated halls for arrivals and departures, an executive lounge, suraus and WiFi service. It even has rooms for changing nappies.
The terminal also caters for the disabled, with directional tiles, lowered counters and special toilets, elevators and ramps.
Covering 19.8 hectares, the six-floor terminal has 55 bus platforms, 150 taxi bays, 1,000 parking bays (with special parking bays for women) and 1,800 seats for the public in its fully air-conditioned waiting halls.
The terminal is to help attain the transport ministry target of increasing the use of public transportation in the Klang Valley to 25 per cent in 2012 from the present 16 per cent.
MAJU Terminal Management and Services managing director Roslan Mohd Shariff said the terminal is a continuation of the Kuala Lumpur Sentral project -- only bigger.
"If the terminal is a success, it will be a model for other transport terminals in Malaysia and Southeast Asia," he told Bernama.
He said the three-colour stripes on the terminal's logo symbolised the transport systems available -- the Rapid KL LRT, Express Rail Link and the KTM Komuter.
Apart from the trains, inter-city buses and taxis are available at the terminal, which is linked to the Sungai Besi Expressway, North-South Expressway and the Middle Ring Road II.
For security, the terminal is installed with 500 closed-circuit television cameras and has 250 auxiliary policemen attached to it.
"Green technology is widely used at the terminal, especially in the lighting system. It also has a central vacuum system that ensures all rubbish be disposed at the right place," he said.
A 66-year-old visitor, Kanafiah Kami, declared himself very impressed.
"It's really nice, beautiful and spacious and will be a tourist attraction," he said.
The auxiliary policemen around added to his sense of security.
A trader at the terminal, Syahruban Mohammad, said the location was strategic and the surroundings were beautiful and clean.

tunku : indeed it is a proud of modern Malaysia.we hope all the buses not just the south bound buses will be stationed there.for those who still don't know where the location is, it is situated at the bandar tasik selatan lrt, erl, komuter station.we hope the authority will make sure smooth traffic flow to this place as it is a heavy traffic flow right area as for now.

100-Day Reform: Wait For Opposition To Rule, Says Nik Aziz

KOTA BAHARU, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has asked Barisan Nasional (BN) to wait for the opposition pact to take over the federal government before their 100-day reform plan unveiled at the recent Pakatan Rakyat convention, can be implemented.
"We will implement it when Pakatan is able to rule the country. Just wait. Don't be like a gangster," he said after a mass wedding organised by the state government for 101 couples at the Kelantan PAS training centre, here, Saturday.
Nik Aziz, who is also Kelantan Menteri Besar, was responding to Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyidin Yassin's challenge yesterday for Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to raise the salary of civil servants in opposition-ruled states by RM500.
Among the 10-point resolutions passed at the convention was to raise the salary of civil servants by RM500 within 100-days in the event the opposition pact could take over Putrajaya.
Nik Aziz said what was important in administering the country was ensuring prosperity for the people.
He said PAS would implement Islamic administration according to its own mould based on stipulated Islamic rulings if it came into power.
On the mass wedding, Nik Aziz said he was against parents imposing a big amount of dowry on the bridegroom to make marrying affordable.
"When I got married, I only gave my wife RM100 in dowry. In fact, if anyone wants to marry my daughter, I will only ask for RM1,000," he added.
Nik Aziz said marriage was important to prevent social ills such as illicit sex and dumping of babies.

tunku: another big lie from the senile old man.what has he implemented in kelantan after 20 years? the last GE promises yet to be fulfilled and now more lies from them.the senile old man said that pas would implement Islamic administration according to its own mould based on stipulated Islamic rulings if it came into power but pkr and dap has stated that they will not support any Islamic state implementation.even nizar had said in Perak state assembly that Islamic state and hudud in not in any of pas agendas.i guess the senile old man should get a full medical check up as he is gone senile very badly.

Pakatan Rakyat fear of 1Malaysia logo

Trader Hurt By Order To Remove Logo

BANTING, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- A part owner of a convenience store here said he felt hurt by the order he received from the Kuala Langat District Council to remove the 1Malaysia on his sign board.
K.Thiyagarajan, 26, said that he and his partners received the directive on Dec 15 and were given seven days to comply.
The deadline was yesterday, but the logo remained on the board this morning.
Thiyagarajan said he was not involved in politics, and 1Malaysia seemed to him a good programme to bring people together.
"I feel as though Selangor has been expelled from Malaysia. What others in the country do, we in Selangor cannot do," he said.
Thiyagarajan has two partners, V.Muniandy, 29, and Mohd Afiq Mohd Tuniman, 24.
He wonders why the logo has to be removed since traders pay for advertising licence, and there was no problems before this.
The Selangor government has banned the use of the 1Malaysia logo on billboards, saying that it carried a political message which was not allowed in advertising.

tunku : this is a moron way of playing politics.why do the selangor government ban the use of the 1Malaysia logo on billboards? may be they have nightmares after looking at the logo.this shows that these people are not confident and using force to the people not to accept something.now we know that 1Malaysia concept is a good concept which is accepted by the majority, that is why these morons fear of the concept.

Utusan’s got 14 days to apologise to Guan Eng

GEORGE TOWN, Dec 22 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has given Utusan Malaysia two weeks to apologise before he takes the daily to court.
Lim’s lawyer, Jagdeep Singh Deo, told reporters today he had sent a letter of demand to the national Malay newspaper yesterday asking it to withdraw certain words said to be slanderous in its December 20 article titled “Kebiadaban Guan Eng (The Rudeness of Guan Eng)”.
Utusan had said to have called Lim a racist and an “anti-Malay” in the article that ran a day after the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) rally.
Lim (picture) who is the party’s secretary-general also wants the paper to publish an apology and pay compensation for defaming him.
Jagdeep said Lim had denied the allegations in his notice of demand.
“He has also not gone against the Malays or oppressed them, did not cancel the Maulidur Rasul procession or stop the Malays from trading in Komtar during Ramadan month and has not demolished any villages,” said the lawyer who is also the state DAP vice-chairman,.
“Neither has the chief minister used funds from the Penang Turf Club for the senior citizens’ appreciation programme,” Jagdeep added.
Lim had vowed personal court action against the Umno-owned daily for allegedly calling him a foreign stooge and urging the DAP be banned.
“These are lies printed by Utusan,” the first-term Penang chief minister told The Malaysian Insider two days’ ago.
“I have no choice but to take a civil suit for defamation against Utusan,” Lim said, adding his party would also file a separate defamation suit against the paper.
Jagdeep said Lim had sent Utusan Malaysia five letters of demand since 2008.
One defamation suit has already been filed in court, he added.

tunku : they can say anything to others but others cannot touch them, this is the style of dap's politic.well they are adopting the style from their mentors in singapore. let see how many cases he brings to court.i wonder if the government adopt their way, there will be thousands of defamation suits in court by now against the opposition.

Pas to drop Islamic state and hudud issues for good.....

Karpal: Pakatan Must Discuss Islamic State Issue

DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh said the issue of Islamic state should be urgently discussed by the Pakatan Rakyat as he does not want the BN to exploit the issue at the coming general election.
Karpal (left), who spoke during Pakatan's second convention wrap up session, said the DAP can discuss the issue with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan menteri besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
The Bukit Gelugor MP was the only Pakatan leader who raised the controversial issue at the convention.
However, the veteran lawyer, who advised PAS not to repeatedly say that the constitution allows for an Islamic state, found his suggestions well received by the mostly Malay Muslim audience at the convention.
"I would like to advise PAS to defend the non-Malays' right to freedom of religion just as PAS defends Islam as the official religion of the country under the constitution," he said.
"Please give 'face' a bit to DAP," said Karpal in jest, drawing laughter from the crowd.
During his speech, Karpal touched on various issues including Anwar's suspension from Parliament recently and the conduct of the judge in the latter's sodomy case.
The 1,800 crowd who were still glued to their seats at the end of the convention were very receptive towards Karpal's speech, clapping enthusiastically at his jokes and capping his speech with a standing ovation.

tunku : i am sure at the end of karpal's speech the shouted "takbir" as usual. i have read some of the blogs saying that karpal's supported Islamic state but actually its not.in fact karpal had asked pas the drop their Islamic state and hudud agenda and the crowd seems to agree with it.karpal said he agrees with Islam as the official religion of Malaysia.well he has to agree with that as it is stipulated in the constitution.that means pas indirectly has drop the Islamic state and hudud agendas and they should not lie to the people anymore.

Cracks Deepening, More Will Leave Opposition Parties - Mustapa

KOTA BAHARU, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- The cracks in the Opposition will only deepen before resulting in a real split when more leaders and members quit because they have lost confidence in their top leadership, especially that of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Kelantan Umno liaison chief Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said some PAS followers had also started losing confidence in the PKR leadership, and he felt if PAS continued to work with PKR, more and more PAS and PKR leaders and members would leave their party after realising who PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim really was.
"Just look at PKR, many of the leaders including some of its Members of Parliament have left the party and the problem will only get worse."
Mustapa, who is also International Trade and Industry Minister, said this to reporters after the opning of the Learning Centre of the School of Professional and Continuing Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTMSpace), here.
Mustapa said PKR and PAS should also realise the role of DAP and PAP in Singapore as both had close relations as indicated by certain damning statements made by PAP leaders which were exposed by WikiLeaks.

tunku: i just can't understand pas who called themselves Islamic party can associates themselves with dap adn pkr who is totally against of pas's islamic state agenda.till today pas still telling its members that they will uphold islamic state but at the same time they becomes puppet of dap and pkr.pkr too has lied to everyone in pakatan and even worst they have lied to their own members especially the indians.dap has always been a family affairs.these three parties will never be able to rule this country successfully.they had failed in kedah, penang, selangor and kelantan.

Opposition Leaders Poison Investment Climate, Says Mustapa

KOTA BAHARU, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- The people should reject leaders of the opposition, who tried to poison the country's investment climate, said International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
He said such leaders put the country in a bad light by spreading lies and tried to create chaos.
"We do not want our country to be perceived as unsafe for investment due to uncalled for attempts by certain quarters with vested interest.
"We want the people to be united, live in peace and prosper," he told reporters after opening an entrepreneurial seminar, exhibition and clinic organised by Gabungan Muda Berjaya here Saturday.
He said the transformation drive undertaken by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had borne fruit and the people should work together to achieve the goals of becoming a high-income developed country.

tunku : the opposition in other countries attack the their government ruling party but never jeopardize the country's image or economy but here in Malaysia the opposition even can sell the country just to topple the ruling government.these people are traitors.they do not love their country.the people must reject them.

Opposition Pact Plans To Take Legal Action

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The opposition pact plans to take legal action against Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia after Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and another three opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) were suspended from attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting for six months.
The Member of Parliament for Bukit Gelugor, Karpal Singh (DAP) said the decision to go to court was taken after they were not given an opportunity to give clarification during the debate on the motion for the suspension.
"We may take it to court. There is a precedence in the case of Gobind Singh where we took in fact the Speaker, Pandikar Amin himself. The court has ruled that in certain circumstances, especially when the rules of natural justice is not complied with, then the court has the jurisdiction.
"It's so blatant that it (the action of the Speaker) cannot in any way be defended. We want a judicial ruling on that so we can't let him get away with this. We don't want this to become a precedence in the future," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby, here Thursday.
The Dewan Rakyat today passed the motion to suspend Anwar (PKR-Permatang Pauh) from attending its sitting for six months for making a statement linking the 1Malaysia concept with the One Israel campaign.
Also suspended were Karpal Singh, R.Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) and Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak) for several breaches.
Karpal and Sivarasa were said to have breached the Standing Order 85 which states that evidence taken before any Select Committee and documents presented to it shall not be published by any member before the committee has presented its report to the House.
Azmin, through the letter of notification dated Dec 6, 2010 under the Standing Order 18(1) had touched on the statement and letter submitted during the Meeting of the Rights and Special Privileges Committee on Dec 3, 2010.
Meanwhile, Anwar said he would use the PKR-DAP-PAS pact convention to be held in Penang on Dec 19 to explain to the public on his suspension as well as that of the other three MPs.

tunku:it seems like karpal's brain is not functioning well nowadays. his legal action against the speaker will be rejected by the court as the parliament held the power to expel members for improper conduct.sometimes they think they are smart but actually a bunch of morons.they have shown a very low standard of an mp's attitude in the parliament yesterday.so unprofessional of them especially their leader.do read about the lies by the opposition about apco by yb zul.

Autonomy For Sarawak Just Fantasy Of PKR's Mat Jenin - Rosnah

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- The Puteri Umno chief has described Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Azmin Ali's statement that Sarawak would be given autonomy, should the opposition come into power, as a "fantasy of Mat Jenin who could not keep his feet on the ground".
Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said the statement was only intended to mislead the public, especially the people of Sarawak.
In Malay folklore, Mat Jenin is depicted as a dreamer.
Rosnah said PKR leaders were willing to do anything, including promising the moon and the stars, just to regain support after the party was deluged with problems, including the crisis of confidence for the existing leadership.
"The promises made by the opposition leaders, including to give autonomy to Sarawak, are absurd.
"Everyone knows Sarawak is rich in mineral and natural resources, which will not be disposed off easily by PKR as it had been waiting to take control of such a rich state," she said in a statement here Wednesday.
Thus, Rosnah advised Azmin and the opposition leadership, especially PKR, to stop dreaming of something that would never become theirs.

tunku : they (pakatan) will promise anything just to fool the sarawakian to vote for them.they know that sarawak is a rich state, if they can get the state that means the will have lots of cash at their disposable and not for the sarawakian.we can see what's happening in selangor, penang, kedah and kelantan.the revenue of those states is decreasing. what the sarawakian should know is that, sarawak is huge state and to develop the state needs good management and lots of resources.the pakatan will never be able to increase the income and they will spend more than they can earn. sarawak will be in huge deficit.do not jeopardise your future.BN is still the best government for sarawak.

WikiLeaks: Anwar plans to sue Dr Mahathir, media

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will file a suit against former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his comments on the WikiLeaks cable controversy.
When contacted Tuesday, Anwar's lawyer Sankara Nair confirmed that Anwar would be filing a suit against Dr Mahathir and that they were still gathering further information for "possible suits against several other individuals and certain newspapers.
"There are no further details at the moment.
"We are checking the authenticity of The Sun-Herald story which was published in Australia as our initial investigations show that their story was not based on any WikiLeaks story," he said Tuesday.
When asked if Anwar would also be filing a suit against Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, he replied: "Until now, there have been no instructions from my client to sue Lee Kuan Yew."
However, he added that he was checking on certain facts in Australia, and would then advice his client accordingly.
He also said that they had contacted the Singaporean Deputy High Commissioner, and were still awaiting a response.
"I will be writing in officially tomorrow (Wednesday) asking for a response," he said.

tunku : he just lost a case with cost against Tun Mahathir recently and still trying his luck again.the actual reason he want to sue Tun and the medias is that the court will issue a gag order on his sodomy trial and no one is allowed to talk it outside court.this way he will be secured and not being worried of more his secret comes out openly.i wonder why most of the muslim lawyers are quitting from his defense team.is there a clear sign to them? keep suing anwar, you ended up paying all the costs.

Karpal: Singapore’s allegations of Anwar’s ‘set-up’ is in contempt

KUALA LUMPUR: The leaked US diplomatic cable stating that Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy charge and trial “was a set-up job” and that he had “walked into it” is sub judice and a contempt of court, his lawyers said.
Anwar’s counsel Karpal Singh said that it was “no doubt, contempt of court”.
“Now we have to confirm with the Singapore government if what was reported is in fact true.
“But it is sub judice, as it is a pre-judgment of a trial which has yet to be concluded,” Karpal said yesterday.
Karpal said he would act once his client instructed him. Anwar is currently abroad.
In a press statement, Anwar’s other lawyer Sankara Nair said that checks with their Australian counterparts have indicated “that no such references were made by WikiLeaks”.
“To the allegation that ‘it was a set-up job and he probably knew that, but walked into it anyway’ as was supposedly quoted by the media, our simple answer to that is: which man in his sane and right mind would deliberately walk into a trap if he has prior knowledge of it?” he asked.
However, Umno legal adviser and lawyer Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun said he did not see the leaks as subjudicial to the current trial.
“The issues brought up (in the cable leak) is something which is outside the sphere of the courts and is not relevant to the ongoing trial,” he said.
Anwar has become the latest personality to be embroiled in the WikiLeaks cable controversy when a leaked diplomatic cable showed that the Australian and Singaporean intelligence agencies discussed his latest sodomy charges and trial.
The PKR leader, however, refuted the allegations via his Twitter account on Sunday, saying “Source? Polis SB Msia. Bukti tak ada” (Who is the source? Malaysian police special branch. There’s no proof).

tunku : anwar will only say there's no proof but never says i did not do it. for the contempt of court issue,it is another tactic by anwar's defense team as they always waits opportunity like this to delay the case.they asked which man in his sane and right mind would deliberately walk into a trap if he has prior knowledge of it, well when anwar see "something", the like of saiful etc, he automatically become insane and will try his best to get it no matter what. that is what "he walked into it" all about.this is open secret mr karpal singh, do not delay the case any longer.if the moron is really innocent, why there is fear all around?

Wikileaks: Singapore Intelligence Services Agreed Anwar did it.

Anwar is first Malaysian ‘victim’ of Wikileaks

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has become the first Malaysian “victim” of WikiLeaks.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported Sunday that leaked US state department cable revealed that Singaporean intelligence officials told their Australian counterparts that Anwar had engaged in the conduct for which he was accused of, and that his sodomy charges were the result of a “set-up job”.
However, the Opposition Leader tweeted his comments later Sunday, saying: “Source? Polis SB Msia. Bukti tak ada (Who is the source? Malaysian police special branch. There’s no proof of any such thing)”.
According to the Herald, the cable, dated November 2008, was one of several that dealt with the explosive private views of senior Singaporean officials.
Issued to Fairfax newspapers by WikiLeaks, the cable stated, “The Australians said that Singapore’s intelligence services ... told [the Office of National Intelligence] in their exchanges that [Mr Anwar] ‘did indeed commit the acts for which he is currently indicted’.’’
It added that the Singaporeans told the office they made this assessment on the basis of “technical intelligence’’ which most likely meant intercepted communications.
The office also said that Anwar’s political enemies had engineered the circumstances from which the sodomy charges arose.
‘’[The office] assessed, and their Singapore counterparts concurred, ‘it was a set-up job and he probably knew that, but walked into it anyway’,’’ the cable stated, according to the paper.

tunku : there's no doubt, anwar has been doing it(sodomy act). it is in his blood.most of the people who are close to him knew this, even the wife knew it but pretend that the husband is saint. people like hadi awang knew it too, that is why hadi awang never comments on anwar's sodomy charges.

Pakatan can't even have a common logo?

Pakatan unlikely to have common logo

GEORGE TOWN: It is unlikely that the three parties in Pakatan Rakyat will come out with a common logo for the next general election, PAS central committee member Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said.
He said it was difficult as Pakatan needed to be registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) first and with just three parties in the alliance, the application might not be approved.
Since 2008, Pakatan has failed to register itself as a political entity similar to the Barisan Nasional coalition because the group only had three parties while a minimum of seven was required by the ROS.
This has made the loosely- based alliance to often run foul of Election Commission rules during by-elections, when all three parties put up their respective flags and banners instead of only the contesting party.
Dr Mujahid said a status quo was likely for the three parties in the group when they contest in the next general election.
Many have speculated that the elections will be held next year.
“We would likely see PAS, PKR and DAP using their own respective logos in campaign materials and on ballot papers.
“I do not think it is a setback as most voters know who we are,” he told a press conference yesterday.
On the upcoming Pakatan convention, Dr Mujahid said Pakatan would send 1,800 delegates, consisting of 600 each from the three components while 200 places had been allocated to non-governmental organisations, Pakatan-friendly individuals and observers, including the media.

tunku : these are all excuses.try to register first and if it is not approved then you said we can't get the approval.without doing anything they already started giving excuses.the main reason is they have different agendas, different visions and different thinking. these three idiots group that is pas,pkr dan dap is out there to fools people, thats all. how can they rule this country when simple things like this they can't decide? may be they can have the picture above as their common logo.

Nazri fan of namewee

Rapper Namewee not racist but "grossly misunderstood": Nazri

KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial rapper Namewee is not a racist but a young man who has been "grossly misunderstood" and misrepresented by the media.
"He has done nothing wrong which may be considered an offence under any laws in this country," Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz told a press conference at his office in Parliament here Thursday.
The rapper, whose name is Wee Meng Chee, was also present.
Wee had previously made a video, using obscene language, criticising a headmistress in Kulaijaya who allegedly made racist remarks during a school assembly on Aug 12.
Although many were upset that no action was taken against Wee over the clip, Nazri said he had looked into the case and agreed with the Attorney-General's Chambers that Wee had not committed any chargeable offence.
"The only person who can take any action against him is the headmistress as she is the only aggrieved party," he said.
Nazri added that Wee was not even a politician and should not be "dragged into something that he didn't want to be involved in at the first place".
"He's only interested in music and how it can spread messages to his peers," Nazri said.
"He has explained to me what he has done and I think he has potential. If we can help him, he will be able to become an artiste one day," he added.
Nazri said Wee fully supported the 1Malaysia concept propagated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
On Wee wanting to meet Najib after being denied funds by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) to make a 1Malaysia-themed movie, Nazri said he would inform the Prime Minister about the matter during the Cabinet meeting Friday.
Wee later read out a statement to the press, saying he was a patriotic Malaysian and expressing regret that the mainstream media had highlighted his controversial videos, instead of others which showed his love for the country.
"I admit that some of the videos are controversial but I have no intention of hurting anybody's feelings. If I have offended anybody, please accept my apology," he said, adding that he had no political agenda.

tunku : bravo nazri....you are the best minister in najib's cabinet. we hope the people will show their love to you in this coming GE. i just wish the people will spit on his face. we hope najib will not see this idiot namewee , do not anger the people.just shut nazri's mouth before he opens it to talk to you about namewee.

Sodomy Case: Anwar Brings Independent Australian MP Who Supports Gay Marriage To Be Observer

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has brought Independent MP Senator Nick Xenophon from Southern Australia to be an observer at his ongoing sodomy trial.
Introducing the MP to the media at Parliament's lobby Wednesday, Anwar said besides witnessing the trial, Xenophon would also be having discussions with Malaysian Opposition MPs and community leaders.
"...but since the trial has been postponed due to our application to recuse High Court Judge Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah from continuing to preside over the case, he decided to be here in Parliament to observe some proceedings and also hold discussions," Anwar said.
Xenophon, who was among 50 Australian lawmakers who had called for the sodomy charge against Anwar to be dropped in February, said the trial was being followed closely by the world community.

tunku : who else can support a sodomizer if not the people from the same circle.nick xenophon is also anwar's type. it is a big shame that anwar can only have supports from these groups.may be nick will have a "good time" with anwar during this trial.

Perak Sultan Regrets Malays Questioning Special Status

KUALA KANGSAR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah said that questioning the status of Islam and the special rights of the Malays in this country were actions that disregarded history and were in conflict with the Federal Constitution.
The Sultan said if the Malays themselves questioned these, they had actually insulted and were traitors to their own race.
"The legacy of the Malay Rulers was part of the agreement that formed the basis for formulating the constitution after independence. The Malay Rulers who sit on their thrones today are not just inheriting the power to rule but also the responsibilities towards Islam and the Malay race, ensuring that the legacy continues."
Speaking at the launching of the state-level Ma'al Hijrah celebration at the Kolej Islam Darul Ridzuan hall here, the Sultan quoted some wise sayings to remind the Malays not to commit actions that would be wasteful or disadvantageous for their own community.
"It would be most unfortunate for the race and religion if real history is erased and the facts altered.
"If this is allowed to go on, it would be pointless to regret if one day the Malays find themselves marginalised and Islam relegated to the periphery."
The Sultan said the Malay Muslims should learn from the fall of the Islamic empire; the defeat of the Muslim army in several wars due to disunity among the Muslims themselves.
"Be aware that the special rights of the Malay Muslims in this country were the result of strategic thinking to ensure continued protection for them and these rights are guaranteed by statutes, and that Islamic activities could flourish and receive state funding."
The Sultan also reminded Muslims to use the Ma'al Hijrah celebration as an occasion for some soul-searching so as not to repeat mistakes, to reduce egoism and to seek divine guidance to the blessed path.
At the function, the Sultan also presented the Perak Tokoh Maal Hijrah 1432 award to Megat Riduan Megat Taib, 76, a former principal assistant director of the Education Division, Perak Islamic Religious Department.
Megat Riduan had also been instrumental in setting up integrated Quran and Fardhu Ain classes with the Sekolah Agama Rakyat in the state.

tunku : the malays should realize that all the privileges they have been getting won't last if they let leaders like anwar and others in pakatan rule this country.before they can rule, they already talking about changing the constitution.these traitors can only harm the nation.the non malays too should not take this thing as an advantage to them because if the majority(malays) in a country is not taken care off then the country will not be stable. this will bring chaos in the country.we don't want this to happen in malaysia. the constitution have been fair to all and we should respect it.do not listen to some politicians that just crazy for power. for them the nation come last, they come first.we should reject them once for all.

Khir Toyo quits as S'gor Opposition leader

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo has relinquished his post as state Opposition Leader with immediate effect.
Dr Khir, who is a state Umno liaison committee member, wrote in his blog www.drkhir.com Monday that he would leave it to the leadership to decide on his position in the party.
"If it is too much of a trouble, I am willing to step down but as an assemblyman, I will continue to discharge my duties on any platform until the court decides (on my case)," he said.
He was charged in the Sessions Court here Monday with graft over two plots of land in Section 7 here and pleaded not guilty. - Bernama

tunku : it is the best decision by dr khir.if he stays as opposition leader, his credibility will be questioned in the dun.the best is for him to get on with the court case and clear things out.dr khir is a brave leader who does not put power as his priority.when BN lost selangor, he took the blame and resign as BN and Umno state chief.now that he has chance for himself to clear his name in the court once and for all.not like the moron anwar ibrahim, though he has the court case of SODOMY charge, he still insist of holding position.he should be ashamed.

Najib: Opposition leadership is anti-national

KUALA LUMPUR: The leadership of the opposition parties are actually struggling to achieve certain objectives to gain power and are bound to resolving their personal problems to the extent that they are prepared to deceive the people, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said. The Prime Minister said that based on this reality, the people and leaders of Barisan Nasional must be wary because the opposition leaders were prepared to do anything to achieve their objectives including tarnishing Malaysia's image abroad.
"Beware everyone, they are very dangerous. I want to point out here, they are anti-national.
"We must go all out and ensure that this country is not destroyed by their evil activities," he said at the Barisan Nasional Convention.
Najib, who Barisan chairman, said the efforts by the opposition parties to try and emulate the Barisan in terms of cooperation involving all the component parties representing the various races were pointless because they did not have the formula for sincerity, vision and values that were shared together.
"Just look at the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), from their line-up of seven top leadership, only one represents the Chinese.
"Meanwhile, the Indians who represent their second largest membership with more than 20% of the total, do not have even one representative at the top party level," he said.
Najib said the opposition parties also tried to emulate Umno by introducing a new type of election for their leadership to the extent that the opposition parties were becoming uncomfortable and chaotic.
"We understand that they are following the English saying 'imitation is the best form of flattery'.
"It is very obvious, whenever we make political changes and reforms which are internal in nature, it scares them to the extent that they become chaotic and want to copy.
"The lesson here is that when other people want to copy, certainly what we are doing is correct," he said.
Najib also touched on the integrity of the opposition parties that was actually being doubted by the party members themselves.

tunku : no doubt the pakatan will destroyed this country by their evil activities.they do not have same objective, they have separate agendas.parties with different agendas will never be able to rule a country with stability both politically and economically.the country will be in chaotic situation.the people should reject them.

BN component parties should not postpone party election.

BN component parties to postpone party election?

KUALA LUMPUR, Saturday 4 December 2010 (Bernama) -- As Umno, Barisan Nasional's biggest component party, has decided to postpone its party election scheduled next year to up to 18 months, the grapevine has it that several component parties might follow suit.
Gerakan is one of them. The party is scheduled to hold its party election next year.
"The CC (Gerakan Central Committee) will meet on Dec 18 to discuss this matter. Before that, the CWC (Central Working Committee) will also discuss this matter," its deputy president Datuk Chang Ko Youn told Bernama.
He said Gerakan had postponed its party election once in 2007, due to the 12th General Election which was held in early March 2008, and the party election was only carried out after that.
"There are different views on this matter but generally, some leaders felt it is better for the party to postpone its election to minimise infighting. If there is party election next year, everyone will be fighting for positions, right from the division up to the central leadership.
"That's why, we believe, it is better for us to postpone the party election so that everyone can focus on the general election, which will be very crucial for the party's revival," he said.
For the MCA, the second largest component party in the coalition, the party election next year will be carried out on schedule, unless the party's powerful decision-making body, the central committee, decides otherwise.
Secretary-General Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said: "The party election is still on schedule... there is no plan so far, to defer the party election.
"However, the CC still has the final say. If we want to postpone the party election, there is a certain requirement we have to address first before we can do that," he said.
MCA Central Committee member Datuk Ti Lian Ker explained that under the party constitution, the party election could only be postponed if there was a general election and that too, it could only be postponed for a certain period.
"Moreover, under the constitution, we can't simply postpone our party election as there is a certain provision which states that it can only be postponed after three and half years from the date of the last general election.
Technically, we can only do that by next September," he said.
Ti said it was still too early for the party leadership to decide on the matter but some members believe the MCA Central Committee meeting on Dec 13 would provide some indication even though the matter was raised in the previous meeting.
In 2007, the MCA had postponed its party election at all levels until the general election concluded in March 2008, where Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat was elected president and Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, his deputy.
However, the party was embroiled in internal crisis until a fresh poll, only for top or central leadership, was held in March this year where Dr Chua was elected the new president.
Next year, the party still has to undergo election at all levels for a new term of three years as the March fresh poll for top leadership only meant for the remaining period of the current term which will end next October.
However, it is not issues for the majority of the BN component parties, particulary from Sabah and Sarawak, as they have undergone their respective party elections this year, except for the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) which is scheduled to have its election at the end of next year.
"We do not have any plan to postpone it. Not a problem for us as the state election needs to be held before July next year. Our party's election, especially at branch level, will only start after that. It doesn't really affect us," SUPP president Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam told Bernama here today.

tunku : i think the BN component parties are making mistake by postponing their party election.they should carry out the election earlier instead of postponing it. this will ensure that the new leadership are truly accepted by the grassroots and will able to form a strong machinery for the coming GE.the government should not have the GE next year, they can have it at the end of their term that is 2013.there's no urgent in having election.there is still much reform needed both for politics and economics. hope the BN component parties especially Umno should reconsider not to postpone their party election.everyone knows that kj is not accepted at the grassroot level.he will not be able to carry out his duty perfectly as youth chief where umno youth has the biggest challenge in their history to get the young voters to vote for them.

Indian groups fume over Selangor scholarships

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP elected representatives should be willing to accept constructive criticism from the public and address their weakness, former Hulu Selangor councillor K. A. Ramu said.
Speaking at a forum on discrimination against Indian students by the Selangor state government, he said the low number of study loans by the state government and the scholarships by Yayasan Selangor for Indian students was attributed to lack of information.
He said this should not be an excuse. “I envy MIC Youth as they are in Facebook and Twitter and information is disseminated to the community quickly,” he said.
Over 100 people attended the forum organised by MIC Youth and Indian-based organisations following the controversy that only four Indian students were given study loans by the state government last year.
There were only three Indians among the 1,571 who were given scholarships by Yayasan Selangor for 2008 and 2009.
Ramu said the state government should find out the reasons for not disbursing more study loans and scholarships to Indian students.
Wanita MIC CWC member M. Mohana said that nine out of 10 Indian students approached the party, to seek financial assistance to pursue their studies.
Malaysia Hindu Sangam former youth chief Arun Doraisamy suggested the formation of a research team to disseminate educational loan opportunities to Indian students.
Makkal Sakthi president R. Kannan called on the Selangot government to disseminate information on study loans and scholarships in all newspapers.
MIC youth secretary C. Sivarrajah said a memorandum would be handed to the Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim on Monday.

tunku : 2008 the promised moon and stars to the indian community and after the captured the state, what did the indians benefits from them?nothing. this is what you get when you elect a party that only knows how to oppose, how to create issues but don't know how to work and carry out their responsibilities.show them the way out comes the next election.

Kit Siang can be DPM if PR wins and policies not contradicted: Nik Aziz

KOTA BARU: PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat will accept the appointment of Lim Kit Siang as the Deputy Prime Minister if the opposition pact leads the country through the 13th general election.
Nik Abdul Aziz, who is also the Kelantan Mentri Besar, however, said the appointment of the DAP advisor should not contradict the conditions stipulated in the national policy and Islamic policy.
"For us, we consider the country as a democratic nation. So, we cannot look at a particular race.
"What is important is that we have to look at the policy (of the party that rules the country)," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting here Wednesday.
He said this when commenting on a hotly-debated statement by PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who proposed that Lim be appointed Deputy Prime Minister if the opposition pact were to win.
Nik Abdul Aziz said he was of the opinion that the opposition pact had the edge as it had PAS, an Islamic party that was responsible for reprimanding any party within the pact pertaining to matters on Islam.
Thus, the issue of any dispute if the opposition pact appointed a non-Muslim as the Deputy Prime Minister did not arise. - Bernama

tunku : nik aziz has over ruled his party president, hadi awang when commenting on this issue. hadi is against it and nik aziz is ok with it.nik aziz is making dap as their (pas) new direction. there's no more call for hudud law and islamic nation from pas.it is not their main agenda anymore.

Polls in March, Anwar predicts

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has predicted that the general election will be held in March next year.
He called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to decide on a date to give ample time for preparations, since he had already indicated signs of an early election.
"I also call upon him for a transparent election and guarantee a free media to report fairly on contesting parties," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Najib said Umno elections scheduled for next year would be held back for 18 months to focus on strengthening the party.
The party president said there was no reason to get excited over the move.
"We have done this before. There is nothing peculiar," he said, adding that the postponement was provided for in the party constitution.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Wednesday the postponement of Umno elections was not a sign of snap polls.
He reiterated the Prime Minister's statement that the decision by the Umno supreme council was made merely to strengthen the party.
"The media can speculate. As for the party, it is an appropriate move because, according to party procedure, branches will begin elections next year.
"If such a decision is not made, there'll be heavy campaigning that will affect the position of the party," he said, responding to a question on whether the decision to delay Umno polls indicated an early general election.
"What is important is the decision was made to ensure there is no juggling of positions in Umno. Now we focus on strengthening the party," he said after chairing the 66th National Land Council meeting in the Parliament building here.

tunku : how can you listen to a man that had lied to the whole world that he has the numbers and will conquer Putrajaya on 16th september 2008? anwar wants a free media report, can he make sure that all the pro opposition medias gives free and fair reports about the government? this moron can't be trusted and those who believes him comes under the moron category.for the election dates, he demanded that PM Najib to decide on the date to give ample time for preparations for them, well if you already predicted it in march, why you want the date? go ahead and do all your necessary preparation from now,MORON.

Tun Mahathir Praises Najib's Leadership

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has praised the administration of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak upon receiving feedback and opinion from outsiders on matters pertaining to the country.
He said the receptiveness from the current administration had led to a better-shaped policy which eased everyone on sharing and expressing their thoughts which resulted better support from the public.
"I must confess that Najib and the administration is quite open, in this sense. When they need to get consultation from anybody, they will do so, and I have also given my opinion on certain occasions, for example the transformation process," he said during the question and answer (Q&A) session after delivering his keynote address at the Malaysia-Europe Forum (MEF), here Tuesday.
However, responding to a question, Dr Mahathir reiterated that he had no plans to make a comeback and he would continue giving opinions and criticisms through his blog.
"For me, to come back and be directly involved is out of the question. Once I'm out, I would not come back. I just hope that they would read my blog..that's as far as I can go," he said.
Responding to a question about the people's perception on the 1Malaysia concept, Dr Mahathir noted that the national unity concept could only be achieved once the people identified themselves as Malaysians.
He said the concept was formally targeted during the launching of Vision 2020 which he announced in 1991.
"In Vision 2020, which I delivered in 1991, the first item that we wanted to achieve was national unity. The concept could be achieved if all Malaysians forget their past, speak one language, and identify themselves as Malaysians.
"Today, I found that people are still talking 'I'm a Chinese Malaysian, Malay Malaysian, Indian Malaysian which make the interpretation of 1Malaysia very difficult for people of different races," he said.
Speaking on the government's Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), Dr Mahathir said Malaysia should support more local industries to help them generate a stronger financial income.
Citing Korea and Japan for example, Dr Mahathir said those countries should be emulated on how they improved and developed their own financial integrity without depending too much on foreign direct investments (FDI).
"What they (Japan and Korea) did was acquiring foreign resources and technology and at the same time improved their own technology and grew into giant corporations. But in Malaysia, we allowed foreigners to come here and benefited from the low cost of labour.
"The time has come to change. We should support local industry. We have given incentives to foreign companies, why don't we just give to local companies?" he said.
The forum themed "Looking Back In Order To Move Forward" was held to ensure that Malaysia and Europe had mutual understanding of their respective policies, particularly on the question of investment.
It was attended by 250 people including businessmen, government officials, academicians and representatives of student organisations in the country and abroad.

BN Will Win Next General Election With Better Majority, Says Dr Mahathir

tunku : this praises will not be digested by the opposition.no doubt during the sleepy pak lah's administration, they used Tun's criticism against the his administration but now they have lost it.the pro opposition medias and news portal like malaysiakini and malaysiainsider till today trying their best to show that Tun is against the government's policies but they are proven wrong.no doubt Tun do sometimes gives his opinions and criticisms through his blog but it is meant for the government to do better.
